  1. That wasn't a second run - that was retailers sitting on the product until recently.
  2. Man - I'm a huge fan of Scalzi's novels but that list was just dumb. I am disappoint.
  3. There's a KO version of the armor out there for less too that's supposed to be pretty decent. It's in the second run colors vs the Magnus colors but still an option.
  4. There have been a couple of high quality knock-offs, but no official Classics Deluxe Sunstorm as of yet.

Bump - picked up some darker brown.

    Zanya and Zandar

Hah yeah, all that time spent at Broca Beach on the Jersey shore - GTL baby.

    Zanya and Zandar

Well - this was the most non "L" LBC I think I've ever done. From the moment I saw the MU X-23 I thought there's my Zanya. Problem is, I've never painted a face before and I'm ok if I never do again! Anyway, here ya go: and the requisite Zandar - used a Nightcrawler head Merry Christmas from the Zartan family:
  8. The Walmart Starscream? I don't know, there's one that's up to 120 right now with two days left. He's come down from the highs, but he's not that cheap.
  9. He was orange. He has been yellow too, but he's been orange more.
  10. Every bit as good as the official ones - maybe even a bit better really.
  11. And Botmode: He does come with two different faces one regular, the other smirking. This does not appear to be the same smirk as Starscream though - the lips are definitely smaller but I wonder if that's an effect of re-casting the original Starscream face? In fact the more I look at it, the more it looks like Storm's face is just a skinnier version of Starscream's; the nose, the chin and the cheeks are all just a little narrower. Another great addition to the MP Seeker ranks. I still feel confident in my ordering of their Thundercracker (and the selling of my Takara version) and for those that missed out on Walmart's Starscream and don't want to shell 250 or so for one on Ebay, I'd think theirs should be more than good enough.
  12. Yay, Sunstorm arrived today and IGear does not waste an ounce of extra packing material. It came in a box that was only as big as it absolutely needed to be to fit the toy. Of course, the shipping was free and it arrived in good enough shape so I guess that's all it needed. *Spoiler Alert* They have plans for at least nine Seekers: This isn't really a surprise of course: the Coneheads, the original three, Sunstorm, the blue Rainmaker and then one more that I don't think we've seen yet. For those keeping score we have so far: Attack - Thrust Current - Blue Rainmaker Destroyer - Skywarp Elegy - Dirge Jet - Ramjet Lightning - Thundercracker R? (I'm going to guess "Rain" as in Acid Rain Storm?) Storm - Sunstorm Traitor - Starscream Onwards: Box- same basic layout Altmode: A note of caution with the flight stand that I didn't mention in the Conehead reviews, but when you attach the vertical part to the base it's very tight. So much so you can't easily get it all the way in and if you do you'll probably never get it out again. I only have it about a third of the way into the slot and I had to bang it on the counter to get it back out again. Interestingly, he doesn't fit quite as snugly together as the Coneheads. He still doesn't suffer any major gaps and I'd say he goes together better than MP Thundercracker but it's still a teensy bit off. Of course, this could just be mine. Since this is the fourth use of this mold, the real test will be to see if the upcoming Not-TC is the same or [hopefully not] worse. He is positively vibrant! I'd put his orange at something slightly brighter/deeper than MP Rodimus' orange while the red is very nearly the same shade of red as Wal-scream. It may be brighter but it's hard to tell if that's because it's right next to the orange.
  13. Man - really nice. I wish I could paint faces like that. Are those Slayer Design Studios heads?

    My Covergirl

    If you say so. :D
  15. I thought I could send out the most recent ones from earlier this year You can. People were apparently sending in TPM/AOTC/ROTS UPCs and things that were 5-10 yrs old and then complaining that Hasbro didn't accept them.
  16. Mine weren't super old so I figured I'd be fine and they've already cashed my check so it must've been good enough. I can't believe people really thought it'd be ok to send in old POTF or Episode 1 UPCs.

It's a RoC Desert Scarlett head with RoC Covergirl hair.

    My Covergirl

edited: Bought some darker paint for her jacket. Finally sat down yesterday and painted up my Covergirl. A pretty simple parts combo and it worked out alright. I think I'll darken her jacket up a bit and that will cover the necessary touch-ups as well, but not bad for an hour's work. I'll add some more pics once I buy a darker brown paint.
  19. That's looks good! Very clean paint job. I look at that tank every time I go to Walmart and think about buying it for a repaint of some sort.
  20. Besides, Han steps on the twig trying to sneak up on the biker scout; it's Chewie taking the bait, springing the net trap, that brings in the Ewoks. Exactly - this guy needs to rewatch the movie. The whole thing about Obi-wan not recalling "owning" any droids can be explained multiple ways. R2 belonged to Padme first then Anakin He was attempting to maintain his "disguise" as "crazy old man" and not give away the fact he was a Jedi who worked alongside this old R2 unit (recall this is before he decides Luke must come to Alderaan with him). He does not have any particular attachment to droids and R2 units are everywhere I honestly don't know what he's talking about with the Force "speed running". But, let's just say that's for real then consider how much Force Obi-wan had been using in the fight with Maul up to this point including his multi-story leap after getting knocked off the catwalk - he could've just been worn out since we've seen that while the Force may have no limits, the wielders often do. Sorry, of all the improvements that could be made, this list doesn't work.
  21. Good pics and review. I think I'll be swapping out those knee pads for something less bulky.
  22. Yeah - it really depends what you want. If you just want Primus you can find the US version pretty cheap. If you really want that newer Takara version that appears to be the lowest price available.
  23. saw it once near the cash registers, after that they're pretty much gone. Yeah - they've moved them all back into section, but I'd be surprised if there are many left. If you see the translucent Bumblebee and motorcycle Arcee - that's who he shipped with.
