  1. Haha Future MM Wave: What If? Seth Rogen as Green Lantern Tom Cruise as Lois Lane McLovin as Cyborg
  2. i think its just a temp. thing for batman, and bucky is captain america now it seems to be working. Idk I think Captain America is different. Bruce Wayne IS Batman but Captain America is known to be a scrawny kid shot up with drugs during WWII and becomes a strong guy throwing a shield. Most people know that but they don't know Steve Rogers from Bucky Barnes. Batman is like Superman or Spiderman, no one else can be that character for more than issue before readership drops. They have done that thing where someone else has been Spidey and people kind of...well they hated it. DC would be damn stupid to kill off Bruce.
  3. The Target exclusive is a special Harvey dipped in bright glowing orange and a special voice chip that says "Yeah we are scrapping the bottom of the barrel but hey you guys are still buying!"
  4. Well I think most of us have very clean collecting and trading records and I doubt the not so upstanding collectors are going to want to post in this thread. Especially since its about them!
  5. My local walmart has this display up that has like the crank and launch batpod and the tumbler with the batpod inside but on the side was a small selection MMs. No chases or Joker actually but there were several thugs (no joker mask but several other kinds), scarecrow and TDK and BB Batman. Idk if all walmarts is doing this but def worth a look.
  6. Ok I took this quote from the trader forums for those that haven't seen it Recently we have had trouble with people losing there money when they have trusted a member enough to send that person the money in exchange for a figure or figures and getting nothing back in return Please if you not certain about a member we do have a forum to check up on these people it can be checked out here: http://forums.toynewsi.com/index.php?showforum=38 Please if you don't know about a person ask around if possible and try to get somekind of feedback i don't mean to be out of line here but it seems to me which i understand this site has to cover its self but it seems to me that the only real winner here is the scammer. we as a fourem can't speak up with out getting told not to post info about the scammer and the mods cant do much to prevent it. so my question is other than check around and all that what else can we do. If we openly know who they are or at least the sn they are useing on different threads? What are our other options other than not tradeing or selling goods on here While I understand your frustration, you have to look at it from Jay's point of view... what if a bunch of fans in the same area got his info from the site and then lead a mob to the scammers house and then something happened. The site would be liable, so that's why personal info can't be posted like that.. What can you do? For starters be smarter when it comes to trading/buying/selling on line.. not meant at you personally, but to everyone. People kinda dumb themselves down when it comes to message boards a little and when something's hot and they want it now, let common sense take a back seat. That should NEVER be the case, it's money, whether it's $20 or $200, you should always be careful with it, that is your responsibility as an adult... plain and simple. At any other site or place, is someone told you they had something without you knowing who they were, would you just hand them your money, not knowing full well they can deliver on said promises? Same should be done here. Now, what can you do? There's a lot, go to your local police dept, talk to them, see what your options are, if you have any info, receipts, PMs, letters, addresses, anything, make copies and come there prepared. Let them know about the Mason character, if anything they can look into it, or point you in the right direction... If someone outright stole money from you, woudn't you go to the police about it? Why's it different here online? I think that's the problem here, people think, "oh well, it's online, I can't do anything about it, I guess I'm out $xxx on this one".. um.. no? Instead of this being taken care of years ago when he first started, instead of it being $100 or so, it's come to this and it's waay up in the thousands, so it can't just be ignored anymore, he's not just gonna go away The point of this thread is to warn people about it and remind them to be smart about trading online, it's all fun and games until DarthCobraJokerMagnetoLuthor666 runs off with all your figures and money.. hopefully this thread will actually smarten people up a tad to look into things before trading/buying/selling with someone that joined yesterday and has 1 post Anyway, hope that helps explain a little I understand where you are comeing from the only issue with going to the cops is the different state issue. That and the cops in my town could care less about something like this. unless he is in the same county you know. Mail fraud = federal offense. Tell the cops, the post master, or heck there is plenty of sites you can get info from about where to report mail fraud to. You can talk to the authorities. If TN can't do much then go to the authorities b/c they can def do something. If this is the same guy that is screwing people over on fwoosh then the cops really need to know and he needs to be shut down.
