    The Plague!

The backstory sounds very interesting, and you guys did a bang up job writing the filecards. Much better then some of the profiles Hasbro comes up with sometimes. Gallows and Grim Skull are the best looking and the fact that their unique characters I think justifies the different color faceplates.
  2. While I probably won't be picking these up, the inclusion of all these new characters and their possible appearance in the second season of the Anime series has really got me excited.
  3. Although I'm still unimpressed by Wave 4 of the DTC singles both the multi-packs impress me highly. It seems Hasbro finally figured this one out, delievering one set of new 'unique' characters (the highlight being the new kick-ass COBRA Plague Squad) and a set of SIX classic COBRA Vipers. I'm very pleased by this selection. Although I hope we might be able to learn what Wave 5 of the DTC line has in store.
  4. WHERE . . . IS . . . VENOM?!
  5. On your mark . . . get set . . . piss and MOAN! The big H finally gets the vehicle concept right but only too late.
  6. AE jumped the shark by issue one. The only Joe comic I've enjoyed from DD lately since the regular series turned into this junk has been the new TF crossover.
  7. It's on my DVD wishlist. Although I was hoping they'd release the whole series in a box set, beggers can't be choosers.

    season 2

There's a preview of season 2 up at GIJoe.com. Check it out, it's got pics of the new 2.5 line vehicles and even the S6 version of Firefly. It looks awesome.
  9. I love the motto on the Decepticon police car - "To punish and enslave."
  10. I don't know. Despite everyone else's reactions to him, this is the first time I'm considering adding Megatron to my collection, because there hasn't been a figure representation of his classic G1 look since . . . well since FOREVER. I can forgive the sci-fi look of the gun because in the PC age we live in now no way is Hasbro going to get away with making megs look like a Desert Eagle 45 or a Glock 9MM or a HK UPS. But yeah I'm definitely in the "Damn Megatron looks GOOD!" minority. Starscream and Astrotrain look good too, I just hope Hasbro decides to repaint this Starscream figure to make Skywarp too. All in all very exciting.
  11. I agree with you but you should check out GI Joe Year One (or is it Declassified?) when it comes out (next month, I believe). It's written by Larry Hama so it has to be at least a little better than the dreck that's being put out now. Yeah but the level of COBRA coverage in that series will be minimal to none, and COBRA is the only reason I tune INTO any G.I. Joe comics. Instead of '82, you know what years I'd like to see spotlighted - '87, '89, and '91. Let's see some original stories starring little known characters from the RAH toyline from those years and see what Devil's Due comes up with.
  12. This series just gets worse every month. That's why I'm savoring the Joe/TF crossover, because I know that once it ends in July, I'm going to have to go without a good Joe comic for awhile.
  13. Art of War is rather excellent isn't it. The rest of the series promises to be just a good on both the art and story. I am rather intrigued by Issue 13 of AE but I've still yet to see the mainline Joe comic delievery anything even close to the great work DD was doing before this 'grit s***'!

    Cobra mortal

Thought so. This year's set is junk. It would have been worthwhile for MC to just have made extra sets of last years Iron Grenadier set, drop Destro, Mayhem, and Metal Head, and include some more army builders like the actual TARGAT which we now know they have.
  15. Well I paid $30 dollars for my MOC Big Boa, but he was still worth the price. Big Boa (like Darklon) was one of those few COBRA unique characters that I always really liked. Most of COBRA's traditional leaders and lieutenants, Cobra Commander, Destro, Major Bludd, Copperhead, have never been favorites of mine. It was always the more eccentric and standalone-ish COBRA members that made the command staff of my legions. Boa plays an intricate part in my Joeverse, in that he not only trains my COBRA troops but also leads them into battle on a constant basis. My favorite pic was of him punching out Outback.
  16. Although I like MC's sets, I feel their RAH figures are so good it's a bad idea to include any troops in these sets because it's so frustrating you can't army build them because their so expensive. So I would like a set that is mainly COBRA, but is entirely unique character dominated. A collection of COBRA leaders, generals, lieutenants and other hired guns. All the figures would of course be RAH sculpts, with some frankensteined ones for the characters who never had figures for: Lineup: (using original molds) Darklon Big Boa Croc Master Zandar Gristle Dice Copperhead Sky Creeper Wild Weasel Blackstar Cesspool (using Frankenstein molds) Dr. Knox Aleph, Night Creeper Leader Dr. Venom Ghost Bear A two pack of non-COBRA villains (both Frankenstein molds of course): Baron Ironblood Sei-Tin The Joes would be either ex-COBRA members or spies working within COBRA's ranks: Mercer Chameleon Scoop Vehicles: C.L.A.W. Glider (x2, since it's so small) Stinger Razorback The set is called 'COBRA ROGUES GALLERY'. The theme would be that a number of ex-employees of COBRA from throughout the organization's history have banded together in the pursuit of wresting control from COBRA Commander. The Joes become aware of this impending civil war within COBRA and so they dispatch the three members of the their own organization who have spent the most amount of time in the enemy's camp.
  17. Well again props for MC for digging up some old parts but again this figure looks like a piss poor effort on their part. This whole set is just at the complete opposite end of the spectrum compared to last year's. I wouldn't pay $2 dollars for these figures much less $240!
  18. Read's Darklon's review . . . @grumpy@ Leo you're an a**hole!
  19. The ONLY good thing about MC sets is they do an excellent job with paint apps. And I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing any of the former Funskool figures again, but then nobody expected 3" to return to retail this quickly (or, hell, at all!). I would have been more impressed if MC had included the original TARGAT with last year's set or as one of the extra figures in IG colors. Now THAT would have been impressive.
  20. Another bomb. I am so dissapointed by MC's efforts for this year's set. Although on a brighter note, if MC could salvage the TARGAT mold after having it shipped to and then return from India in the sorry state we've been told it and all the other Funskool molds are in, then maybe there's hope we'll see some Hasbro releases of these figures again.
  21. I love the purple veins. Very nice touch. Well done man.
  22. Don't feel too bad Jay, I missed the season finale myself and for someone who really likes this series that had me tearing my hair out. Most of the new episodes were aired last month so you may have to wait awhile to see the new stuff.
  23. He DOES look better without the armor.
