  1. OH MY GOD! THAT WAS SGT. SLAUGHTER!!!
  2. OH MY GOD THAT'S FUNNY! And that Sgt. Slaughter at the end really looked like him o_o
  3. aww, you beast me to it XD I WANT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!
  4. Most movie critics can't seem to fathom the concept of movies that are simply just for fun
  5. LMAO Great review! I see Cobra Commander was not pleased with his "Hamburger Helper" face XD
  6. I saw it last night. I thought it was pretty epic. The only things I couldn't get into were Cobra Commander's new look, (though it looked more impressive in the movie than in toy form) I agree that some of the fight scenes were pretty hard to follow sometimes, I'm amazed that other joes didn't show up in the background. Especially Shipwreck and Snow Job considering they have figures, and dear god, Duke has GOT to get rid of that stupid Goatee >< And though I'm more of a Snake Eyes/Scarlett kind of guy, I the idea of Ripcord/Scarlett was interesting. Especially since I'm always up for more mixed relationships in media Did anyone else catch that "Lifelike hair and Kung-Fu grip" line? XD
  7. No..not really, not for me anyway. I was born in 1962 so the original 12" G.I.Joe is what I grew up with, and when I was 20 years old in 1982 is when these little buggers came out, and I probably didn't take much notice until late '83 early '84 and started collecting them as an adult hobby. My era of G.I.Joe was really quite generic (is that the proper term, do ya think Ken?) in that most ALL of the details and character aspect of those 12" action figures was left up to the imagination of each child, whereas ARAH was just chock full of every little minor detail and developed characterization, and that appealed to me intensely, so much so that my reaction was almost in DEFIANCE of my age, and I decided DAMNIT, this is too cool to miss out on because I'm too old, I'm BUYING these suckers anyway, and then it just kept growing and growing and expanding and adding more and more and the hook was set. I see the difference of the two as being more like, the adventures I played out, with my "generic" 12" Joes was usually based off of some movie or something I liked at the moment and I'd run out in the backyard and reenact my favorite scenes using my action figures as the main characters from that movie. All my figures basically looked the same, save for some added beards or hair color and no BAD GUYS to distinguish from. ARAH was completely scripted and designed and each character was given such a detailed role in the organization and with all the cartoons and comic books to show them in ACTION, in all their individualized glory...I was jealous, and wanted to be a part of it. Ah, you're a minority. Like how I 'm one of the few 80s children that like the 12" figures just as much as the little ones. At least that's how I feel sometimes. Do you have any idea how many people I see talk about the 80s Joes as a "disgrace" to the GI Joe name? (and other such insults) Many people tend to just want what they grew up on and though that's understandable, I think it keeps a series from evolving and appealing to new audiences BTW, It's cool that you like both forms of GI Joe. Like I stated earlier, I'm the same way
  8. I think I'm gonna enjoy this movie. Though it's not what I was expecting or would've preferred, I can't jump on the "This is not my GI Joe" bandwagon. After all, 12" fans from the 60s and 70s say the exact same thing about our line, don't they?
  9. The Destro one has potential but what the @$%& is Heavy Duty wearing? O_o
  10. Yeah, but it's still probably gonna be fun (And it wouldn't be the first time the GI Joe name has been taken and run with) Thanks for all the good comments everyone. I really appreciate them ^^ This is for everyone who (like me) can't go to Joecon T_T
  11. LOL Same here. I actually think it's a fairly decent looking playset but I haven't got the cash for it either.
  12. I think those look awesome. I totally want 'em! I don't mind the small copter. Some people don't have the room (or budget) for large vehicles. Especially the kids and parents these are aimed for
  13. I love the military man with no shirt an a bright red vest in the middle of the jungle. God, I love the 80s XD Excellent coloring job on this
  14. Not feeling the Head scuplt. He looks like he smells something funny (Of course, on the battlefield, that might be true XD) But I'd love to get that gear and put it on one of my other Dukes!
  15. Wasn't sure if this belonged in the anime section since the toy is based on the new movie coming out and not on any of the animes but I saw these and thought I should share them with everyone http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_JGgzOkYhIb0/SnQw...ime-expo-06.jpg
  16. Hey guys. I just found this and thought you'd all be interested in seeing it http://enewsi.com/news.php?catid=261&itemid=15532
  17. I'm gonna have to say Bleach too. Or at least just Rukia ^///^ I also want to see Pluto and the Blue Knight from Astro Boy as figures
  18. two words. MICHAEL KEATON! When he was casted as Batman, everyone whined because they thought all he knew was "comedy" and well, you know the rest
  19. Ah yes. China. "You'll never find a more retched hive of scum and villainy!"
