  1. Actually, these are comic style Spider-Man figures. So they're most welcome in my collection. Considering we kept getting movie-style ones in the Spidey SHS sets, even though they'd already started doing the comic accurate villains. The Doc Ock and comic Venom are well worth it regardless. Can't wait for Psylocke though.
  2. They're pretty cheapy plastic, from what I've seen. They're also not that well constructed. And I'm glad they won't make Marvel Zombies. The storyline was pretty craptastic.
  3. According to Foobeka over on the SHS Forums, the 4-Packs are hitting Wal-Marts now. He also managed to get us a picture of the poster included with the new 4-Packs. It's our first look of many of the sets. Gonna be a good year for SHS. Hulk / Spider-Woman Cable / Captain America Doc Ock / Symbiote Spider-Man Deadpool / Punisher (Post CW Cap Costume) Daredevil / Spider-Man Wolverine / Psylocke Venom / Spider-Man Ghost Rider / Hellcycle http://du5tin.proboards91.com/index.cgi http://img527.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dscn0106en7.jpg Here's a blow up of the new figures, so it's a bit easier to see.
  4. Everyone? I don't want one. I only collect X-Centric figures, so I have no interest in Ultron. I do support him being redone for those who want him though. But I'd rather see a more accurately scaled Beast. The Marvel Legends 4 Beast is horribly oversized compared to the other figures, and needs to be redone. Perhaps Perez Beast in one of the upcoming 2-Packs with Red Safari Jacket Wonder Man.
  5. Aye, wrong forum. It's not Union Jack. Rumors point to him being in Paul Cornell's Excalibur.
  6. Don't mind Electro16, NewGoblin23. He just hates anything fun. He's also mad that Electro hasn't gotten a SHS figure as of yet.
  7. Best place for the line seems to be Wal-Mart. I myself have had no problem finding almost all of them all at retail, except for Gambit/Rogue and Spider-Man/Kraven. And the only reason those two are difficult, is because the Holiday End Cap displays for Wal-Mart didn't include those two new sets. However both are shipping right now in the current retail cases. So more should turn up after X-Mas as January seems to be refresher cases hitting according to Entertainment Earth. I ended up resorting to Hasbro Toy Shop for my Gambit/Rogue pack. But they're currently sold out of them.

Because those characters continue to sell reliably? Or are characters who's costumes have changed over the years, so arn't just total rehashes. We'll likely see another Captain America next year for example, but the new Alex Ross design.
  9. Heh. While I love the Minimate Beast, it is a pretty shoddy toy. It should have had a peg for the hair, but no... it barely stays on. Even Mike Carey was amused by that.
  10. Fall apart? Hell, I've had Minimates break. And I only have a few of them. Last one was Shadowcat, who's leg snapped off.

Bcause it seems that normal Icons are going on hiatus, for the Iron Man and Hulk 12" figures.

Again, no there's not a lot of X-Men stuff. But they will be represented. They'll have figures in Marvel Legends, in the Marvel Legends 2-Packs, in the 3 3/4" line, and in SHS. For Starters. The end of 2008 and 2009 will be bigger for X-Men. Since we'll have a Wolverine movie and Wolverine and the X-Men.

That doesn't make it suspect. X-Men doesn't have a movie next year. So they're not getting a seperate line. They'll be part of the Marvel Legends Waves and 2-Packs, as well as the 3 3/4" line and SHS series. Since Wolverine and The X-Men doesn't premiere until late 2008, it's too early for news.

Yeah, that's not all the stuff for next year. There's Marvel Legends V missing in fact, which has Spiral. Don't forget there's also 6 Marvel Legends 2-Packs listed. So that's going to give us a bunch also. Some great news though, I can't wait for the 3 3/4" line. And more Superhero Squad!!
  15. What's wrong with multiple lines per license? Toy Companies are just trying to market to very different segments of the population. Why limit diversity, simply because one person doesn't like something. That's not how things work, no matter what you're talking about. Not everyone is going to like the same thing. That's the same reason that comic publishers publish so many books. So there will always be something on the racks that appeals to different people. Why do we need Superhero Squad? Cause it's a fun easy to collect toyline, that's made with little kids in mind but has enough grown-up appeal to appeal to the adult collector as well. That has managed in just a year to offer an incredibly diverse collection of characters, many who took years to be released in Marvel Legends. And next year is looking even better. And which is at a decent price point so that even the poorest kid can get a fun toy. How exactly are they a waste of your hard earned money? Unless you're telling us you hate them, but for some reason buy them anyway. That wouldn't make a great deal of sense on any level. It's not like someone at Hasbro is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to buy them. It's your choice to do so. And while you claim you're not trying to be harsh about it, you're coming off as incredibly condescending to anyone who does like the line. I for one buy them because they're what toys are meant to be. FUN. It seems that so many adult collectors don't seem to fathom that toys arn't meant to be collectable or for adults. They only became that thanks to companies like McFarlane. They're supposed to be fun for kids. It just so happens that those of us without kids choose to collect them, not for the sake of blowing money, but just because we happen to enjoy them. They're the best figure line in decades. Superhero Squad is Superhero Squad for adults. Period.
