  1. One picture. One single, solitary, promotional image for marketing purposes only. That's all it is. Nothing more, nothing less. It actually tells us nothing about the show's story other than the tired "good versus evil". Is it really that easy to jump to conclusions, people?
  2. Youtube + Transformers + Stop Motion = YES. On the frontpage of Youtube was this short. Wonderful stop motion animation involving Alternators. Enjoy.
  3. Let's just say that....Tom's doing ok and is a little busy at the moment.
  4. So pretty. There's no way that I'll be able to afford the set, but meh, no sense in me complaining about it, seeing as how the reasons why this is the Club exclusive and not in stores have already been stated addendum over and over. Nice job FP!
  5. In other news, Gamestop, EB, and other assorted game shops have been doing this very action since, oh, at least February.
  6. Ok, rumors via the Virginia State Police as of 3:30 today (a local friend of mine [an RU grad student] was talking to one today and was given information through them, who then passed down said info to me): -The shooter was an Asian student from Radford University (my alma mater, and is also just 30 minutes MAX down the road from Virginia Tech). -The shooter's girlfriend was a Virginia Tech, and as he had found out recently, had been cheating on him. As such, he went to her dorm (the first spot hit). Given the nature of both schools....that can happen easily. -He shot her and then went off to find the guy who she cheated on him with, who was presumably at class. Here's where it gets speculative: in between the first shooting and the second shooting, the lock down on the school was eased a bit. It's assumed that he went after the guy, but unknown fully. -At the second shooting, at least 51 students jumped from the second story window in a classroom right beside where the second shooting took place. At least one 9 mm semi-automatic was used. It's pretty crazy. Where I currently live, Roanoke, is just 20-odd minutes north of Blacksburg. I know Blacksburg almost as well as the city of Radford. It's insane. The press conference was utterly useless, as no information was essentially revealed whatsoever. Also, given the incredibly high winds that have affected the Roanoke and New River Valley area (where Blacksburg and Radford are), the killer couldn't have picked a better day, as use of helicopters to air-lift people has essentially been eradicated thanks to the aforementioned winds. Watch for the numbers of people that were injured to increase throughout the day thanks to the window-jumpers. EDIT-Changed because rumors are still rumors, no matter where they're heard from
  7. what does site to store mean? You can have the item sent to the store, where you pick it up. You pay no shipping whatsoever, just the price of the item and then pick it up at the store that you send it to. It's just like Best Buy.com's and Circuit City.com's Item Pick-Up....except it's only available in select states. Clicking on it will tell you what states are available for that service. Oh, if only Virginia was one of them.

    What the ...

You'll be glad to hear that they have this new thing these days. It's called "the internet". @smilepunch@
  9. You do mean only one released, right? Y'know, since it was only released for Energon and that's it. At least, unless you count the Family Dollar/Dollar General/Big Lots Transformers: Universe rerelease of the Steamhammer and Energon Constructicons...of which there were no changes whatsoever except the card. Also, seeing as how I've only got Steamhammer, and to complete the giant at Energon level, it would cost nearly 40 dollars, 30 dollars won't break the bank for me. I'm actually looking at getting two to have an all Sledge/Bonecrusher Devestator. I thought this is the 3rd release? I have the energon sets. And I have a RID yellow Walmart exclusive set. This purple will be the 3rd right? What you have are Walmart exclusive Black Friday loss leaders. Those are all yellow repaints of the four RID Build Team molds, completely different from the Energon Constructicons. In fact, the all yellow repaints were sold before the Energon Constructicon molds were even released.

    pat lee...

