I'm not Funko's biggest fan, but these look pretty decent, at least for grainy images. I'm cautiously optimistic about the Firefly figures now.

Frankly, it was pretty amazing that the lined survived for so long at retail. That was already a major achievement, given the eclectic character selection. Because they were able to get us thus far, I almost can't fault Mattel for the eventual decline of the line. I'm sorry DCIE didn't go through for you guys. I personally couldn't justify paying almost $30 a figure (after tax and shipping) and not even have a choice as to which figures I wanted to buy. Although what puzzles me is how DC Direct can still produce figures at a similar price point and not rely on large retailers, while Mattel can't.

I want to remove a Proton Pack from an extra Venkman figure I picked up back in the big sale of 2011. Has anyone done this? Any tips, suggestions? Or a link to a thread to someone who's done this before? Thanks.

RTBY Peter Venkman w/Taxi Cab Ghost

Going off on a tangent here... do you think Mattel would ever rerelease the props? I would love to pick up a PKE Meter. Once they release Dana, I'll be done with this line. Unless they have more 40% off sales in which I can pick up things I missed for cheap with combined shipping. -
I find the shipping prices intolerable.

Just received mine today. I haven't had a chance to get batteries and try it out yet, but it looks good. I do wish they used nicer materials (ie metal), but I guess that would've increased the price point. -
Mattel Cancels Club Ecto-1 Subscription for 2012
SlushyFrog replied to TOYMAN65's topic in Properties From The 80 & 90's
It's no surprise that this line is ending already. I mean how many figures can you make from two movies where the casts are predominantly the same? It would've been nice though, if Mattel hadn't stretched it they way that they did and gave us figures that we (well, really *I*) would've wanted. I definitely would've bought Gozer, Terror Dogs, Dana, Janine, and Vigo. I mean, I even bought Walter Peck! However, I skipped out on the variations of the main guys. I think I would've been more predisposed to buying them wearing plainclothes rather than the courtroom and ready to believe you outfits. I also definitely would've bought ghosts on their own if they came in the right scale and had enough accessories to justify the high price point. Anyway, I'm happy with what I have -- once I get the Dana figure that is . -
Mattel should just do the reverse of what they've been doing previously: put one "collectors" figure in each wave of "all star" figures. Sure, it would cut the number of "collectors" figures by a third, but at least they'd have a chance of seeing retail. i have no real knowledge about toy production, but it sounds good to me.

I'm going to have to pass on the subscription. My interest in the line was already winding down, and now the figures are going to be even more expensive. $15 plus tax and shipping no longer seems worth it to me -- and yes, I can afford it. I guess I'd just rather spend my money elsewhere now. For the price of the subscription + tax and shipping, I can probably afford a couple Hot Toys figures, which will be much more impressive on the shelf.

Twenty is a lot of waves. I've already started to skip figures, so it feels appropriate (to me at least) that the line should be ending. I was prepared to stop collecting these.
-
I bought the first three: Hal, Tomar-Re, and Rot Lop Fan. I might just keep Hal, since I'm not THAT interested in these. I certainly don't want to pay $15 * 11 figures to get Parallax. That is ridiculous.

DCUC Series 18 now up for pre-order at BBTS.
SlushyFrog replied to Capt.S.G.Wiseman's topic in DC Comics
Man I don't recognize any of these characters. I may stop collecting DCUC after wave 17. These have gotten too expensive anyway. . -
This is a pretty comprehensive site listing all the minimates ever released, along with their accessories. http://minimatedatabase.com/chars.php?i=391&n=Deadpool Although this might not answer your original question, as the listing for the Heroes and Adversaries set hasn't been filled in.

I was thrilled to find some hint of Wave 14 at my closest Walmart (which isn't even that close). I was ready to purchase the three Wave 14 figures they had, until I started wondering why the packaging looked kinda beat up. Turns out someone had removed the CnC parts, carefully sealed the packaging, and returned them to Walmart. It also explains why the packaging felt so light.

It's Time to Start Going to KMart, Wave 15 is on the Way!

I received OMAC and Jemm from Amazon today. Hopefully I'll get the others soon. Not having to go hunting is great... but I'm not sure which Starman I'll end up getting. -
shoot i forgot about this. now i need to get plastic man somehow.
-
man, i'm not really sure what to do about the subscription. the offerings have left me cold. i'm a pretty big ghostbusters fans, but i dont really think i need a set of courtroom figures, a set of lab coat figures, a set of marshmellow figures, or even the gb2 uniforms really. and because each figure is so expensive... $20 (+ tax and shipping is almost $30 per figure), i don't think i can justify getting all of these. i'd only want the exclusive figure for the accessories, but those alone certainly aren't worth $140. basically all i'd want is probably the louis figure and maaaaybe the unslimed figures. but yeah, these figures are too pricey to collect all the variants of the ghostbusters. now im glad they actually made a walter peck + containment unit.
-
ugh... i haven't had any problems getting any of the ghostbusters figures thus far, so i am not a fan of this subscription service. unless the exclusive figure is a must have, i will probably pass, as i can't imagine all six figures being worth buying. these figures are suuuper expensive when you factor in shipping, and it sounds like i won't even be able to combine shipping with non subscription purchases.

DC Universe Classics Wave 15 Revealed - And Coming To Kmart First
SlushyFrog replied to JayC's topic in DC Comics
I'm not thrilled about getting a SC Batman, but since they're making one, they should've at least gotten the bat symbol on the outfit. I'm fine with his outfit being yellow since that's the general motif. I could believe that the outfit that Batman was wearing in that one panel was incomplete. -
DC Universe Classics Wave 15 Revealed - And Coming To Kmart First

What comic did he first appear in? I'd rather get a real comic character than this weirdo. He didn't appear in any comic, that doesn't make him any less cool. Look at Goddess or Tytus from MOTUC...neither were part of the figure series. What is so weird about him? Why is he so bad? I don't understand the hate or dislike from a character because he didn't appear in any of the comic books. Judging by your handle you're a big Superpowers fan, so I can understand why you think it's cool. I do kinda think it's cool that DCUC is paying homage to the old line of toys. However, I think there are many people who didn't grow up with the Superpowers line of toys, such as myself, and think Golden Pharaoh or Cyclotron are taking up a spot that could've been given to a DC character they're actually familiar with based on the comics. Also, why pay money for a figure that isn't canon? Golden Pharaoh will probably contain the figure stand, so at least there's the option of not picking it up. With each passing wave I recognize fewer and fewer characters. I will still pick up all the figs to build the BAF tho. -
im in no hurry for bruce to come back. i've been enjoying dick as bats and damien as robin.
-
I'm with you guys. Not a fan of these at all. It kinda boggles the mind how these decisions get made. There must be some other factors at work here that the 4HM or whoever's coming up with the 5 pack cannot control. If any one of us can immediately see the obvious flaws of the body choices... I would like to think the designers can as well.

I received my first shipment of figs from Amazon: Donna Troy, Superboy, Cyclotron, Blue Beetle, and Modern Cheetah. I don't recall being able to specify which Cheetah... but I'm glad I got the modern one as I prefer the modern version of characters. Still waiting on Blue Devil and Negative Man. I've gotten shipping notices for them though... separate ones, haha. Man, I am so glad Amazon is offering these now. That's how I got most of Wave 12 (even got the variant Spectre). No more driving around and hunting. With no sales tax it's even cheaper than finding them in stores. Unfortunately, Wave 14 is a Walmart exclusive and those are far from me. Ughghghghghgh.
