  1. Well, I hit three Targets today, and not a single one of them had the 25th Anniversary figures. I was pretty disappointed to say the least! Two of the Targets had the toy isles cleared out for the reset. . . but they've been that way for weeks, and the other one had yet to even start the reset. I think that it's because here in NC we have Tax Free Weekend this weekend . . . they're probably going to wait until next weekend to do the resets so they can try to get rid of as much of the clearance stuff as possible. Or it could be that they just haven't gotten anything in. Which could also be the case. Glad I ordered mine on Amazon.
  2. I agree here. I don't know if they require a signature for the CC or what (only thing I can think of). I would rather print off the PDF, fill it out, rescan the thing and send it back via e-mail. Since I deal with technology all day, the use of a fax is kind of old skool. Anyway, you should get an invoice in the mail (snail mail, not e-mail) along with some more con documentation and a color flier denoting if you are in the early group or late group for registration. I e-mailed the GIJCC a couple of days ago because my CC has not been charged yet. They told me that they are in the process of running transactions. If they do not get to mine in the next week, I'll bug 'em again. As for your exclusives, if you pay for the package, you will get yours. I have never seen anyone go without their gear. Just give them a call and ask if your registration has been processed. Simple as that! I wasn't sure about mine, so I called after I faxed it in, and they said everything was in order and I was good to go.
  3. KB toys at Carolina Place had none today . . . they said they had some in but sold out. I haven't seen heads nor tails of any Joes here. I saw AT 12 inch at a walmart here . . but the next day all 12 of them were gone. I resorted to just buying the 25th off of Amazon tonight.
  4. I'm going to be getting in on Wed the 26th . Give me a little time to do a little touring or whatever. When are you planning to get there and tear up the town SKARAPZILLA?
  5. Well, I think now that they've moved on to a different design standard for the figures entirely, that the JvC / VvV should be up for nominations . . . granted they're not 10 years old . . . but some of them suck just as much. I don't think that any of the design team will really hear about said nominations . . . but even if they do . . . isn't it sort of an honor to be nominated ? @smilepunch@
  6. And we will continue to induct more figures this year I agree that it is not the same without GGPIKE and GENZOD, it will be nice to once again come together and reunite the CFB lol...... Awe . . . I think I'm starting to get misty eyed! It'll be really good to see all you guys again.
  7. Well, is the criteria for crappy figures still RAH only? Or should we expand to JvC, VvV, etc. Or should we only expand when crappy figures from RAH have been exhausted?
  8. I'm so glad this thread is still around. I think that those of us who fathered this organization that is steeped in the rich history of crappy figures should get together during the con. Though the 4th anniversary has already passed us by, I hope that we can relive that faithful summer of '04 where we swore on the wrinkled eye of Golobulus to carry forth the tradition of recognizing the crappiest of figures. Also, we should take minutes . . . Robert's Rules?
  9. Group shot of the entire convention set is up. Now that it's finally all laid out, it really shows the cohesive look of the Joe team as well as how cool all the cobra's look together. Just picture the set with Flash and Zap having the helmets from Alyosha. To me, you pretty much have a winner of a set right there! #US1#
  10. I'm a big fan of the first one. Aly you've done some great work on these. Is there any way that we could put our names in to reserve the helmets, so those of us that want them and are going to the con will be able to get them for sure?
  11. Sparks is up! So he and Grunt get helmets and Flash does not? Sad sad day. But I'm a huge fan of this Sparks. I really am digging it.
  12. that's was fast.. I wonder if they're just trying to spread the last two out, lol Joe- I spoke with Lanny today, and he had mentioned that he had hoped that the corrected samples would make it in today and it looks like they did. He had said the problem with the first smaple they got was that the waist and a couple other things were wrong....they had asked for corrections and the samples were due to arrive at any minute since they got these samples in about 2 weeks ago when this all started. BTW, the figure kicks all kinds of a$$, and I'll see what I can do about making a helmet to fit the head and having it ready by Con. The Downtown legs are a great working choice for this design. How difficult would it be to make a helmet w/ a visor? To me Flash and Grand Slam's iconic look includes the helmet with the visor. To have them without it looks great, but is just missing that certain something. Since they are most likely going to give us Grand Slam as well, take that into account with how many you make (if you are able to get this project completed in time) I'm just hoping it won't come to that and that somehow MC will hear our cries once again and get a decent looking helmet in there.
  13. Me too...I teach US History, so if anyone has any suggestions for me as well, I'll take them. Thanks Being a student of history myself, I am looking forward to Stone Mountain as well as the Cyclorama (both of which are on the Convention tour schedule . . I'll probably hoof it on my own though). The Atlanta History Center in Buckhead also looks to be pretty interesting.
