  1. Whch one is which? I personally prefer the all yellow Super Powers style one. I always wanted the Super Powers one, but got a better made figure in DCUC.
  2. Yes, but shipping would be murder. I am not familiar with the current Batmobile. No, but the dedicated Batman line ones had cloth capes but no knee articulation. The Batmobile for that line was horrible. Action features overwhelmed their sense of a good design. I agree with a Super Powers version. The 1989 Batmobile would be OK, if they added the real special features like browning machine guns and the wheel hub bomb balls. I'd like the later one that had blue glowing within from Batman Forever instead. I'd only be down with a boxset if the Batman was also the Super Powers version or the current grey/black and Robin was the red torso/green pants Robin. Bad idea. I'd rather get Plastic Man next year. I agree, no retailer except maybe TRU would stock this, but they stock the horrible GIJoe:RoC Pit toy and the terrible TF:ROTF Devestator, so they carry expensive plastic junk so who knows?
  3. You do know this is a tie in with the movie correct? that doesn't mean they will sell . I don't know any adult collectors that like animated figures very much. and I don't know any 8 year olds that can afford these. these will sell when they hit because of scalpers thinking they can make a buck, but then they will warm the pegs big time well im an adult and i collect animated figures (jlu) and for the line to survive after a few years of the show being canceled there must be others who collect them If I knew how extensive the JLU collection would become, I would have collected them. Unfortunately if it wasn't a Batman, Superman or Green Lantern, I didnt see any on the shelves. I actually want a Brain from the most recent Walmart 6 pack.
  4. I can't say it is a bad idea to categorize them with a different SKU or DCPI number. I think including 1 or 2 DCWGH in a case isn't too bad as it follows there long followed marketing strategy of keeping major characters on the pegs. I do not care for, but understand them not just repacking a figure with C&C part in later wave cases. Sometimes that pesky stand comes in handy, like with Giganta. I wouldn't mind the new DCWGH coming with flying stands. It would make them more desirable. FYI, the Ronald Firestom was in early cases and the Jason Firestom was in later cases.
  5. If they only make one vehicle, this has to be done.
  6. I was super excited when I heard about them. Finally a Silver Banshee!! But alas, my hopes were shattered when I actually saw the "anime" look of them. I will still get Silver Banshee for lack of a better one. I have come around on Icicle and Major Force. I figure Icicle can look cartoony, being that his features are hidden by ice, and Major Force is in the same category with kinda soft features like Captain Atom. I have NO USE for the C&C, Batman or Superman.
  7. I believe that dinosaur is called an Anklosaurus, though it looks like it has too many "shell" spikes.

  9. At the very least I'd start with: a cabinetry or spice turntable for the Batmobile
  10. But you say that like its a bad thing. Profiting isn't a problem, because you and I are allowed to profit as well, so to exclude anyone else from that means to excludes ourselves as well. What seems to be the problem is with scalpers "buying everything". The simple fact of the matter is they can't. Its impossible. Oh, sure, they can buy up a local supply, but not a regional or national supply. They simply do not have that kind of reach. So knowing that, the key to beating scalpers is to simply buy in places where they cannot reach. True. Scalpers will also not buy up stuff that is stocked in abundance, because they depend upon restricted access ( and ignorance about access to flourish). The solution is mentioned above. The fallacy in this is the assumption that Mattel will try to fleece the market for all its worth. I disagree with that notion. They WILL seek to profit, but they also know there's a price threshold where interest will drop off. There's LOTS of models for this kind of thing, in many failed collectible ventures that over charged for their figures. My guess is that a $20-perhaps a $25- price for a 6" figure is about the limit of value collectors will go for, at the extreme. Beyond that, the majority of collectors buying Mattel products on-line will simply balk at paying more--especially if they perceive they are getting less. The collecting demographic is small.........do not kid yourself...........Mattel is only making about 10,000 tops of these collectible ( re: MOTU etc) figures for Matty. Considering retail orders usually amount about 10 TIMES that unit allotment, and action figure sales have dropped steadily since the 90's--there's not a lot of great margins built in for to those numbers. Mattel has to balance the risk of charging too much, versus charging too little, and having stock left over. They CANNOT warehouse leftover stock over a long-term--to make the exercise viable they have to sell-out and keep costs down on production. There will come a point, if interest wanes just enough where Mattel will look at possibly raising the cost to $30 per, and will probably just call its quits because asking that will not be sustainable. And if, by some outrageous fluke that collectors will bend over for that price level, then collectors will justly deserved to get their wallets raped out the ying yang--simply because they asked for it. If scalpers are in every region their reach is infinite. I think you are hoping for a situation that is unrealistic. Star Wars figures (and previously meantioned Hot Wheels) are smaller and are stocked more heavily, but that doesn't seem to hinder them. What I was going for about Matty collector, was that 2 packs and comicon leftovers are just the beginning. Wait until Matty starts with single exclusive for about $25-$30, then let the whining begin.
