send them a money order?
-
to me, the packaging isn't the big problem. it's those boxes making their way onto shelves. they can update the package all they want, it won't matter if no one ever finds it.

based on appearances, routh looks to be a good choice. i just hope the script is good. some of the rumours floating around really puts a ? on things.

$49 cnd. it's usually a few dollars more as the months pass. not a great savings, but better than nothing. i got mine at walmart.
-
whoops, can someone move this to dc. i pressed the wrong button.
-
just a reminder. i picked it up today, always seems cheaper when it first comes out.
-
where did you find it?

Transformers Alternators - An Issue In Canada???
eclipse1 replied to Reboundicon's topic in Transformers
haven't seen anything in a long time. i asked the guys at various walmarts and they were clueless. to say that they weren't selling well enough is just a load of BS. you see a lot of other crappy shelf warmers that they continue to bring in. i've checked many walmarts, so it seems to be consistent. maybe they weren't selling at TRU because of the higher prices, but that's not the fault of the product. i've pretty much given up on the line unless i can find a way to find them consistently. -
btw, the darker colours kinda remind me of the evil superman in superman 3.
-
that's a great revised pic, seems to make all the difference. i think the colours and proportions can use a touch up. guess i'll have to get used to it. looking at a picture of him as clark kent though, he looks just like christopher reeve.

it says $66 on the sale price, but that's probably not going to make much of a difference. it was on sale pretty long ago, so i don't know if the stores would still have it. that was a clearance price at walmart. try a smaller chain that, maybe they have it in the back somewhere.

i think sometimes we can be loose on the rules, i mean it makes a huge difference if your collecting for value and you hope to sell. if it's for yourself, i'd rather know that the product is what i'm getting. especially something like this, where the box can be opened and resealed with ease.
-
if your not planning on selling it anyways, just open it and take a look, you can put it back in the box afterwards.
-
maybe they'll put outback in the mix.

it'd not that i think the movie will be directed poorly, but that aspect of the movie would stick on my mind and that's all i'll be focussing on, this kid. it diverts attention away form the rest of the movie. i guess i would just be sore about it. since it's just a rumour, i'll wait and see, but it would mean that i will wait a few days after the release to make sure that it's not a flop. if the rumours are true, it'll be too much for me to accept.

it is pointless. why can't you do it without the kid, lois trying to move on after 6 years and is engaged, clark/superman has to win her back? that's the same thing. if they think they can add a kid in there for a few cute scenes, they're just shooting themselves in the foot. the story of lois and clark/ superman has always been a huge part of the superman universe. there was always this bond that can't be so easily broken. a few people may not see it as such a big deal, maybe even accept the fact it reflects a modern norm, but to me, it does change things in that the bond isn't as strong. it really changes the way we view the relationship between the two characters. if they get back together, what's next, cheating? it's like if we changed the story of snow white in the same way. while snow white is waiting for the prince, she has several torrid affairs with the dwarves and gets pregnant by one of them. she needs a paternaity test to figure it out. then the prince comes along and takes her away only to reveal that he himself, is having a gay affair. doesn't sound right, does it. kinda takes the fairy tale out of things and that's the same way i see this rumour. it was a fairly tale relationship ruined. why does everything have to be turned into an episode of jerry springer.
-
i couldn't care less if singer or the actor is gay, as long as superman is still the same superman. it's sad if there is a secret agenda here, but as long as it doesn't affect the product on the screen, i'm fine. now i know these are just rumours, but i think the rumour about lois having a kid is much worse than the gay issues off set . superman gone for 6 years and a 5 year old kid would mean lois moved on the second he left. that's not the lois i know from the legend. it's one thing to bend the storyline, but going too far would alienate many fans. if this is confirmed, i doubt i'll waste my time seeing it.

the poor distribution is really upsetting. it's enough to turn someone away from a good hobby. i guess they all graduated form the acme school of business.
-
i've bought from toynk, very fair prices and prompt service.
-
excellent, that collection sure has come a long way since the last pics i saw. a lot of nice new additions.
-
perceptor was a cool character and toy. it's a pretty unique mold and i'm glad they're doing this reissue. i'd rather have this now than another previously reissued mold.

if you had a long ruler that could run through the whole box, then maybe try slipping in small cardboard tabs to keep things up. or if yu can somehow get a piecce of thread through to the other side and tie it around the top. it probably wouldn't be too noticeable.
-
i think a ruler is thin and strong enough. start from the opposite end of the box and slowly prop it up until the ruler goes all the way to the other side.

growing up, when i think superman, christopher reeves instinctively comes to mind. to me, he set the benchmark for that role. it is sad to hear of his passing, especially since he has made so many strides towards a recovery. he was truly someone i admired, not just for his role as superman, but also his efforts in his battle to overcome his spinal chord injuries. he was a true role model and someone who embodied the ideals of a hero. he will be missed.
