  1. I suspect that Whiplash will build up his suit in the movie. He's probably going after Iron Man to steal some tech.
  2. They're saying the villain is identified with New York. I doubt they can use Kingpin because of Daredevil, so I'm guessing it's Lizard. Alligators in the sewers is a New York urban myth, so he would fit that.
  3. The only complaint I have, and it's not that big, is that Flash is kind of bulky. He should be leaner. Super-strength isn't his power, running fast is. He looks like a weight lifter.
  4. I find it hard to believe this is actually the deal. The whole MU line is kind of built around Fury. How could they make him so expensive to get? There must be other ways to get him. We'll see. If buying digital comics is the only way to get him, then I'm passing.
  5. I would imagine there will a new TV show. I mean with the kind of rave reviews and money coming in, how could there not be? I don't think the show is going to be about Kirk though. I had heard there was an idea about Starfleet Academy a few years ago. I could see them doing something like that, with Medea being in charge. Maybe Pike will be a teacher there. Perhaps some of the cast, Spock or Scotty or whoever, will stop by from time to time. I saw the movie a second time and loved it just as much. I also agree that it was very clever how they preserved the classic Trek history, as proven by the existence of Nimoy's Spock, yet still get to do a reboot where they can do anything. So will V'Ger still how up? Khan? That giant cigar looking for the whales? Is old Spock going to warn the Klingons that their homeworld is going to get blown up, too?
  6. You guys are harsh critics. I liked the DD directors cut and I liked the Jane Punisher, though both did have problems. I also liked the X-Men movies, even the 3rd one which was a little too busy. I don't think Ghost Rider was crappy, either, though it wasn't great. Nobody's going to defend Elektra. That was as bad and boring as it gets.

    DCUC vs ML

I'm a Marvel fan, though I do also enjoy DC from time to time. Marvel Legends are overall an awesome line of action figures that seriously raised the bar for what consumers expect from their toys. This is similar in a way to how Marvel comics raised the bar for main stream story telling in a comic. Obivously ML has had some very crappy figures, but the concept is great and there are a lot of truly excellent figures. Hopefully the line is going to continue some how, perhaps as 2-packs exclusive to Toys R Us. DCUC is also an impressive line, with much more consistant quality, though perhaps not as innovative or detailed as the better ML figures. As far as availability goes, I haven't seen much of waves 5, 6 or 7 at retail. There are a couple of wave 2 and wave 4 figures hanging on the pegs at my local stores. As far as cartoons, Justice League was great. I'm enjoying the new Wolverine cartoon but I wish there were more episodes. Most comic book movies, whether Marvel or DC, have been flawed. The last two Batmans were great and so was Iron Man. Which company has had more duds or hits? I don't know and it really doesn't matter. I hope they're all great because I'm a fan of super-hero movies.
  8. I agree with the original post that all the elements of a good Star Trek movie seemed to be present, and yet for some reason I found the movie boring. I'm not quite sure why it didn't work for me. There some small things, like Ryker doing an action scene and the mentall handicapped Data, but the real problem is that I just wasn't caring about the action on the screen. The plot sounds fine, there was just some problem with the execution.
  9. What an amazing movie. As a fan of the classic Trek show and movies, I really enjoyed the movie. I wondered if I would have any problem getting past other people playing these characters that I've been big fans of my whole life, but I didn't. I think the whole cast did a great job of caputuring the flavor of the original cast without resorting to characture. Doing that with Shatner was probably the hardest since he's such an over the top actor, but Chris Pine did a great job. There was a lot of humor but it wasn't jokey. I can't wait for the sequel!
  10. Well, what about Killer Moth? You can't get much lamer than that. Stripped pants? Weirdo.
  11. I thought Cyclops couldn't control his blasts because Sinister messed around with his brain in the orphanage/bad guy laboratory?
  12. I thought the movie was alright but that they didn't do a very good job establishing motivations and relationships. Sabertooth wants to kill Wolverine because he feels abandoned by him? Sounded weak. I thought there were some cool moments but they weren't really earned. Sabertooth saving Wolverine because he wants to be the one to kill him? Cool, but why does he want to kill him? And why he is suddenly called Logan? Because it's printed on the back of his dog tags for some reason? And Logan has 2 to 4 bullet holes in the adamantium plating over his skull? Are the bullets still floating around in his brain? How did they happen to only take out his memories instead of his reasoning or sense of smell or whatever? That whole adamantium bullet thing was weak, I thought. Overall I thought the movie tried to get too much stuff in. It would have been better if they had cut out 1/3 of the plot and characters and focused more on the other 2/3. I did like the acting and there were some cool scenes. I liked Wolverine taking out Gambit with an elbow. Deadpool was pretty cool, though I wish there had been more of him. I had one of the two Deadpool endings, the one where he picks up his own head, the mouth stitching cut open, and the head smiles.
  13. I've never seen this on the shelves. Too bad because it's a pretty nice wave.
  14. What a great thread! These action shots are really quite good.
  15. The set was actually $130 from Toy Globe, plus shipping.
  16. I went to Toyglobe also. I don't work there. The figures took about a week and the price was reasonable. All the figures including varients were included. My Walmart sucks so I wasn't going to take any chances. The figures are all pretty good, though I think Tigra suffers the most because she doesn't have double jointed knees.

    DCUC Wave 8

I haven't seen waves 5,6 or 7 at retail. I think I may be done with this line.
  18. I'm definitely a fan of the MU line so far. The only one I passed on was the fugly Punisher. My only complaints are Black Panther's coolats and that my Bullseye's torso spins around like a top. The second wave has some noticeable improvements over the first wave. I am definitely into this line and plan to keep buying new characters that are put out. I will not be buying a ton of Spider-Mans and Wolverines, though I know some duplication is unfortunately unavoidable with 2-packs and box sets. I know those aren't to sucker me in though, that's done to attract new buyers. While I really, really, really hope ML continues as well, I do intend to buy the MU lines and look forward to vehicles and playsets.
  19. I think they should reboot and take Smallville to the big screen.
  20. I agree. I'd be buying a lot of them if they had MU level articulation.
  21. The Wolverine figures look great. I'm looking forward to seeing wave 2. The movie isn't coming out for a couple of months so I'm sure we are going to be seeing a lot of these figures in the near future. I definitely wouldn't resort at Ebay at this point.
  22. This is the thing that has got me the most jazzed about the 4 inch scale - they are going to make the BAF's look even bigger and cool. Now that I have a few of the 4 inch I can safely say that I still prefer the 6 inch scale, but the 4 inch definitely has its place.
  23. These figures do seem to be hanging around on the pegs in my area. I've passed on the line because of the poor articulation. Otherwise I'd probably have gotten quite a few by now. If they didn't have t-crotches, I think that might be enough to get me to buy them. As it is, I'm passing.
  24. Are they still making DCUC? The last wave I've seen in the stores was wave 4.

    Sgt Slaughter

I was just comparing the new MU Daredevil who has the torso tilt and the new 3 3/4 Undertaker who has the waist swivel and ab crunch. Suprisingly, they both have about the same range of motion. Daredevil's torso joint let's him lean about as far backwards and forwards as Undertaker's ab crunch. The both of a 360 swivel. Asthetically, I think the torso tilt looks a little better since it tends to flow with the rib cage definition. As long as Hasbro can make an effort to ensure there is decent range of motion with the torso twist, it's not a minus.