  11. I look at it this way: Toy Companies make product to be bought. Retail stores sell said product to be sold. A consumer buys said product. After that whiners on the internet are the only ones who care. I think the term "scalper" should be reserved for someone who buys everything just to turn a profit. Previously called out Hot Wheel guys and wrestler guys are this type too. If it is your business to sell toys, you are a scalper. I'll take the hit on the chin, I do not care. On the other hand, if you stay home and support the scalpers, because you are lazy to put the time in or are too busy whining about it in threads like this, thats your own fault. Scalpers won't rape the shelves, if no one buys from them. People buy from me and do not try to cheap me out. They request me to find things for them. In fact a few claim my prices are more fair than other resellers. Why? I mark up only 50% I like the internet, saves me aggravation, time, and resources. I also wish for the old days when TRU had a whole GI Joe aisle, whole Star Wars aisle, etc.... I can't wait until Mattel starts to sell their product online. You'll see who rapes your wallet. Whining about BBTS or other online retailers will stop, when you see what Mattel has in store for you.
  12. Batman was Omega Sanctioned. Only 2 people have escaped that, as I was told. Mr. Miracle and some one else, I dunno who. Bruce is smarter than Scott Free, so I am optimistic. I believe Kamandi, the last boy is whom you speak of? Now Bruce is the last man...
  13. I live in the same area, and this is not true. Branford has them. I have no history on its trend. Bristol, I believe you when you say. Cromwell used to but now doesn't. Derby never had them. East Windsor: no data Guilford used to, but now doesn't. Hamden used to but now doesn't. (EDIT: brought to my attention, they finally got some "best of") Lisbon used to, but now doesn't. Naugatuck: no data New Haven: no data New Milford had some. Norwich has leftovers. Old Saybrook used to, but now doesn't. Putnam: no data Rocky Hill never did. Shelton: no data Southington didn't but now does. Stratford: no data Torrington: no data Wallingford used to but now doesn't. Waterbury: no data Waterford used to but has been bare. West Hartford did, but I have not been there in a while to comment. West Haven: no data Willimantic does not have them. You guys do know that Norwalk (My hometown)has two Walmarts and Shelton is where my ex girlfreinds works Anyways in this area my Super Walmart was remodeled and since it was it no longer carries the DCUC Well, I was at the one on Connecticut Ave. yesterday. No spot for DC. In fact it is overflowing wiith GI Joe and Star Wars and Transformers.... Also, the woman who works toys in Guilford claims they might re-up DC there.

  15. That pic, so makes me want a new DCUC Parasite with a normal head.
  16. I wish the scalpers would buy the rest of wave 7 from my TRU. me too! while theyre at it, maybe they can go to all of the walmarts and targets and buy the rest of wave 6! How about the remains of wave 2 & 4? OUCH!!! Yup, some Targets and some Walmarts are still infested with blue electric Supermans and regular & Sonic Cyborgs
  17. I have and like the DCSH "Super Powers" version. I like and want the 5 pack version, as it is a more utilitarian look. By that I mean, the DCSH Apocalyptain armor, he'd only wear in battle. I think the main reason I want the 5 pack is to open it. I have Two Face from the DC Superheroes line and Catwoman and of course I have a Batman and Superman ... but man it would be awesome to display them out of package. I am a total geek. Maybe one day they will do a Black Canary, Oracle and Batgirl 3 pack? That way we get another crack at the newer Batgirl fig and we get an Oracle figure. only if black canary's screaming. 21. I drive a truck delivering electrical supplies during the day. At any given time, I stop at TRU, Walamarts & Targets. I generally pick up 25th style GI Joes for myself and DCUC for myself, plus extras to resell or trade. Doesn't matter much to me. Now I sell them at usually 1.5x my cost, or the current going rate. To stop at these stores, I lose my lunch time. That costs between $13-$20 per hour depending on how many hours I worked in that week. Selling toys is NOT my primary source of income. It does help to subsidize my collecting, though. I do not sell on Ebay anymore. Too much of a hassle. I do have my Main website that is 1/2 my collections/want lists and such and 1/2 sale/trade lists. I am starting to dabble on Ecrater as well. Just yesterday I found an Amazo for $12.97 at a Walmart. I plan on charging $30 because the card is beat on a corner. Is that wrong, when I had to pay $37 for the one I NEEDED for MY collection? At the same store, I got a set of Walmarts Marvel Legends withe the other Daredevil. I HATE Marvel! I only buy them on clearance or on request, which these were. In one hour of the phone call notifying 2 people, ALL were gone at $17 each. Was that wrong? Is it scalping to sell vintage stuff you may find cheap for the current rate? I do that too. How does it apply to stuff you may find at flea markets/tag sales, that you can market in the direction of fellow collectors, or leave it to be thrown away? I operate under the " I have it and you don't." philosophy. I personally feel you are paying extra for my forsight to pick them up or identify (in the case of vintage stuff) and redistribute them to fan collectors. Be it current or vintage stuff. I know and look forward to hearing from resale haters, but I hope people I have dealt with will comment as well.
  22. Fates library is just sheer awesomeness!!!
  23. Well, as most everone else I am only after Luthor and Batman. If anyone is interested in Superman, Catwoman, or Two-Face, I"ll even include his DCSH tommy gun. LMK
  24. Yup, I agree. Final Crisis was crap. Though the sideline books are good: Rage of the Red Lanterns Requim Rogues Revenge