  14. Rock & Roll is up! I for one love the look they decided on for the "winter" camo. It almost seems like it could fit in an urban environment as well! Can't wait to see the others!
  15. Form Filled Out . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . check Form Mailed . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . will do this week Hotel Rooms Reserved . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . check Raiding Liquor Store For Ryan, Kevin, and I . . . . waiting till Atlanta
  16. I'll most likely be going. Kevin, I'l let you know soon about the hotel rooms, have to see if the parents are going to go again.
  17. Yea, I'll be the guy there who's 27 and brings his parents . . lol. Then again they are fun, so who knows! Too bad we aren't at Disney World again. Atlanta is about 4 - 4 1/2 hours from me, so not too bad of a trip. I'm not too huge a fan of Atlanta. Guess with Skarapz around, though, anything is posible. So it could actually be fun! Kevin, hope we get a chance to hang out some, been too long dude. Plus I owe you shots and/or beer for all the times you went out of your way to pick stuff up for me at the past couple of Cons and ship it. - George
  18. U don't have to be a member to go, you can just show up on general admission day, which is about 8 bucks or something like that a day. For all the exclusives, xtra activities and early admission you can either become a member of MC and pay around 250 or so bucks or pay the non members fee which is around 300 or so. As for staying at the hotel, if you plan on getting all the xtra con exclusives and what not, as well as xperience the greatest time in your life, then stay at the hotel. My 1st con was Norfolk and I stayed far away from the hotel and didnt purchase any xclusives. I had the worst time of my life. My 2nd con I stayed at the hotel and got the xclusives and had a blast. I met so many people there that I consider dear friends. These are people on ADC that I talked to all the time, but I met once at the con but they left a great impact on me. I would have them at my house anyday. If your looking for that kick ass time or looking to have a greater role in the adc community then stay at the hotel or close to it. does that mean you'll be at this one ZOD OH HELL YEAH! AND THIS TIME THE WIFE AINT COMING, SO ILL HAVE MORE TIME TO HANG nice, shots on you this time, @firedevil@ Skarapz, I'll be there this year. You can bet since I didn't go the last 2 years I'll have to buying shots too. Zod, it'll be good to see you again. . . I think we all sat at the same table in Disney, right?
  19. Thanks man, much appreciated! Feels so good to be back in the Joe community! Yo Joe!
  20. Wow, I haven't been on TNI for a long time! Now the Joes are back and so am I! Can I get some PM love from anyone here . . . anyone in my CFB wanna help a brother out?
  21. Well this is my first post here in I don't know how long, but I wanted to just comment on Mr. Admiral Hunter and the wonderful job he has been doing for those of who are not at the conventions. Orlando was the first (and last) convention I attended. I spent a lot of time with Lt. Falcon, Ms. Lt. Falcon, and Admiral Hunter and developed a good friendship with all of them in the short time that we were there. For the past two conventions, AH has been kind enough to take both his time and money and put them where his heart is. Yes, he gets paid back for everything, but his credit card does feel pretty violated before then. Anything I'm looking for he picks up for me, and obviously a few other people. Knowing everything I got in Orlando and knowing that AH gets probably 10x that much; it is no easy feat to balance out all of the items everyone needs and also to physically balance all of those said items. I often wonder how he carries everything around. . . Mule? Forklift? Skarapz with a rickshaw? The point is, no matter how much Skarapz likes being whipped as he's pulling AH's cart of GI Joe goodies, AH has been a truly great friend and has gone out of his way to do things for a few of us on here. So AH . . thank you. Hopefully I can return the favor someday. And, hello there to my friends here who I haven't talked to in like, 2 years! I'll be at the convention next year though, you can bet on that one!
  22. Jamison . . . I actually saw it first, but since I haven't posted here in years thought I'd give it to you Whats up man, hope you're doing alright.
  23. ccav, I've missed a ton too. Skarapz what's going on man, haven't talked to you in a while . . . you still owe me @smilepunch@ I'm glad to see that the CFB is still going strong. I'm sure the rest of the founding members are as proud as I am. I'm going to have to agree that S6 should not be included. This is strictly 3 3/4" crap. No shorter, no taller (except for our founding figure, who's strange lobster eye patch adorns our symbol to this day) Let's have a brief look back . . . our founding fathers on the charter day of CFB, back in '03
  24. My bad, just found out my pm box was full.
  25. I do? Where!? (it's not there @smilepunch@ )
