  1. discontinued?!?!? then that would mean TRU won't be selling these exclusives anymore. uh-oh. normally, those other "missing" items are well hidden by other collectors. check the panels or check the girl section for hidden stashes. the lady is telling the truth. believe me, i've been in that situation. no need to force any employee to go look for them on the warehouse, coz they never put stuff on the warehouse, they are always on the floor. except that people hide s#it! Yeah, I would have to agree here as well. Sort of the nature of 'big box' stores. Not enough coverage in all areas combined with, more often than not, less-than-motivated workers leave all kinds of merchandise in the wrong place. The computer will only be able to know that items haven't been sold yet. If the items haven't been stolen or really well hidden, they might not find their way back to the right place until the end of the day. The discontinued thing is kind of screwy. It could be an inventory quirk in their system. I know Wal-Mart computers will sometimes say an item has been discontinued due to being out ad the distribution center warehouse for too long. Then in a month or two the said item is back. Having experience on both ends of the spectrum, I completely understand the frustration. I've found that patience and the desire to find some kind of positive solution works out in the end. Happy hunting.
  2. What are you looking for? My brother and I have produced some custom stickers for a few vehicles and have some more in the works. We don't have anything on a website (yet) but I could send you a list of what we have.
  3. I fabricated the seat from scratch. Then I made molds and casted the parts in resin so I could make more. I'm thinking about having some sets made for anyone interested. Depends on the interest though. Resin ain't cheap. As for the paint I don't remember what brand it was. Something cheap I picked up at Wal-mart.
  4. Just thought I'd share one of my recent customs. I know several people have customized these into Rattlers, but I did do a couple things different. Firstly, I used custom decals that are scaled for the larger aircraft. The other thing I did was a bit more involved. Anyone who owns these know that Wild Weasel will not fit in the seat of the cockpit without modifications. I decided to make a 'plug and play' modification with some improvements. In the photo below, you can see a side by side comparison of my seat and the original. I went a bit further and made an addition that was lacking on the original Rattler- an ejection seat! I took one of the parachutes from the Funskool Wild Weasel and attached it to the seat. Now any 25th anniversary Joe will fit easily in the cockpit. The nice thing about this modification is that it now requires no cutting. All you have to do is undo a few screws, drop it in and you're good to go.
  5. Another option still is a product called Alclad 2. It's a lacquer-based paint that's airbrush-ready. I have not personally tried their chrome, but some of the their other metallic colors. By far the best metal finish I've seen, short of bare metal foil. It's available in most hobby shops or from their website: http://www.alclad2.com/alclad-home.html A word of caution: the paint goes on thin and any scratch or scuff will be very clearly seen. It takes some time to get right. But as you can see in their sample photos, the results are worth it.
