According to Hasbro the Black Timber is the "variant" as they made less of those. It is a "running change" to the gray timber going forward. So, if you think this black timber will be like the Wave 1 SE from the 25th line, pick some up. Otherwise, running change from black to gray. -Kevin

That boat actually belongs to TNI mod: Card. -Kevin

I hate to break it to you... DTC wouldn't sell... They already tried it once. Different product construction, same product. -Kevin

Will the 25th Style Adventure teams be making their way to retail?
Admiral Hunter replied to DRACOREX's topic in G.I. Joe
Really...? They charge HALF of what the majority of customizers charge... And let's not forget they are a company that needs to turn a profit to keep providing toys that we WANT but Hasbro WILL NOT produce. (Yes, I said we. It's we as soon as more than one person wants it, so technically it's also a toy we don't want?) Example: Alyosha charges about 60-80 for some figures UNPAINTED. (I know you can make your own customs for cheaper) -Kevin -

It's lame because of the cost and because Hasbro could have put a doctor venom instead of turds like like the buzzer and ripper single card repaints, or the yellow python patrol CG, or the light blue ninja viper or... see the list goes on. Honestly you guys can't possibly think Hasbro would take a chance on any AT figures in 25th style over canon/homage repaints? 25th/ARAH collectors' want lists, before the reveal at the Con, probably looked somthing like: a) lots of ARAH 25th updates we still haven't seen yet (SciFi, Lowlight,Lifeline, etc.) and no thought of an AT repaint/remold, or the same list with AT as a fantasy wish I agree with wishing for a Dr. Venom, but either way, with the club doing it now we might never see a mass retail release. I would be more interested to find out the sales numbers of these AT sets to pre-ARAH collectors to see if they would be willing to buy product that isn't 12" It was already mentioned that there would be no Doctor Venom so the club decided to pick up the slack. And the 12" crowd appeared happy while Brian was walking around the show room showing it off to them (aside from the panel). -Kevin -

How is it lame for the GIJCC to produce something and then sell it in their club store? If you don't want to buy from them I'm sure other retailers like BBTS will pick them up and sell them to you for far more of a premium. -Kevin -

I'm assuming you have the tens of thousands of dollars to pay for these molds? Don't forget not only are the molds IN CHINA but they also are a) heavy and expensive as hell. For some companies it's cheaper/safer to destroy than to sell. -Kevin -
I think it cost more than that when it was released at retail. -Kevin

Not just availability, but because of the "exclusive" nature, they are hella-expensive when they are available. Right! If you're an average fan, the odds are stacked against you that you'll actually get one. You have to deal with vendors who have laid awake nights thinking of little tricks around any kind of rules or limits set on purchasing. Then you have Hasbro who will be "sold out" early on except for the 10 cases they're waiting on to come back from being AFA graded so they can sell them on HTS for hundreds of dollars. Your last ditch effort MIGHT be to log on to their site early Tuesday morning and hit the refresh button on your computer 20 times so that MAYBE you can grab one of the five that they've listed for regular price (but if you need a bathroom break, forget it)......Like I say, none for me. (aren't I a downer ) As an alternative, I think that weekend I'll go to ebay and put a bid down on a vintage figure I don't aready own. Chances are that I'll come out with a better figure at a better price. Hasbro is not HTS @hmmm@ How aweoms would it be if people realized that? -Kevin

Now that Resolute is over, something I don't understand
Admiral Hunter replied to BoomBatty's topic in G.I. Joe
Oddly enough, GSCBR has always provided the "Here's how it is"-comments... And then there's everyone getting upset over it. How droll... I thought everyone knew it was Test footage. It was stated all over the place. But, that was almost a year ago too. Guess people forgot. (Yes, I know I'm better than everyone else because I didn't forget, now you too can insult me for my difference of opinion!) -Kevin -
Please explain why some people don't buy 25th
Admiral Hunter replied to Hammerfel's topic in G.I. Joe
Personally, if I could find someone to take all of my Joe vs Cobra, Spy Troops, Valor vs Venom, DTC and 25th off my hands for a fair price, I'd jump at it. -Kevin -
What are some of the more sought out vehicles?
Admiral Hunter replied to Prime2099's topic in G.I. Joe
I'm currently not in a vehicle chasing mood... But I think the hardest set to find complete these days is an Eco-Warriors Toxo Lab! I still have mine from my childhood... And two of the Street Fighter "Dojo." -Kevin -
where is a good place to find the desert and arctic sets?
Admiral Hunter replied to pesatyel's topic in G.I. Joe
Clam happens to live in Sacramento, CA... Not a small population there at all, either... However, he's had great luck. I live an hour or so away from him, and I have horrible luck most of the time. Wave 12 just started showing up (army builder wave). But, unlike Clam, I order all my stuff online so that I don't have to go chasing. -Kevin -
What would be your preference for a 25th style Con set?
Admiral Hunter replied to canprime's topic in G.I. Joe
ok... yeah, we want characters from the 80's that Hasbro hasn't done yet... but why they hell would you want a con exclusive set of them?? I wouldn't ever want them to make something that I have to have.. then you have to pay 160 bucks for it Exactly. Look how pissed off everyone got about DTC Wave 4 or Classics Thundercracker, Thrust and Dirge. Because I'm selfish and greedy, I'd be completely okay with them releasing a 25th Con set with highly desirable characters because I would sell them for a nice premium! However, I would prefer the Con sets to stay as RAH-related as possible. -Kevin -
I have at least 6 left somewhere around here. -Kevin
-
Too late! I know you Jason. And I think both the RAH and G1-only fans have a lot to complain about. The stuff that worked 20 years ago isn't working as well now. -Kevin

Well, for JvC I purchased one of everything, sometimes two. Spy Troops was two of everything, with five of each army builder. VvV was two of everything wtih five of each army builder and 10-20 of the ones I really liked. Did not spend a dime on Sigma Six. Buy two of everything 25th, and two more of each army builder. So, the JvC/ST/VvV line sold better to me! (Mostly I am not buying as much because I don't have room, and haven't found anything truly exciting yet.) -Kevin
-
I went two years ago. Wasn't in town for it last year, and won't be again this year. It's a nice little show. I don't spend more than a few hours at it before I call Clam 10-times (but he's probably still asleep!)!!! -Kevin

2009 Joe Con Information And New 2009 Resolute Comic 2-Packs

No need to defend it. Most folks who go to the Con only go for the Con, and leave right afterwards. Only helping the food service industry from our tourism! -Kevin -

I bet he's a Sunny D "lover", too! Go Orange, Go!!! But have you seen his awesome Cobra Mountain v2 playset!? It's quite possibly the coolest play set ever... -Kevin

That is the best description you've ever given for why you get out of collecting and back in. And I'll save the pot shots until you decide to sell again. -Kevin

how do u display the Cobra Desert & Arctic Assault Squad
Admiral Hunter replied to abazou's topic in G.I. Joe
I'll be swapping heads on a few of my figures so that they're more appropriate! I just haven't gotten around to opening them. And I know I'll forget I swapped heads, and later think I got some special set, or someone elses set is wrong. -Kevin
