I didn't like when they tried to make make the girl "sell" her StarWars figures. She said that the figures were her favorite part, so why go for those at all? They take up the least amount of space, and aren't worth as much as alot of the big things she had all over the place. I just thought that was screwed up.. and taking the people that need her "help" to dealers is BS too... A dealer isn't going to pay you half of what your stuff is worth..
I liked the part where the Starwars girl went to the auction and where the Catwoman guy sold his stuff at a store himself... that is cool. don't force the people to get taken advantage of by selling it in a way that they don't want to
as for Toy Hunters.. it still sucks. It is trying to be exactly like American Pickers, but it can't because it is not visually exciting for him to rummage through a bunch of stacked up cardboard boxes or plastic bins. On American Pickers, when they pull up to somebody's property, it's like going into the past.. and an instant history lesson. Plus, Mike and Frank are just alot more interesting than Jordan.

how the heck did the employees at the register not notice that what was inside the box didn't weigh or sound like what was supposed to be in there?
if they were stealing legos, there is no mistaking that sound.. should have been a dead give away.
and I thought for sure that stuff like leapsters had electronic alarm things on them..
but yeah, hilarious that he used his rewards card for the whole thing. idiot
I was wondering why they hit up so many TRU stores and didn't do the scam at other stores.. I guess because he wanted those rewards points!

right, but that is because I have it set that way currently. We could randomly do the order via the draft generator that nevermore was talking about.. and then lock in the draft order manually before our draft.. so you could kind of make a plan of attack.
I like that idea
You know how many people are going to be complaining about their position... I mean if we had all the same people from last year than we can do it like a normal draft of worst to best but we don't.
I don't understand why anybody would be complaining about their position any more than usual. It would still be completely random. The only difference is, you would know your position ahead of time.

Once we get all 12 (assuming it happens before the draft) can we get a draft order ahead of time? I know we typically do it right before but I'd like to mock from whatever spot I get to strategize. There's an online draft order generator where you just type in the names and emails and it will automatically email our order. Just a thought.
I wouldn't mind that.. but tell me how again? we use a separate draft order generator, and then I lock those positions into the yahoo thing ahead of time?

he directed the Town and Gone Baby Gone.. and those were both excellent movies. So I am not going to say that he couldn't direct a fine JLU movie.
But I still think DC/Warner is approaching this all wrong. They need to have the other movies first like Marvel did. So they have Bats, Supes, and GL (yuck).. and they need to introduce the others and also have the same actors playing Batman and Superman. Bale already said he is done playing Batman, but we all know money talks.
anyhow, an Affleck directed JLU couldn't be any worse than the GL movie

so the Club finally went live with it.. and it's pretty much what most of us thought it would be. 300 bucks for the sub. that's too much for me, but it's in line with what their convention figures have been costing.
The club has also said that some of the figures may be available as singles, but not many. This makes sense because if they did offer them as singles, most people would skip the sub and hope to score them that way.. then they might be stuck with a bunch of figures.. (or who am I kidding, collectors gobble up everything the club makes just because of it's scarcity)
as for BBTS. I think those prices were fair because you will likely see the single figures go for much more than that. Big Boa is one of the only ones I wanted, but I won't pay 50 bucks for him.. even though I am guessing he will go for like 120ish on ebay later
oh well.. I am bummed that I will be missing carded figures for my 25h collection.. but I won't pay that much for Joes

Agreed, once you have a Chik-Fil-E sandwich, you won't look at those frozen Chicken Sandwiches at McDonald's, BK, and Wendy's the same.
that's true. I had never been to one until maybe 2 weeks ago. And I couldn't believe how good the chicken sandwich was. and it was completely different than any other chicken sandwich you can get at another fast food joint.
but of course, it was expensive.. 5 bucks for a plain sandwich

I really wanted Footloose.. I think he looks great and is an important part of any 25th collection. However, I wasn't willing to pay the price to get him. Sometimes you have to step back from your collecting ideals and look at something from a more objective point of view.. 40+ for a Joe is stupid!
so I'll never have him unless I come upon one by trade .. and I am okay with that

I was lucky enough to get a hookup from a friend over on the marvelousnews forums.. so I didn't have to go to ebay.
But Jinx on that classic card was a figure that I definitely wanted for my collection.. just like Zarana from last year.. if you don't get these figures, there is a huge hole in your 25th collection.
However, before I received them from my buddy.. I had already decided to go to ebay to buy her with a ceiling of about 30 bucks.
that's why I don't have Footloose and Dialtone from the club.. I am not will to pay those prices

Checked today and it says we have 2 spots open and live online draft is set for Tue Aug 28 7:00pm CDT
I am going to move the draft to Sunday, August 26th, if everybody is cool with that. It sounds like most people wanted it on the weekend. I think a time of about 1pm PST, 4pm EST would be good.. let me know if it's not a good time.. we have 3 weeks left

alright, so who wants, or doesn't want the draft generator thing?
normally, we wouldn't know until 30 mins before the draft what our positions would be.
However, as Nevermore pointed out, there are websites that will generate a draft order for you. The website would email the order to everyone for verification. That way, you would have some time to plan your draft strategy or do some mock drafts.
I vote FOR the generator.
