  1. Bought April and ended up doing this to her. LOL!
  2. ... forgot to mention using the router to make the slight curved edging. It definitely helps to have a friend with power tools.
  3. Thanks for the feedback! I made a total of 10 but I think I'll make more. I made an elliptic stencil and traced the shape on some 1/4" wood sheet I bought at Hobby Lobby. Used a friend's bandsaw to cut the shapes, some high grit sandpaper to smooth them down and a drill press to make the 3/16" holes for the dowel rods. I also sanded down the dowel rods to a slight taper so they would fit in the foot holes with ease.
  4. I opted for wood with dowel rods for the foot pegs. The holes are 3/16" in diameter but you'll need to shave a little off the 3/16" dowel rod with some sandpaper to get the peg to fit snug. Primed them with Kilz and then finished off with a black satin coat. I left the dowel pegs unpainted to avoid getting paint on the figure ... I guessed it would have rubbed off the peg over time anyway. Very pleased with the way they turned out.
  5. Just needing to pick your collective brains for some suggestions: I'm constructing some figure stands to fit the 2012 TMNT figures. I'm considering using 3/16" dowel rods to fit the holes in the figures' feet and then gluing the rods into some 1/4" plywood to form the base of the stand ... it should't be too costly a project. I'm curious to know: have any of you ventured into making custom figure stands in the past? Got any success stories to share or maybe some pitfalls to avoid? Any info would be greatly appreciated. 6. $7.77 vs. $8.99 ... GLAD I waited, too! Our local WM had them out today! Now, should I army build the Foot Soldiers?
  7. He should stick to reviewing movies like 'Julie and Julia.'
  8. 'Evil Never Looked So Good' ... almost as if Joel Schumacher directed the movie. Glad he didn't; the accelerator suits would have nipples on them.
  9. I get collector's remorse every so often, too. I'm 37 and I've been collecting Batman, Transformers and various other toylines since the mid 80s. I missed a lot of the original GI Joe toyline (3.75 inch, that is) back in the 80s, but I've really hit the ground running with the 25th collection. So my advice is: follow your bliss! If you enjoy it, then don't let anyone tell you or influence you to stop collecting anything ... stamps, action figures, dryer lint ... whatever!
  10. Have you guys tried www.unicron.com ? The database is located on the right side of the webpage sorted by year and genre. I'm not sure how complete is it, but it catalogs several years of TF collections.
  11. TFA Blitzwing hit west Knoxville, TN today. Picked him up at Turkey Creek Wal-Mart.

I love how Newmar's quote from the NY Daily News doesn't mention Halle Berry as one of the actresses who played Catwoman! Probably has something to do with the fact that the movie REALLY sucked (so I heard, I never saw it)!
  13. I have some of the 'Swoop' bikes for my Crimson Guards.Click here to see them
  14. The 'DVD Battles' sets have hit Knoxville, TN. I found them both at the Target on Ray Mears blvd. this morning. Lady Jaye is SWEET! I hope Hasbro plans to release more aquatic troops in the future.
  15. This is such an amazing custom! I have a general question about customizing TFs: do you actually take the toy completely apart before painting OR do you paint the toy intact? What type of paint do you use when customizing? Any information you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, TLC
