  1. Wait a month and get the new Mcfarlane ones. They'll be 5" scale, which will allow for awesome detailing AND vehicle compatibility. I personally can't wait to get them.
  2. A little hot water and common sense works wonders
  3. This is the Law of Attraction in action--you are getting what you are focussing on. You are so worked up over crap in the toy hobby so that is all that comes your way. All you see are negatives so that's what surrounds you--and what's even more silly: YOU ARE DEFENDING YOUR OWN NEGATIVITY. I don't see things that way and, consequentally, my experience is a lot more positive. He also needs reminding that Metamorpho isn't a $60 figure. He's a free figure you get when you spend $60 on six other figures.
  4. Maybe now that I'm moving back to the states, I'll think about bidding on one. The shipping will be a lot cheaper, which would bring the figure down to a more reasonable price.
  5. Welcome to the world of super-articulated action figures. Variations in production isn't just a Mattel problem, it's an industry problem. I personally have had absolutely no problems with any of my Mattel figures, but I have had problems with one figure here and there from the multiple lines I collect, and for me it's easier to fix the problem myself than have to deal with returning something to the store, contacting the company to ask for a replacement, or whatever other solution to the problem there might be. I have the knowhow and ability, so I'm going to use them. You want 16+ joints on your figures? You want more than five colors of paint? You want source accuracy? Get ready for figures with two left feet, joints frozen with paint, variations in skin tones, glued parts, etc, etc.
  6. They're all good figures, with Azrael being my least favorite. The unmasked Batman is a cool piece to have I'd imagine. As for me, I'm really only missing Man-Bat, which I don't really feel like paying $30 for.
  7. Just dab a little super glue on the pegs to beef them up a bit. Once they're dry, insert them and they'll be tight.
  8. Very cool custom of an oddball character
  9. On my house-hunting trip to Illinois, I made a trip to Big Lots today and saw that they still have figures from the old Batman line. Old new, I know, but what shocked me was to find the Batman/Joker 2-pack. It was $12, which isn't much under what it cost originally, but it's still worth it to have a better Joker than the one we got for DCSH. They also had the new DC Super Friends figures for $7.50.
  10. I threw this together for a guy on the Spawn message board as a commission. I used the McF Snake, a ML Longshot, and a LOTR Aragorn to splice him all together. I modeled him after the Twin Snakes version of Snake and the Yamato Snake 12" figure. Parts list: Head, lower arms, legs= Longshot Torso, parts of waist, hands, lower legs, feet, shoulder pads= Snake Upper arms, ankles and ankle joint= Aragorn

    25th Blackout

That's ok. Hold him for a couple of weeks when I'll be moving back to Illinois, haha.
  12. That's the thing; they're not glued together, they're sonic welded. You're only ever going to see those pegs when the figure is split open, and the torso lines up perfectly without them because of the raised pieces and such inside. I've split a few now and a little glue holds the body together well enough to allow normal handling and play.

    25th Blackout

Man, looks great! Now go ahead and box him up to send to me
  14. I went out today to look for Castlevania figures, but came up with nothing. Then I strolled into Spec's Music and found a lab coat zombie! 1) I had no idea they were affiliated with FYE, and 2) it was the only RE figure on the shelf of a store that usually doesn't even carry figures.
  15. 25th Scarlett with a shrunken Meryl head from JFAK and Han Solo feet.
  16. I'm sure it really has nothing at all to do with copyright, but rather a gentleman's agreement between TNI and Hasbro to not show the pics until it's time to show the pics (basically what Joe said above). People are going to see the pics eventually, so just relax and enjoy the hobby.
  17. Ah, man; I thought it was Breaker's Hadoken.
  18. I really am looking for a Mario that's got about the same level of play as Sonic. The ones I usually see only have about three points of articulation, which isn't nearly enough to put him in all the cool game poses. If I find a decent head, I'll probably try making my own.
  19. She looks more like Meryl from Metal Gear Solid.
  20. What better way to compliment a Solid Snake custom than with one of his adversaries...or is that ally... Body, legs, arms= Showdown Silver Surfer Head= JFAK Left hand= Showdown Dr. Doom Right hand= Showdown Iron Man Sword= Marauder of course I used a very small cylindrical file (pin file?) and etched the lines in the shoulders, hips, and legs. Then I Dremeled the pecs down a little and built them back up and added the lines. The rest is sculpting and painting.
  21. I guess they caught on to the $4.99 price. It's up to $17.99 now, haha. I wonder if it was a mistake or not. I was about to order another one just for the Megaman figure until I saw that. Oh well, the lab is sweet for adult collectors. I wouldn't give it to a child, as it wouldn't hold up to a lot of play.
  22. My first custom of 2008! I got back home yesterday and found my JFAK order in the mailbox, which included a Snake head that I'd been waiting on (The body had been finished for a while). He's almost accurate; just missing the knee pads. The entire figure is a 25th Snake Eyes with the vest and shoulder pads sculpted on. The heads, as mentioned above, is a JFAK cast. Pistol and FAMAS= Marauder
  23. Christmas was five days ago; the stores aren't going to do a lot of heavy ordering now anyway. Another reason may be that Universe is considered a separate line from DCSH, so it may take a little while for them to start trickling in. I read around January, we should start seeing more DC figures.
