  1. That is either a AK47 or AK74 with a M203 grenade launcher on it. The Israeli forces have some of those. I looked around, but couldn't find a pic of one anywhere. The scope on it is probably just some sort of aiming dot or basic sight.
  2. Outsider, I think you outbid me on that auction. No biggie, it was going to be a give away anyway.
  3. JayC, Great idea! I hope you don't mind if I put a little extra "selling" into the post. Here is the link to my site. Joe Reloaded.com The site itself is dedicated completely to the new Reloaded series by Devil's Due. Since the book is getting its start so is the site, but we have some really cool stuff thus far, so go by and check it out if you get a chance. Attached to the site are my forums. Joe Reloaded.com Forums This is a place dedicated to all the different versions of GI Joe comics, and I do mean ALL. We have sections for Marvel, DD, Dark Horse, Blackthorne, Hasbro, and the TF Crossovers. So if you are into the comics come on over and check it out. Phil
  4. I went with the comics. I love collecting Joe comics.
  5. For those interested, there is an exclusive interview with John Ney Rieber over at Joe Reloaded.com Click Here Be sure to tell us what you think in the thread below the interview thread.
  6. You have just asked the million dollar question. (Figure of speech, no money will be coming your way.) What is the deal with Snake-Eyes? We got a glimpse of him in the Reloaded Prologue, and now in Reborn, but is he a Joe? Is an indepentent operator? What is the deal? Questions questions questions. At this point all we can do is guess.
  7. Yes there is. GI Joe Reborn Incentive There is what it looks like.
  8. No, GI Joe Reborn is a different artist.
  9. GI Joe Reborn DID come out today, along with the poster book and the Joe Reborn Incentive cover. All VERY much worth the money. GI Joe Reborn is AWESOME, a great way to intro the team.
  10. Alright, I know you guys have been waiting for this as much as I have. First let me say that First Federal Comics in Austin, TX ROCKS! I say that because I walked in and grabbed my copy of Joe Reborn and went to the counter, the owner walks up and says "I have something for you" and produces a GI Joe Poster Book (not on the shelf) and a JOE REBORN INCENTIVE COVER and hands them to me. They sell the Incentive cover to me at cover price. Very cool. Here is a link to the store on the web. First Federal Comics go and check them out. Ok, now onto the story. SPOILERS below. WOW!!!! That is all I can say about the story. WOW! It blew me away. Here are the cast of characters that you will see. Scarlett - Master Sergeant- US Army - 525 Military Intelligence Brigade Duke - Master Sergeant- US Army - US Special Operations Command Hawk - Lt. Colonel - US Army - US Special Operations Command Lady Jaye - Captain - US Defense Intelligence Agency Stalker - E-7 (I think, need to re-read) - US Army - 3rd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment Beach Head - "Master Chief" - US Navy (I assume, never specifies) - Trainer of all Spec Ops types Rock and Roll - Chief Petty Officer - US Navy - SEAL Roadblock - Sergeant - US Marine - Force Recon Doc - Captain - US Army - Medical Command Snake-Eyes -???????? - he's in there but lots of questions. So...as you can tell the team has been shuffled up a bit. The characterizations are awesome. Hawk is the biggest baddest Hard Ass you will ever see. Duke is up there too, and Beach Head is in between Duke and Hawk. I want to re-read the story tonight to give some good details before I start throwing out generalities. I will say these things though. The good - the story, it ROCKED. The characterizations were awesome, and the team looks great. The not-so-good - some of the art. The characters look awesome, but some of the detail is lacking. Most specifically from my point of view, the uniforms. Some minor tweaking and they would have been great. The Reloaded crew need to take notes from the main book crew and tighten that up. The way I see it, if that is the only complaint I have, then it is a great book. So.....what did you guys think?
  11. There is a new Tim Seeley interview over at Joe Reloaded.com for those interested. Click Here
  12. Ashcan at GIJOEHQ.com Found it. Hope that helps.
  13. Ashcan on eBay There was also an online seller that had them too, but I can't remember who it was. They had them for about $15.00.
  14. According to Diamond Distro, and the newsletter my comic shop sends out. GI Joe Reborn is supposed to come out next week along with the GI Joe Poster book. Both are pirced at 4.95. I am not sure if the GI Joe Reborn Incentive cover will also be released next week or not, my guess is that it will be. GI JOE REBORN Incentive Cover
  15. Cobra Reborn Ashcan There is the Ashcan, and if you got the incentive cover for under 40.00 then you got a good deal. I lucked out with mine at 25.00 from a comic shop here in Austin ,but on ebay it has been going for 40.00 to 45.00 easy.
