I don't think he was deflecting the force rays....Hell Luke got hit with a healthy dose of them and it didn't alter his face. Dooku's hit Obi Won's saber and it didn't alter Dooku at all....I think that was his TRUE nature...He was just using the force to cover it up. I mean if someone went through THAT much of a facial change, they would be in the hospital for years dealing with the body's shock to it...The FACT that the Emperor just got right up and started running things with no consequences just proves it to be so.

But again JayC, You can assume all you want to...The fact that they made SUCH a big deal about who erased the Jedi archives AND who ordered the clones and to NOT even say anything about it in this movie is REALLY an unanswered question... Not to mention Grevious. I REALLY thought that with the human organs and human type eyeballs that it was Darth Maul constructed with what was left of his body. Why didn't Lucas JUST make this guy a droid if THAT was it?

It left alot of questions but NO answers... Who ordered the clone army? Who was Syfo-dias? In AOTC Obi-wan holds Dooku's lightening at bay with his lightsaber and yet Dooku is fine. Windu holds the Emperor's at bay and it deforms the Emperor...WHAT? Anakin's motive wasn't as strong to convert to the Darkside. He says "what have I done?" when accidently killing Windu...1 minute later he is bowing down to the Emperor...TOO QUICK! He didn't even have time to THINK about what he'd done. Who erased the jedi archives from AOTC? We can all ASSUME it's Palpatine but it is not EVER touched upon.

And I'd have to strongly disagree with you...Mask of the Phantasm is the best Batman film ever made.
