  1. For the bed, just do what I did and leave the interior the same. As for the wheel wells and hubcaps, you went with the better option in my opinion. I think it gives the vehicle a more realistic look they way you have it.
  2. Hey!!!!! Stop copying me!!!!! I actually did the same thing, although I didn't go with quite the same paint scheme. I left the back wheel wells grey and the bed blue. Here is the link to mine, that I am actually now selling on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Cobra-Transport...id=p3911.c0.m14
  3. Um, I hate to burst your bubble, but the CLAW from wave 3 is exactly the same as the DVD pack. http://i.toynewsi.com/g/index.php?mode=vie...800&start=0 There are no "improvements" to this CLAW. As far as I can tell it is a completely new mold that is fairly close to the original, but quite honestly looks like it is a cheaper version than the original. OK, I was wrong and stand corrected, thanks for pointing that out. That is the first time I have seen that exact picture of the new one. Evey other picture I had seen prior to that was small and not the clearest. The stickers make a little difference in the appearance too. It really just sucks. This is the first mold that I am sad about. Every vehicle has either been a near exact copy of the original, or had some improvements. The CLAW just looks cheaper and less detailed than the original. Granted, these are early pics and the CLAW may be better in person, but so far I am wary.

  5. I can't honestly say for sure, but if you take a look at the CLAW from 84 and compare it to the one from the DVD set , they look like 2 different molds. There are just so many small differences, that I don't think Hasbro modified the original mold, but rather went with a completely new one that is pretty close to the original.
  6. I really do have to agree here. I was lucky enough to see him and hear him at the Joemeet in Hamilton, Ontario (Canada). I thought it was going to be great, but the reality was...not so much. He came off exactly as you describe. He really came off as someone who understands his role in the franchise, but really is tired of it. He answered a few questions with "I don't really remember" and he came off as someone who was there for the show, but wasn't really into it.
  7. Honestly man, you should report it to the store. If this all happened in the same store, then I am sure the store manager would want to know. Don't bother with lower level managers, go to the top guy for the store. If he doesn't seem too concerned, then send a quick email to head office with some of the pics. The sheer amount is ridiculous. Just a quick addition and you realize that the guy responsible has basically returned about $85 worth of merchandise in your pics. That's not a small problem.
  8. Thanks for the background tip. I am considering photos of some vehicles customs I did, but they are a "Cobra" blue, as I call it. So I'm not sure if I should go with a light blue type of background, or something like the dark colour you used.
  9. I'm sorry, but I can see green at the joints. That means it is an obvious fail......who am I kidding? That is incredible work as always. What colour blue did you use? Also, would a lighter background bring out the colour more vibrantly? I ask because I never seem to get the colours to really shine through when taking a pic.
  10. Forget Night Force....SKY PATROL ALL THE WAY!!!!!! Seriously though, NF would be a good idea, especially since we already have TF and PP. The NF schemes weren't too bad over all. That said, I would love to see all 3 (TF,PP,NF) vehicles reissued sometime. Although all we have, at the moment, are the SHARC and VAMP molds that were in the original line.
  11. You guys should see it soon. I found one this week at TRU here (Toronto). It was the only one and it didn't have a price sticker on the shelf. It rang up at $49.99 here. So I would assume you are going to start to see the set showing up soon nationwide.
  12. In my neck of the woods, SE (v4?) is a huge peg warmer. Followed by Wild Bill. Previously it was the CG that peg warmed for some reason.

    2008 Wave 12

I really like this wave. Even if Hasbro is calling it a "bonus" wave. Please... Tripwire is only a buy because of the element. I like the colours of the comic pack version better. Storm Shadow. Well, what hasn't been said before about him, SE, CC or Duke? Just another in a long line. Cobra Diver. Now we're talking. It is good to see some use for the mold, although I am surprised they didn't try to get a 5 pack out of this figure. Again a must buy for the element. Ripper. Hard to say, but it looks like he has a slightly lighter colour scheme than the comic pack version. I already have him, so he isn't really something I want or need. Cobra Trooper. Another one, great, I guess. I understand the desire to have him with a red logo, but I'm not all that interested in another trooper. Crimson Guard (PP). Ok, at least this has some history, and is not just a CG with a new mask or vest. I'll happily add this to my PP army.
  14. Also Indy on the horse is a great way to get an, in scale, Horse for Joes and Cobras.
  15. Well let's give Hasbro some points for doing them, and some slack for size. If you have watched the MASS Device recently, you'll remember that the MASS Device was bigger than 2 Hiss tanks and a group of soldiers. So to make it "accurate" in scale for us, it would be huge and expensive. As for the weather dominator, well I chalk that up to what I call "transformeritis". Just like in the Transformers cartoon, scale seemed to shift from one scene to the next with the weather dominator. I mean how can Spirit carry a piece, and then Destro needs to sit in a chair behind it to work the dominator?
  16. Great job. I like the work and detail of the paint. I still hate the paint scheme for the figures from the Marauders line, but that doesn't detract from the great custom work you did.
  17. My personal view has always been that MASS and Weather were seasons 1 and 2. That isn't the common belief, but I always felt that they were their own seasons, just very, very short seasons!! LOL
  18. Unfortunately this seems to be a problem that keeps growing each year. If you point it out to the store management, make sure to check back and see if they just put it back out. That happens more often than not.
  19. Looks like you did more than just "saw" it....looks like you bought it? Not to pick on the "new guy" but is this legit, was it like this when you bought it, or is this just something you whipped up for your first post here? @hmmm@ I meant to ask. Are the weapons still in the box? I'm talking about the ones on the side of the box in the yellow section.
  20. want my pp officer? i'll trade figure for figure! that guy must have some sweet looking troopers wearing all black now though I was trying to figure out what he was going for with the swapped parts.
  21. Looks like someone did some part swapping with the Night Watch figures and Python Officer figures and then returned the parts he didn't want.
  22. I don't really care one way or the other. I personally don't like the idea, but I understand people doing it. There is one instance where I am still baffled by someone: On another board someone was stashing stuff, usually new "hot" items, in apparently hard to find areas. Most likely not in the toy department. However, the person was doing this as a "service" to collectors. Or so they were saying at the time. Basically they would stash and then announce on the board that they had done so with the latest figures that people were looking for at the time. However, they would only tell you if you sent them a message about where in that particular store the figure was hidden. To some it was fine because it meant finding the figures. To others, myself included, it seemed like a petty thing to be doing, and that the person needed some kind of validation through their actions.
  23. Not bad! Life-Line Smash! How do the Movie line Hulk-Busting Troopers compare to 25th Anniv. Joes? If I'm not mistaken they use Joe figures (parts of at least) from post 2000 (not 25th).
  24. I actually prefer the new name for the SHARC.. SHARC TOOTH.... Great way to keep the name Hasbro.
  25. Great work. I hope Hasbro is paying attention. This is the kind of figure that can be redone about a million times as "Dress Uniform" whoever.
