First Official Clark Kent & Lois Lane Image From 'Superman & Lois'
ensign replied to Outsiders's topic in Entertainment News
He might have made a better Batman. I say that because of the dark and brooding character he played on MTVs Teen Wolf for 4 years. However, he impressed me with his performance of Superman. By switching from Teen Wolf to Superman, he really showed his range of acting. I personally think he's the best modern Superman. -

Then you haven't seen MTVs version of Teen Wolf where he starred for about 4 seasons. Very masculine, very ripped, very sexy. -
I'm strictly a DCUC comic version character guy, but I would definitely like to get my hands on that King Shark figure because that figure will be the only 6 inch scale version of that character any company has ever made. I'll probably just buy a complete build a figure on Ebay. It would be nice if Mattel made an effort to squeeze in more comic book versions of Arrowverse characters like Speedy, Mirror Master, Weather Wizard, Heat Wave, Vixen and Vandal Savage (pre Nu 52 of course). Also, I don't like that cut bicep on Hawkman. Completely ruins the figure. They should have done it the way they did the DCUC biceps.

In regards to the discussion about homosexuality in the Arrowverse.... One, the creator of all of these shows is gay so obviously he is going to use them as a platform to advocate.... Two, we are now and have always been a multicultural society even though many have been discriminated against over time..... Three, its perfectly acceptable for all types of individuals to be portrayed on TV even when are kids are watching so they can learn to be tolerant.... Four, it is annoying for characters we love to have their race and sexuality changed in the name of diversity. If it meant not having the show though, I'd rather have the show with diversity than not have it at all. Its not like they are showing gratuitous gay porn that we have to shelter kids eyes from. Five, Robin Lord Taylors rant was disrespectful. We are not homophobic just because we don't want Penguin to be gay. Six, I'm teacher. Since the Supreme Court ruling, more and more students I teach have come out. They are great kids because they are hard working students. I want them to be loved and accepted. I want them to see people like themselves on TV, in movies, and in sports because they have always been there and they should feel free to be who they are either by nature or by choice.

Hmmm...I think your facts are a little off... If you watch this interview from SDCC, at about 2 minutes in, he says they have full intentions of taking over Thundercats but don't have the rights to the license at this time. That video with Pixel Dan was done after another interview was done in which he said he wasn't. The interview with Pixel Dan was done to try to re assure people, but really to save Mattels a**. They have no intention of dong Thunder cats. Um... okay? What video are you talking about then? Cause that was put up while SDCC was still going on. It wasnt a video, it was a statement he made in an interview. The video he did with Pixal Dan was meant to walk back his initial statement.

At first at sdcc, Super 7 said they where not interested in Thundercats because of all the technicalities. This was before Mattels Thundercats starte to ship. Many, including my self started to threaten to cancel their Thundercats subs. THEN they did a 180 and said they were all about the Thundercats. I don't believe them. I think they just said it to save Mattels a**. I think after all the Mattel TC figures ship, they are going to turn around and say they can't do it. Incidentally, I ended up with Lion - O. I thought the account I gave Mattel didn't have any money in it. Turns out, I used a card when I subbed that did have money. Now, I yet again have a Lion - O from a TC line that will probably not be completed. It was a complete waste of 50 dollars, any takers?

Yawn. I stopped liking Adam West Batman as soon as I saw my very first Episode of BTAS. Kevin Conroy will be my definitive Batman until the day I die.

He'll be good. Don't like the outfit though. He's got a nice physique and the outfit doesn't really show that off like Cavil's does. Glad they gave him the red boots, miss the trunks.

I bet they are aware of that and will probably have Tyler play him older which he has already proven he can do. Also, the executive producer of Arrowverse is a Teen Wolf fan. That's how we got Colton Haynes as Arsenal who arguably should have been played by someone younger. Its also been established in various media that kryptonians live longer and age slower than your run of the mill humans. That said, I do see your point, but I think it will turn out fine.
-
I don't know. I know they have to go "young & pretty," this IS the CW after all, but I always imagined Superman would skew a bit older in Supergirl's universe. I mean he was supposed to have been well established and world-famous when Kara came to Earth, and that was over twelve years ago. Tyler is a fine actor mind you, but I just have trouble seeing him as the older, wiser cousin OR the well established superhero. I would've cast someone at least in their early 40's. Of course, that being said, they could always use the old "Kryptonians Age Differently" chestnut, or even Retcon him into being SuperBOY when Kara arrived back in the early 2000s. I'll withhold judgement though. Supergirl hasn't steered me wrong yet. He already has "The Mentor" role down because that was what he did on Teen Wolf. He was the older young adult who was the big brother to the Teen Wolves. He also was good as being the guy who was captured and needed rescue. I can imagine this will also be part of his role on Supergirl. He comes off older than he really is. While I would have preferred Tom Welling, Tyler will do well.
-
Tyler will make a good Superman. Strong actor, very physical. I miss him on Teen Wolf. I haven't had an actor who I say "That guy is Superman" since Christopher Reeve. Tyler could be that guy. However, I think Batman when I think Tyler, but that's just because of Teen Wolf and the character that he played.

If he's not in red trunks, i'm not watching.

Padmé Didn’t Die of a Broken Heart There’s something you missed.
ensign replied to Wheeljack35's topic in Star Wars
Nonsense...in her final hours, she saw the end times, she saw JJ Abrams and that was the straw that broke Padme's heart. -
So Mattel can make crappy 5 point kids toys

I had a sizeable DC Direct Collection before DCUC came out. I waited to see how far and how long DCUC would go before I unloaded my DC Direct Figures. I will probably do the same here. I just hope that they don't have the same QC issues that DCUC had or that BTAS is having now.
