  1. You have to laugh at this? Why? I happen to work in an office. I also have a few toys on display on my desk. I noticed that no one else in my department does. So I started wondering if any other "Collectors" actually display toys at work or not. I don't think my question would have made much sense if I said "HEy your a delivery driver do you display your toys on your dashboard?" No I didn't assume everyone had an office. But yes I am a little suprised that I am one of the only people here that does. Phanstar AKA MrHappy
  2. Meh I'm not worried about theft either. In all the time I was a bench tech no one ever came over and stole any of my tranformers or star wars or Gi Joe. Honestly why would they want to??? The majority of the people in the work force are not as excited about toys as us collectors are. Besides, I look at it this way. Jack Bauer figure. 15.00. What good does he do me if I keep him all cooped up and out of site because I'm afraid of theft? I'm not getting my moneys worth that way.
  3. On another note it helps my work to have these on display. I sometimes spend some very LONG days on the phone with conference calls and webmeetings (Like today.... a *5* hour remote install). Looking at these figures passes the time and helps my moral. Besides when I face a difficult challenge and feel like I can't overcome an obstacle, my 24 figure reminds me to think, WWJD? (What would Jack do?)
  4. As for RC_Rika's comment as to rather or not having toys on display in your office changes peoples perspective of you. I say definately yes. That was part of why I asked this question. When I was a bench tech we didn't have offices we all had a desk and a work bench in our own little space of one big huge room. My desk and work bench were covered in transformers, or action figures, or stickers, posters, ect. But it was a lower scale lower pay low on the totem pole grunt job. Now that I have moved up to doing Analyst work I have toned all of that down considerably. Not only do I have less on my desk but I have changed what I display too. It has made me like McFarlane and NECA a lot more. These highly detailed figures just have a more professional grown up feel than a transformer or something. So currently I have a Jack Bauer, and a Sun from Lost figure on my desk. Oh and a Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander (25th Anniversary versions) on my Leather CD holder still. I also I have a small Zelda poster but it is discreetly hung. It all looks pretty good. But at the same time pretty organized and professional.
  5. Do you display action figures on your desk at work? If so, what do you do for a living? What figures are you displaying? Do you have pics? Do your co-workers call you a freak? I am a Computer Analyst for the city government. Right now I just have a 25th anniversary Snake Eyes and Hooded CC sitting on top of a Leather Desk CD Organizor. They look pretty sharp. However I have ordered a Mcfarlane Sun figure from Lost and am hoping to aquire a Locke figure, and a Jack Baur from 24 Figure to put on my desk somewhere. Also come halloween time I have a 9" Stylized Jason Vorhees by Mezco, and a Nancy Thompson and a Slimer figure from Neca, that I will swap out for the season. Also hoping to add a Beetlejuice to that once he comes out. Then come Christmas time, so far I have a Snoopy with Pathetic Tree figure and a Pig Pen with Snowman Figure. Would like to get a 7" Old Man figure from A Christmas Story and a Mrs. Clause from Mcfarlane's twisted Christmas to round out my xmas decor. What about you guys?

    2008 Wave 12

At 8.00 a figure I'm done with Modern GI Joe. Looking at this wave makes me realize I'm not missing much. Really. 8.00??? for a wave full of repaints? Really? On a side note, why the heck did I have to sign up for a new account and then the site tell me my username (Phanstar) is already taken? What is ENI? I'm so confused. If someone wants to PM me and help that would be great.
