  1. I got 2 of these Joker figures and they aren't as bad as I thought. I wasn't going to order them (not at $20 anyway), but a friend ordered a couple and I traded some other figures he needed for them. I like the head more than I thought I would. It looks more like the bank robber mask in person than it did in the pics on mattycollector. $20 bucks is still ridiculous though... But I may be a little biased... I hate Mattel and how they kill every line they touch! I do have one major problem with the figure though... THAT DAMN USELESS MASK ACCESSORY!!!!! What is the freakin' point?! And to top it off, the one that came with this figure is even worse than the one that came with the Gotham City Thug figure. I don't know about everyone else's (who ordered this figure), but the mask accessory with mine looks fat! It's distorted and looks stoooopid! It has these funny bulges under the ears that look like fat neck rolls. Just odd! Anyway, not a bad figure... Just a bad price!
  2. I think the head on the jail cell Joker looks just like the head on the Mattel 12 inch Joker that was/is exclusive to TRU stores. Only difference I see is the hair hanging down over the face. If you all have that 12 incher, compare the two and let me know what you think. The back of the 12 inch Joker even states: "In the making of BATMAN 6" figures a 12" model is created to maximize detail when reduced down in scale. The 12" figure you are holding has been tooled 1 to 1 from a 12" model and shows exceptional detail especially at this scale! These 12" figures feature exquisite paint highlights and critical points of articulation. Perfect for play or display!" I just think they used the head sculpt on the 12 inch figure for the 6 inch. Anyone else agree with me or am I just seeing something that noone else is seeing? Still, I have the Hot Toys Jokers, so no headsculpt in the world is going to impress me now... LOL!
  3. I just saw an auction on Ebay that stated that only 1,000 of these figures were beibng produced and were only available to "Hot Toys Shops VIP"! What the heck does that mean. The auction also stated that if another production run was indeed made available to the public it would be different than the ones showing up in-hand now on Ebay. Does anyone here know about this or is this just some GOOB trying to up the final price of his auction. He says that his is a pre-order but will be available in 4 weeks. Any info?.... Thanks in advance!
  4. I don't think I can wait either, found one in-hand,and a pre-order due out w/in 30 days. Also, some people are speculating that the American. You didn't finish your sentence there Batfan... "speculating that the American" what? If you have info... GIVE IT TO ME!!! LOL I also spoke with an Ebay seller that has the figure in hand, and he told me that the police officer head DOES NOT have the PERS technology. WTF!?! I was hoping both would. I mean... if you look at the pre-order info and the sneak peeks, they always show the officer version when they were mentioning the PERS system. What gives?!! Did EVERYONE know this except me?! I feel stoopid now!
  5. Ebay is going CRAZY with this Joker "in hand"! I was looking earlier (I don't know if I can wait until December!) and the one head that has the paint and the PERS eye system was already up to over $60 with 2 days left on the auction! Just for the head! WOW! Also... I thought BOTH heads were going to have the PERS eyeball rolling system. According to what I have seen (pics and auction desriptions), only the painted head has the moving eyes... NOT the police Joker head. Can anyone confirm or deny? I just thought BOTH were supposed to have this feature.
  6. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I am just so excited! I guess it won't KILL me to wait until December... MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!!!!!!!
  7. WOW!!! I can't wait for this thing! I just noticed a few "in hand" and "in stock" auctions on eBay with "BUY IT NOW" prices over $200. I just wonder if it's still going to be December before all of us fans get theirs that have been pre-ordered for months now. I hate waiting. I am the most impatient person in the world! AAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!! I WANT MINE NOW!!!! That brings me to my question... Why are they available in Hong Kong already but they won't show up here til December? They come from the same place and all right? I know shipping probably takes a while, but over 2 months?! Why so long? Just curious... I've had this thing ordered since April! I am almost tempted to cancel my preorder and just "BUY IT NOW" on eBay. Big Bad Toy Store still says December...
