  1. I pre-ordered my set. These have a lot of potential. My favorite character is a secondary one, Clutch, and I hope they make him soon, with classic green.
  2. I was a little non-plussed when I first saw the Scarlet and Roadblock pictures yesterday. The ones today are much better. The more I look at these figures, the more I want them. Duke particularly looks good.
  3. From what I've seen in the media, I don't associate tea baggers with racism. I can see their being offended to be indirectly labeled as such, but the fact this made a national news outlet seems a little over the top. The thing I always liked about Marvel is that the stories are set in the real world. That doesn't mean they should wrongly disparage a group though.
  4. I love the Joe alien customs. I totally want those! Sucks that they're customs. That werewolf figure is really cool too. I wonder what the bases are?
  5. I suspect that Whiplash will build up his suit in the movie. He's probably going after Iron Man to steal some tech.
  6. They're saying the villain is identified with New York. I doubt they can use Kingpin because of Daredevil, so I'm guessing it's Lizard. Alligators in the sewers is a New York urban myth, so he would fit that.
  7. The only complaint I have, and it's not that big, is that Flash is kind of bulky. He should be leaner. Super-strength isn't his power, running fast is. He looks like a weight lifter.
  8. I find it hard to believe this is actually the deal. The whole MU line is kind of built around Fury. How could they make him so expensive to get? There must be other ways to get him. We'll see. If buying digital comics is the only way to get him, then I'm passing.
  9. I would imagine there will a new TV show. I mean with the kind of rave reviews and money coming in, how could there not be? I don't think the show is going to be about Kirk though. I had heard there was an idea about Starfleet Academy a few years ago. I could see them doing something like that, with Medea being in charge. Maybe Pike will be a teacher there. Perhaps some of the cast, Spock or Scotty or whoever, will stop by from time to time. I saw the movie a second time and loved it just as much. I also agree that it was very clever how they preserved the classic Trek history, as proven by the existence of Nimoy's Spock, yet still get to do a reboot where they can do anything. So will V'Ger still how up? Khan? That giant cigar looking for the whales? Is old Spock going to warn the Klingons that their homeworld is going to get blown up, too?
  10. You guys are harsh critics. I liked the DD directors cut and I liked the Jane Punisher, though both did have problems. I also liked the X-Men movies, even the 3rd one which was a little too busy. I don't think Ghost Rider was crappy, either, though it wasn't great. Nobody's going to defend Elektra. That was as bad and boring as it gets.

    DCUC vs ML

I'm a Marvel fan, though I do also enjoy DC from time to time. Marvel Legends are overall an awesome line of action figures that seriously raised the bar for what consumers expect from their toys. This is similar in a way to how Marvel comics raised the bar for main stream story telling in a comic. Obivously ML has had some very crappy figures, but the concept is great and there are a lot of truly excellent figures. Hopefully the line is going to continue some how, perhaps as 2-packs exclusive to Toys R Us. DCUC is also an impressive line, with much more consistant quality, though perhaps not as innovative or detailed as the better ML figures. As far as availability goes, I haven't seen much of waves 5, 6 or 7 at retail. There are a couple of wave 2 and wave 4 figures hanging on the pegs at my local stores. As far as cartoons, Justice League was great. I'm enjoying the new Wolverine cartoon but I wish there were more episodes. Most comic book movies, whether Marvel or DC, have been flawed. The last two Batmans were great and so was Iron Man. Which company has had more duds or hits? I don't know and it really doesn't matter. I hope they're all great because I'm a fan of super-hero movies.
  12. I agree with the original post that all the elements of a good Star Trek movie seemed to be present, and yet for some reason I found the movie boring. I'm not quite sure why it didn't work for me. There some small things, like Ryker doing an action scene and the mentall handicapped Data, but the real problem is that I just wasn't caring about the action on the screen. The plot sounds fine, there was just some problem with the execution.
  13. What an amazing movie. As a fan of the classic Trek show and movies, I really enjoyed the movie. I wondered if I would have any problem getting past other people playing these characters that I've been big fans of my whole life, but I didn't. I think the whole cast did a great job of caputuring the flavor of the original cast without resorting to characture. Doing that with Shatner was probably the hardest since he's such an over the top actor, but Chris Pine did a great job. There was a lot of humor but it wasn't jokey. I can't wait for the sequel!
  14. Well, what about Killer Moth? You can't get much lamer than that. Stripped pants? Weirdo.
  15. I thought Cyclops couldn't control his blasts because Sinister messed around with his brain in the orphanage/bad guy laboratory?