  16. Sorry to tell you, but unless you get them from a comic shop, then the only other place you will find them is online. The DD shop here. Is probably your best bet. Over on the DD board it was discussed that since they left the Image label they are having to get stores like Walden and Books a Million to order from them directly, so it may be a while. Sorry I couldn't give you better news.
  17. Here is info on GI Joe Reloaded #3 Reloaded #3 And issue #2 and #1 for those interested Reloaded #2 Reloaded #1
  18. I always love these top ten lists: 1.) Hawk 2.) Falcon 3.) Flint 4.) Tunnel Rat 5.) Stalker 6.) Beach Head 7.) Footloose 8.) Hit and Run 9.) Roadblock 10.) Wild Bill
  19. Alright kiddies, Cobra Reborn is out. Great first issue, great art, great story, great characters. Ok characters seen and named - Cobra Commander Destro Baroness Storm Shadow (refered to Tommy) Major Bludd Firefly Zartan Also seen, but unsure if these were who I think they were, the two personnel with CC in the parking garage, was that the Twins? Look closely and one has a scar and the other does not. Anyway, back to the story. This is a great issue in that you get to see the ground floor of Cobra. You learn Cobra Commander's story (more on that later), you see him recruit Destro, the Baroness, Major Bludd, Firefly, and Zartan. Plus you get to see just how much of threat he is. On the CC back story, here is what we learn. 1.) He was a used car salesman. 2.) He served in the military and was awarded a Purple Heart (which is for being wounded not valor). 3.) He was married and had a son. 4.) He had everything taken away. 5.) He is presumed dead. I liked the added touch in this story of him having served in the military. This opens the door to him having some connection with someone on the Joe team. (Possibly Hawk? How twisted would that be.) We learn that most of the characters are who they were in the original universe. Destro is an arms dealer. Baroness is Destro's significant other. Major Bludd is a mercenary, that is cold blooded and has a credible back story, and no bad poerty. Tommy is the Commander's right hand man and the only person CC trusts. Firefly is an assasin, who is very good. Zartan is a master of disguise and we never see his true face in this issue. Also, you see the Commander give an amazing speech and rally his troops. The uniforms look similar to the original troop uniforms which is good. You also see the far reaches of CC power. He has been planning his actions for over 10 years. He has loyal people in the House and Senate, he has multi-million dollar backers, and he has a small army that is capable of coordinated attacks. I can tell you, if Cobra was real based on this book, I would be scared to death. I could go on and on, but I want to see what you guys have to say. GO OUT AND BUY THIS BOOK!
  20. Actually CC, Rieber is doing both the Joe Reborn and the Reloaded series. Jenkins is only doing the Cobra Reborn title.
  21. I hadn't seen this mentioned yet. Over at Wizard Universe.com they have a 6 page first look of GI Joe Reborn. You can also see them at Joe Reloaded.com Once you are done looking at it, come over to Joe Reloaded.com Forums and discuss.
  22. A new interview with Brandon Jerwa can be found at Joe Reloaded.com Forums
  23. Flint is a Pilot, and carries a Warrent Officer commision. Most pilots who want to stay flying become warrent officers as opposed to commissioned officers. Commissioned Officers are usually at some point forced out of the cockpit and into a desk job, but warrents can keep flying all the way up the ranks (highest warrent officer rank is Chief Warrent Officer 5 - CW5). According to Flint's file card and a few other places it points toward him having advance tactical training as well. This is not a normal thing for warrents, as your description puts it they are specialists, and usually they are so specialized that they do not know much outside their field. Now I would like to point out that there are Warrent Officers in the Special Forces field. These warrents serve as team Executive Officers under a Special Forces Captain. However, it has never been established that Flint was a SF warrent, just a flight warrent. Hopefully that helps abit.
  24. Most people have already given the different places I would recommend, but the strategy that I would use is the following. 1.) eBay - on both comic lots and individual comics 2.) online stores - once you get your collection down to a few issues start hitting different online comic stores (ie. www.milehighcomics.com , www.finalfrontiertoys.com and several others.) Now you will pay more at some of these places, but I have delt with most of these places and the comics come well shipped and in the condition that they are said to be in. 3.) anywhere and anything else - once those two sources are dry for the comics that you need, do anything and go anywhere to get those final issues. This is the plan that I did for my Action Force collection this past year and it worked out great. Within about 9 months I had the entire collection. Good luck. PS. I totaly agree with the mini-statues, I got the Hawk one and it looks great on my desk.