  8. Sorry if this makes anyone mad, I understand why companies do what they do... the all mighty dollar... but it has to be said... MATTEL SUCKS! Unless you collect Barbie or Hotwheels, I DO NOT see how anyone could be impressed or satisfied by what Mattel does. Sorry... Just my opinion... and like the old saying goes, "An opinion is like a fart... Everyone's stinks but your own." And to the person that made a comment on here about Hasbro, I am no Hasbro fan, but until they make EVERY new wave of figures... or EVERY new line that comes out, a site exclusive... Or until you have to pay $20 (close to $30 with shipping) for that new Speeder Bike Luke Skywalker figure, don't compare Hasbro to Mattel! As far as I can tell, I have found EVERY Star Wars figure, EVERY G.I. Joe figure, EVERY Marvel Universe figure that has come out without having to spend hours and hours trying to order it off of a website that sold out of it two days before it even went on sale. Also, if I was looking for a Star Wars comic book 2-pack, I have been able to buy that 2-pack without one of the figures being missing, and I didn't have to stand in line for 3 hours to get it. Compare Hasbro to Mattel to those folks that stood in line for hours to get their Wonder Twins set at Comic-con that was "supposed" to include the exclusive Gleek... THAT WASN'T INCLUDED in most of the sets. Then given away to a forum's members at some website. Completely ridiculous! I don't know about anyone else, but every time I have bought any figures that have appeared in Star Wars (for example... I am not really a Star Wars collector anymore, just using it to prove my point) movies or comics, they have come with everything that they should have come with... Unlike the Wonder Twins that had NO Gleek at Comic-con, and were never supposed to come with Gleek from Mattel's site. Mattel DOES NOT CARE about collectors... They are just out to make MORE MONEY! Who wants to bet that Gleek will be sold on their site at some point... for $20!!! Plus shipping of course. Again, I wish to apologize for anything I said that makes anyone at all here angry. I just had to speak my mind. Mattel will NEVER get another dollar from me. If noone else shares my opinion, that's fine. I still love ya... I just have to say what's on my mind. If I don't, I'll get an ulcer. Thanks again for letting me be me. I LOVE IT HERE!!!!! This is by far the best forums I have ever been a member of. Viva La TNI!!!!
  9. I agree that stores going overboard ordering the first waves of these figures, then having them warm pegs, is one of the causes of this line going "online exclusive", but why can't Mattel sell the figures at the same cost the stores did. I have worked in retail management for many... MANY years, and I know what mark-up is on merchandise. I have seen items that cost only 62 cents to produce sold for over $10 in collectible stores for figurines and such... So, why doesn't mattel sell the figures for what they were charging in the stores?! Hell, Wal-mart, Toys R Us, Target, etc aren't adding their cut in... looks like Mattel could sell these figures even cheaper and still make more money from the things. Look at it this way... If Mattel produces the figures at (being generous) $1.00 each, then sells the figures to Wal-mart or any other retailer for (again, being generous) $3.00 each, then they sell them for $12, Mattel makes the same. They could sell them for the same price Wal-mart sells them for and make one heckuva killing. They're making WAY more and not having to add anyone else's cut. But NO, they are going to sell them for $20 on their site (which they run... no shipping to store costs, no overhead at all for Mattel) and are sticking it to the collectors by making them... so-called... exclusives. What's going to happen next? Is every company goibng to do this? It would make sense for them. They'd be making SOOOO much more money that way. Charging $20 and then shipping? Slick move for Mattel... sales wise. In this horrible economy, why should it matter if the average collector can't afford to buy all these $20 figures that cost $1.00 to produce. I just think it's insane. I also agree that I shouldn't complain about the price. I can either take it or leave it. I won't be buying them. I have every figure that has come out so far. I would love to finish and complete my collection. I would love to see this line continue, but I will not be pulled into the overpriced, hard to order, sold out in 2 hours hell that Mattel has already pulled the Masters of the Universe collectors into.
