  1. Really, think about it...Resolute's kind of a gift to the adult fans, for lack of a better term. But this kind of gritty, dark show wouldn't take off in a market largely designed to grab the attention of children. Unless it took off with the anime crowd which, to me, would be worse than having no show at all. The last thing I want to see is a Snake Eyes hat with cat ears on it at Hot Topic.
  2. Transformers does just fine by setting up new continuities with each show. I'm considering Resolute to be an "Elseworlds"-type story.
  3. Post count doesn't mean anyone's new, holmes. My old account stopped being accessible when the site changed and did the whole "You must log in at EnewsI to access everything" crap. The changeover from Roadrunner to Comcast didn't help, since it rendered my old e-mail address inaccessible as well. I've been here for quite a long while...I just don't really partake in much discussion. I'm fairly incompatible with others who enjoy the same hobby I do.
  4. Holy CRAP Snakes vs. Storm Shadow was brutal.
  5. The DEBATE over why the retailers might be putting the kibosh on the Resolute toys and how that might be affecting the cartoon even....IS POLITICAL! Conflict, war, death and mayhem the MILITARY is what's being discussed as being a possible (politcal) reason behind why certain individuals (in the retail business) would have an issue to begin with. If the debate over it is too intense for you, or too political for your enjoyment, I sugggest you skip over it, find another topic without it or give up your interst in G.I.Joe altogether as it's chuck full of politcally charged background and relevance...like it or not. Merely citing G.I.Joe as the REAL AMERICAN HERO can cause political debate these days. This isn't BARBIE DOLLS! I SUGGEST you REMEMBER that THIS is a TOY board and SPARE us your CONSPIRACY theories as to WHY retailers aren't STOCKING something YOU want THEM to STOCK. POLITICS has NOTHING to do with it...it ALL comes DOWN to WHAT they THINK will SELL, and G.I. JOE isn't SELLING beyond COLLECTORS, which DON'T make UP much OF the TOY-BUYING market WHEN all IS said AND done, NO matter WHAT you MIGHT think in THAT warped BRAIN of YOURS. STOP derailing a TOPIC about a DAMN cartoon WITH your IDIOTIC ramblings ABOUT a MANUFACTURED conspiracy TO keep G.I. JOE off TOY shelves. IF it WAS such A big DEAL, we WOULDN'T have THE CORPS at WAL-MART or THE various MILITARY accessories and FIGURES Toys R Us STOCKS. THE niche MARKET G.I. Joe SERVES is BUT a SMALL part OF the RETAIL business, IT has NOTHING to DO with WHATEVER you're CONJURING up IN your TOO plentiful SPARE time. Annoying reading #$@# like that, isn't it? Anyway, G.I. Joe, like Transformers, has always been a toy commercial. Stop reading so much into it. Take the tin foil hat off, and stop assuming all of us are blathering idiots who know nothing about the world or the skewed politics you're so fond of ranting about. Many of us come to places like this to escape being bombarded by this crap day in and day out, we don't need you channeling Art Bell here.
  6. I would agree. The vast majority of DCUC doesn't even sell at my comic shop. You'd think that they would sell like hotcakes to their target audience there, but nope.
  7. Here's an idea. Keep the discussion on cartoons and toys and move the political garbage somewhere it belongs, which isn't here.
  8. Hot damn, didn't even know this guy existed until I saw this topic. Just shot down to Toys R Us and nabbed two of 'em! Thanks for the heads up. Now if only I could find someone to make an entire card+bubble for me.
  9. its realy easy to open an account with BBTS. 1st go to the site, then click on "my account". after that click on sign up or open account or what ever its called. After you give your basic mailing info there will be an option for you to give your credit or debit card info. After your account is open & they have your card info, click on the "home" tab & go shopping!! if you pre ordering something like MMDX Joker then after you done selecting items go to check out. after that's all complete you should be good to go. The only thing I would caution on is makeing sure there is enough funds in your account a week or two before its due to arrive. Because once BBTS has gotten there shipment in they will INSTANTLY BILL YOUR CARD! So be warned. example: right now I only have about $18 in my account (don't laugh). But over the next few week I'm gonna make sure I slowly (or quickly if possible) acrew about $165.00 so there will be enough in my account come this May because I think that when Two Face is due out. So if my account doesn't have enough in it I will get hit with an over draft fee from my bank (the voice of experiance)lol. Speaking of which, I've been meaning to email the Pres. of BBTS & ask if they will start selling gift card accounts. that way I can sock away a lil each pay period and NEVER have to deal with a over draft fee again!! well I hope that answers your payment questions. There's also an option when you preorder something to choose a payment method later when payment's due. It's at the top of the checkout/payment selection page. I always use that option in case I need to move some funds around when I get the processing notice. They give you 10 days to pay.