    Did someone mention Pat Lee?
  12. Considering that it's a KO that probably doesn't cost the bootleggers more than 10 dollars in parts at most, yet typically sells for 9 to 10 times that amount, I'm still not quite sure I'd be so quick to label it a deal.
  13. I don't know much about any of the other sites (though apparently Ryan of Seibertron and Tony of TFW2005 were also at the show) in attendance, but Kickback of TW2005 posted on the Allspark that Tony was absolutely amazed by what he saw, and apparently most of the crowd was as well. Now, granted, a lot of them were also allegedly suits, but hey, a good reaction is still a good reaction in my eyes, especially considering Tony was apparently a fairly large naysayer of the movie before the clip show.
  14. The near official word is that the Magnus on the box had more paint apps than what's even allowed for a normal 30 dollar figure, much less what would be expected for a 30 dollar figure to be sold at 20 dollars. Both are great IMO, but they sure would have looked super snazzy if they were the box versions. Oh well.
  15. Movie theaters, in give or take, about 5 months. @smilepunch@
  16. Oh joy-the issue's finally coming out. @smilepunch@ Having not looked at the preview yet, I can only hope that the artwork is better in this issue than in the previous one. There was some...."yuck" in that, truth be told.
  17. I'm not gonna lie-this update sucks, even for the Japanese. The TIGS was useless for the TF fans across the water. Still, the Bay/Spielberg opening of the Japanese trailer was pretty cool.
  18. But some posts made by members that show better news by other sites than what's been produced by TNI's sister sites have been deleted for no reason whatsoever. Example: a couple weeks ago, one Saturday morning, the RSS feed for TFormers made a topic about Hi-Res pics surfacing of the Voyager sized Ironhide Transformers Movie figure in an ebay auction. A link was included in the OP that sent back to TFormers' image gallery, which consisted of just three pictures. TFW2005 had a post showing the same pictures from the auction (whoever got the story up first, TFormers or TFW2005, I couldn't tell you), plus more Hi-Res shots of the very same picture sent to them from the auction's seller. Wanting to be useful to my fellow members, I posted a link to that post at TFW2005. Later that day, the OP of that topic got changed so that all of the posts within really made no sense. Also, that evening, the very same topic that was posted earlier that day is reposted-same words, same link to TFormers, everything. I'm all about helping fellow members, so I decide to repost the gallery seen at TFW2005 for the benefit of the members. Later that day, that post gets deleted, and after checking around my posts, it would appear that my aforementioned post has coincidentally enough been deleted as well. No warning was given at all. Now, I understand totally that JayC is the owner of TNI. Don't let the name American Dream Comics, Toy News International, or its listing as a public forum fool you-TNI, and subsequently enough, private property. Before anyone says anything, that's honestly not a shot meant at Jay whatsoever, as the same can be said of Tony Bacala at TFW2005, Kalidor at The Allspark, Jack at TFormers, Nick at CHUD, and so forth. If anything, it's a concept that we as posters at any message board should realize-when you post on TNI, you are subject to Jay's rules (or whatever board you may post at). Crying for civil liberties, freedom of speech, and any other nonsense is purely that-nonsense and nothing more. If you chooose not to follow the rules, then you can skidaddle. HOWEVER, it would very much be in Jay's favor to let all of the members know of any changes and updates to the rules. Giving at least a warning to the member if a member is being censored is something to be taken into consideration as well. Doing otherwise can only...besmirch the overall opinion of top ranking people as seen by everyone else. That's just basic management and marketing principles.
  19. http://forums.toynewsi.com/index.php?showtopic=2031176 Been there, done that, prepare for the merging! Topicstator?
  20. Tee-hee. Hey Mike, think we can get a Topicstator here?
  21. Nope, King Starscream. Unofficial fannnnnnnnnnnnnn arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt. Actually, nearly two year old unofficial fannnnnnnnnnn arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt. Sure looks nice though.
  22. Gears, actually. G1 Swerve was a remold of Gears, to tell the truth. Universe Swerve, a repaint of Armada Blurr. Alternators Swerve, a repaint of Alternators Swindle, and Cybertron Swerve, a repaint of Cybertron Clocker. Swerve lives to be nothing more than a red shadow of someone else. @smilepunch@ EDIT: Alternators Swerve, a repaint of Alternators Swindle? What am I thinking? Alternators Swerve is a repaint of Alternators Autobot Tracks with a new head mold. DUH.
  23. Courtesy of Easynet prepare to revel in the imagery of the carded deluxe Jazz, Brawl, and Wreckage. While you're at it, enjoy images of carded Deluxe Barricade as well. BWAH!? Wreckage? Yes, Wreckage. Whether he's a toy character only or actually shows up in the movie, he's a Decepticon that we haven't heard about it yet....and he looks majorly bad-ass. Unlike his previous name uses, he's no measly mini-con. BTW: specialty-cut cards FTW.