  10. Mattel kills everything it touches somehow. I am just beginning to hate them. Before long everything is going to be available only on mattycollector! It's all going to be sellouts and hard to order crap. I am a huge collector of Batman merchandise... Always have been, but if these are as much trouble as the Masters figures have been, Mattel can just keep them. I hate to see good lines end because of the stupidity of the companies putting them out there. As far as Dark Knight figures go, I just get the Hot Toys figures. By the prices on some of the Maters figures, if these Dark Knight Movie Masters figures sell out like them, collectors will be giving $70 and $80 bucks on eBay for them anyway. Just add another $20 and get the Hot Toys stuff... Which is a thousand percent better anyway! After all of the crap that Mattel has put collectors through, I just don't care anymore. What's next for Mattel to murder?... They do have the WWE license now... How long before they piss off the wrestling community?!
  11. Oh yeah... I had almost forgotten about that. I ordered it from BBTS so long ago that I forgot that that one was going to be my most expensive one yet. Even so, you almost get 2 figures for the price of one (with the Joker anyway). I have even seen those selling on Ebay already for $168 and that includes shipping. I think that once the initial run of them hit the market and every loyal fanatic (like myself) gets one, they will come down too. I mean, look at the original Joker... $175 when he first came out... then down to about $150... then $125 (when I got my first one)... then down to a "Buy It Now" price of $99.99 almost all the time on Ebay. I gave $95 with only $8 shipping for my second original Joker. Then I gave about $120 plus shipping for my first Joker bank Robber... then $115 with free shipping for my second. Patience pays off sometimes. I saw a guy with the MMS DX Joker PLUS the new Hot Toys narrow shouldered body on Ebay for a "Buy It Now" of $198 which included shipping. Not bad considering that BBTS has the figure for $164.99 and then the body for around $30 or $35 with shipping not included. They will come down... I guarantee it. You just might have to wait until next summer to see it. I just can't wait that long. I am a Joker nut... and I am a Hot Toys nut! I can splurge on myself a little. I'm not rich... by any means... Hell, I'm so broke sometimes that I can't even Pay attention, but I am thrifty... I will stay up til 3 am and watch a low bid auction, and I can cut out some of the other junk I used to collect if I want something bad enough. @joker@
  12. Yeahm they can be pretty expensive, but I have been pretty lucky. Thanks to late nights on Ebay, I haven't paid over $125 for any of the five I have. I bought two for under $100. The custom nurse Joker only cost $26 for the body, $17 for the head, and $25 for the nurse set that included wig, dress, gun, shoes, socks, belt, detonator, hospital file, and sergical mask. A lot of the Joker figures are on "Nuy It Now" on Ebay for around $99.95. Free shipping auctions are going on now, a few anyway, for around $115 to $120. I used to collect a lot of different figure lines, but I stopped a while back when a lot of lines were changing to smaller "less expensive" sizes (Don't get me started on that... Toy Biz Marvel Legends used to be around $8 or $9... at six inches, and now 3.75 are $8 to $9... and that's "LESS EXPENSIVE"?! Give me a freakin' break?!). Now, the money I used to spend buying a lot of smaller figures, I can just spend on the larger, more expensive stuff that is of better quality. These Hot Toys figures are incredible and I don't mind passing on ten or so tiny figures to get them.
  13. I currently own 5 of the Hot Toys Joker figures. I have 2 of each of the original Joker and the Bank Robber versions plus one custom nurse Joker made from a Bank Robber body and head along with a custom nurse costume with wig I won from Ebay. I am currently working on another custom and was wondering if anyone could tell me if Medicom clothes fit Hot Toy figure bodies. I know that the heads and such are not interchangeable, but what about the clothes? I have looked over the Medicom body and even though it appears slimmer than the Hot Toys body, the clothes on the Medicom version seem kind of baggy and loose. Any information that anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!! @joker@ @bats@ @joker@
