Hasbro to bring back window packaging in 2024!
ransomz replied to toynewman's topic in Action Figure News
I'm perfectly fine without the plastic. I'm only buying from online sources these days so I don't get to eyeball the figures before I buy them. I haven't had any quality control issues in a long time. I can see if someone left a figure mint in package, they would at least want to get to actually see the figure sometimes. I open everything though. The plastic window doesn't do anything for me. -

I'm sorry Titans is ending. I wasn't expecting much when I gave it a try but I've enjoyed the series. -

Great line. I'm down for all of it but ... where are my Dreadlocks?? -
I don't see how Hasbro could stop an etailer from putting up pre-orders. BBTS or whoever orders how many ever boxes they are buying of a particular wave. They can then list those figures for pre-order that they put in a purchase order for on their site, no? If the customer pre-order number goes over their merchant purchase order, they just go back to the manufacture and put in an additional purchase order. Isn't that how it works?

The First 10 Projects For James Gunn's DCU Announced
ransomz replied to JayC's topic in Entertainment News
While it seems odd they're starting off this shared universe with at least some of the characters being established, I really don't want to see Superman or Batman's origin story again so maybe it's just as well. A middle aged Batman and a young Superman also seems like an unusual choice. I enjoyed Gunn's Suicide Squad and Peacemaker so I will definitely be giving the new movies and shows a shot. How bad could they be? -
Would You Buy A G.I. Joe Classified Haslab Dragonfly Assault Copter?
ransomz replied to JayC's topic in Action Figure News
A 6 inch scale Dragonfly would be great. So would a Terrordrome. Not to mention a Thunder Machine. That last one would be my first pick. -
Collecti-dults. Toyers. Actioneers.

I read the article somewhere announcing Gunn was scrapping Cavill in favor of a reboot. Fine, not a big surprise. The DCU has been a mixed bag and how many more movies are they really going to make with that cast? Rebooting is inevitable. I felt bad for Cavill who seemed like he was getting jerked around a bit. The DCU is getting rebooted. Fine. Hope it's good. I will check it out, either in the theaters or on HBOMax or whatever they're going to change the name to. The interesting part of the article was reading the comments. Woah. There was a stream of comments just slamming this new movie that hasn't even been written yet. People vowing never to watch it. Why? Because Cavill is getting jerked around? Because the DCU was so great? It seemed like some overreaction. I understand Gunn's new tweet. I liked the Guardians movies. I liked his Suicide Squad movie. I'm hoping Peacemaker gets a season 2 despite the reboot. I'm looking forward to seeing what new thing he does with Superman and the rest of DCU. It could be great. I'm not going to condemn the movie before it's even written.

Action figures hooked me back in to buying them with Toy Biz's Spider-Man. The figures are quite crappy by today's standards but they were great at the time. Spidey was a big part of my childhood and I wish I'd had figures that cool as a child. Their whole 5 inch line was really cool and I went in deep. Then Marvel Legends came out. Wow. Whole other level. I've seen more and more adults in the toy aisles hunting for figures over the years. Now it's all online which just makes it easier. There's just so many quality figures being made, I see no reason to stop. The name "kidult" is a bit lame though. I'm saying this as someone who embraces being a Trekkie.

I'm fine with the casting of the major players in the DCU I just think the stories have been weak. The Superman movies have been flawed but I don't think that's Cavill's fault. Gal Gadot works for me as Wonder Woman but I thought the first movie was a bit over-rated and the second one was just a bit silly. It reminded me of getting the kids in the audience to clap to get Peter Pan to fly. If they decide to do a re-launch built around Matt Reeves Batman, I'd be fine with that too. They could do an Earth 1, Earth 2 thing.

As long as they come with "real monster smell" I am totally in

I also like the Lady Jaye figure. I'm not a completist but I like all the figures that's I've gotten. I just checked Hasbro Pulse. It says Zaranna is shipping 12.5. I can't wait for more Deadnoks. In fact, I'd really like them to do a 3 pack of Ripper, Torch and Buzzer, just to get me started. If they want to Haslab the Thunder Machine, I'd probably buy it.