    Batman

I'd kill for DC Direct to do a Norm Breyfogle-inspired Bats, and a non-vampire Kelley Jones Bats. Check 'em out. Norm: More of his work here. Kelley: I like my Batman to be a larger than life, supernatural presence, as you can tell.
  11. Sunny is a great place to buy from, if you want to go the ebay route. I've never had a problem with them. You'll get it earlier, but you'll pay a premium for it. I couldn't wait for my BR Joker, so I ended up paying like $250 for him from them all told. Of course, in December they sent me a second one for absolutely no reason and at no cost to me, so hey....can't argue with that. Anyway, if you don't mind waiting a little longer, BBTS is the way to go. Also, Mag...I fixed the Jolie lips on my first Joker repaint. Here ya go.
  12. And just for reference, here's a second repaint I whipped up to compare to the new head on the MMS DX fig. I kind of went for a caked make up look on it, and I also cleaned up the red lipstick...brought it up closer to his bottom lip and darkened the eye makeup, making its borders more defined rather than fading out into the white. Cleaning up the lips, though, is what brought it closer to the new head than anything in my eyes.
  13. Heh, I've been working a lot. As far as the sculpt goes, I think it's a tweaked BR Joker head, with some slight changes to the jaw and hair. A different paintjob can make the sculpt look much different. Case in point, my BR Joker after I repainted him. Original - Mine - And of course, the MMS DX one. It looks like they may have altered the nose slightly, and the jaw seems to be a teensy bit more square, but the biggest changes are the hair and the eyes. The eyes have been widened a little to give him a more manic expression, and obviously since the eyes are now movable, that alters any expression dramatically. Also, it looks like they toned his scars down a bit. They're not as puffy, especially under his bottom lip. As for my thoughts? I pre-ordered one the second I saw it, though I still slightly prefer the BR Joker head. I think it has the best-looking sculpt once you can bring it out with a decent paintjob.
  14. RE: The price. I'm not exactly rolling in dough myself, but I've found a really good way to afford the "overpriced" expensive figures. Stop buying little crap that you'll only put in a drawer or get tired of within a couple months. You'd be very surprised at how much money you save by not impulse buying something just because it looks cool. If you only buy what you really want, and not what you think you want because you listen to the collector/hoarder urges, you can pretty much afford anything within reason. Plus, these things come out so infrequently that you can save up, little by little, until it's time for them to ship. Put $25 a paycheck in savings. $50, even. And don't buy crap just because you feel like buying something. You can be a collector and still be frugal.
  15. Completely in love with this. The most accessories I've ever seen on a figure, and they're all incredibly in-depth. Plus, he's just awesome.

    Watchmen

Hot Toys is doing Watchmen. CoolToyReview accidentally listed their versions of Rorschach, The Comedian and Nite Owl on their page, but they were taken down quickly. No OFFICIAL confirmation yet, but they're coming.

  18. Now all you need is a V1 Joker body to slap the BR Joker head on, and you'll be set up.
  19. You probably didn't choose UPS at the top of the screen. It shipped Economy Postal, which is what happened when I first ordered from their site. It will arrive via the US Postal Service, and it will take around 2 weeks. Mine shipped from Puerto Rico and got here to Houston in around 10 business days, if not a little longer, I can't remember. Next time you order from them, look at the top of the checkout screen and make sure you choose the UPS option. It costs about 20 cents more. And yes, the CS reps at Mattel, at least the one I dealt with when I had to call them, could use a personality change.
  20. LOL GUYS DID YOU NOTICE IT'S BRUCE WAYNE UNDER THE BATMAN MASK
