  1. These aren't Spartans though; they're unaltered human soldiers. As for the articulation, you can go to Spawn.com and see the breakdown of the figure to make your decision. They are out of scale though. The Battle Rifle works for Joes though, as it's actually a little bit underscaled for the Halo line.
  2. They're out of scale for Joes. They're about 4.5" tall. They are articulated, but not as much as 25th Joes.
  3. I was a fan from the beginning. Flash was my first Joe, and it's been down hill ever since
  4. Figures: Alpine Torpedo Wetsuit Baroness Hooded Cobra Commander EEL Mutt Vehicles: Mauler Bridge layer Killer Whale Moray I grew up in coastal South Carolina, so I had lots of fun at the beach, swamps, woods, etc with all these figures and vehicles. I'm actually surprised my Mauler didn't crap out with all the mud puddles I drove it though.
  5. Actually, it is, hehe. I bought a couple of GI Joe vs. Cobra items back in the day and the price was a little steep.
  6. He's on WellofSouls also under another name. The post is written just like this one.
  7. Shopko is like a mix between K-Mart and Target. That's the best way I can describe it. There used to be one here when I lived here in 2001, but I found that it closed down after Wal-Mart moved in around the corner from it.
  8. Because the pegs on the backpack stretch the holes out

    DVD wave 3 out

While I wouldn't say the Combat Heroes suck, they are a little too pre-posed compared to the Galactic Heroes line. They should all sport the same pose so that can fit on the vehicles, in my opinion. As for the DVD packs, I would have nicely asked an employee to help you dig it out. Unless you're not in a hurry to get them.
  10. The ones that look better than the Hasbro versions are Thor, Spiderman, and Daredevil. All are pretty solid figures that don't fall apart like some of the other SHS figures do. I haven't seen a Hasbro Green Goblin, but the SHS one was great.
  11. I picked up the Action Soldier and the arctic set a couple of weeks ago. I was born in '75 so I missed the 12" Joe's heyday, but I did have a Kung Fu grip Joe my aunt got at a yardsale, so these do bring me back to that time at least. I was a little let down with the arctic set. I was expecting the snow suit to be packed in there somewhere, but basically, what you see is what you get. So I have a Joe in a green uniform with white backpack, belt, and snowshoes

    Sigma 6 Snowjob

Thanks a lot, guys. It looks like I finished him just in time too; it's supposed to snow on Saturday
  14. Mattel has such a huge international market, I doubt they're even hurting much from the current state of our economy. They have a huge presence in Latin America and Europe, and even produce product there that you can't find in North America. They also own Fisher Price and who-knows-what else, so they're not just in the boy's toy market. Not saying that we won't see some prices creeping up though like they've been doing across the board.
  15. JFAK, I was just thinking that a cool addition to this would be a computer console inside one of the flip-up doors, so the Adventure Team fellas can have a mobile command center and pygmy gorilla/Yeti/giant snake tracker The side could flip up like an awning with maybe a couple of poles to lock it in place.
  16. Actually, covert the launcher to some kind of radar dish and it'd be pure AT. I was thinking the same thing. Or at least adding on to it.
  17. Pretty sweet. Looks like it's ready to go capture pygmy gorillas, Yeti, and giant snakes Seriously, that's a good coverage of the yellow paint. I would probably look for some nets to stow on the sides to look more Adventure Team-ish.

    Sigma 6 Snowjob

Something I've been brainstorming for a while. Instead of going with a Shipwreck head, I went with Gung Ho because his huge chin and flat top allowed me to carve the beard and new hairdo. I used pin files to do the grooves in both so the hair would match the Sigma 6 style. The hood was made from the snowboardin' Snake Eyes hood and a pipe cleaner. The bottom of his parka was cut from a $.75 Wal-Mart sun visor found in the craft section. I chose that because I felt it would blend better with the plastic torso. The gun is from Lt. Stone. I just chopped off the tip of one of the projectiles to make it look like a gun barrel. I also added an elastic strap to carry the gun on his shoulder.
  19. The Cobra Civil War was awesome. "Cobra Commander's" forces against Serpentor's. The Joes were forced to aid their enemy in battle. Serpentor's awesome demise at the hands, err, arrow of Zartan. And best of all- Destro at the top of the hill sipping tea the entire time
  20. If there's one thing I learned about collecting Star Wars figures, it's that if I missed a figure in the past, it's bound to get a re-release or an update in the future. That's good for me, because I needed a good Ben Kenobi figure since I missed the Vintage one, and this one looks better (depending on leg articulation).

They've always been quick to ship for me, and the items are well packed. I only had one instance where a figure became unavailable, so they gave me a discount on my next purchase. Also, they have a "no questions asked" return policy, so even if something "isn't what you expected" you can send it back with the included prepaid label. I used that once when I ordered a Spider-Man 3 6" Sandman. I opened the box and saw what a turd the figure was, then put it back in, checked "not what you expected" and mailed it off the next day.
  22. Sounds like they're pulling an Indiana Jones on this revision. One new figure with the rest of the case being peg warmers that have been clogging the pegs for a couple of months now.
  23. I wouldn't mind Scalpel, the VvV version of Mindbender, Sand Viper, Kamakura, and Brawler.
  24. I grabbed my Batpod this morning. Definitely an awesome piece.
  25. You may be confusing the Tumbler with the Batpod. It would make sense for the Tumbler to be the price Wheeljack mentioned, as the regular price is $30-something.