  7. I would like to see it but who knows if we will ever get our hands on one. But not a bad job on the figure at all.
  8. Let the maniacal laughs and plotting begin
  9. Haha true. Sometimes they don't flesh stuff out very well. Hi I'm the Martian Manhunter, you can all me John. I was sent by your father to watch over you, of course we have never met until now and this show has been going on for eight years now but whatever I'm kind of like your bodyguard of course you don't need one and oh yeah, if I get too close to the sun I lose my powers but I somehow have a the ability to becomes a detective in the police force without any real qualifications so at least I can fall back on that. So if you need any real help I prolly won't be there but at the end of the trouble I will show up and give sage advice.
  10. You know the thing about Smallville is that its not going to last too much longer. The writing and stories have gotten a little bit better than they were in the last few years but if these writers give a damn about actual story they will have to make Clark fly and wear the costume soon b/c he can't go around Metropolis saving people in his Daily Planet digs. As for the Legion I actually was thinking how dumb it would be to have the JLA in an episode and how it will never be handled right. But the episode pulled it off really well and its actually one of my favorites. I'm not saying go in to the Legion episode with high hopes but hopefully it won't be as bad as it could be lol.
  11. The MMs have been doing very well, despite the nitpicking and production problems. Begins Batman and Begins Scarecrow were just as good sellers as the other regular figures. Besides this, I believe Pooda listed some info many pages back about the upcoming figs we should expect in the line, and Ras was on there. it was hinted we might see Ubu the decoy Ras as well. Don't write it off, the MM line will have legs a while longer. All i know is i hope your right this line is some of the best figures in a long time. Reminds me of the movie maniacs line when it first came out the attention to detail and everything was awsome. just like this line for us hero fans.. With the movie this far off (the wave 4 figures will be out around the one year point of the original shipment of wave 1) I highly doubt the line will continue further. Sales are lagging on the MMs as it is (I see tons of Jokers, Batman, etc) lingering on the peg. Figures being released from movie lines far past the film have a tendency to be underordered by stores and I'm sure wave 4 will be a pain in the ass to find. Look at the Temple of Doom Indy figures as proof...Heck look as far back as the Power of the Force line of star wars from 1985. Those were released 2 years after Return of the Jedi, didn't sell well and now days are super sought after by collectors. Point being, the longer you wait the less desirable to the general public the figures are and the more so to collectors. Which was the original point most of us "complainers" had. Strike now while the iron is hot instead of waiting until things cool down. But either way Mattel has made mention of moving into other DC movies and producing figures of say Superman and previous Batman incarnations.
  12. Well now people should lower the complaining b/c we are finally getting some news thrown our way. Its awesome to know that not only are we finally getting some new figures but we also have some release dates. But when we have no new news for months on end it does get more than a little annoying.
  13. The industry is never going to die and I don't think collectors bitching to other collectors are going to cause collectors to quit. If a collector quits (which only lasts for a year at the most) are most likely for other reasons. Hell I'm almost done, between work, my g/f who I hardly ever get to see anymore (b/c of my damn job), money (or lack there of), and Christmas coming up, I don't really have the time and funds to go out there and buy everything I want. But to be fair there isn't a whole a lot figure wise I want right now that I can actually find in stores for a price that isn't arm and leg. But I would like to see a few MM's come this way. But to be fair man, a forum is not going to kill the industry, if it did the video game, anime, tech, and fantasy book industries would have gone out as soon as the internet went live. yeah....but b!tching makes people want to stay away from the boards. i mean.... were all in the same boat. we dont need anybody rocking it. when i log on, and i see SCREW YOU MATTEL!!! WE WANT TWO FACE NOW!!! or some other crap, i just by pass it now, where as i used to read all of the posts. i already know that theres nothing new being said, just another angry rant. That is true didn't think of that.

  15. Yeah I agree you don't have to keep buying figures that you don't want to get them to give you the ones you want. If you keep buying every different version of judo kicking Batman all you gonna do is make Mattel (in there strange infinite wisdom) think that people still don't have enough TDK Batman figures and produce more and more. But as for your example I think Indiana Jones was a little different. The movie was kind of blasted on for being...strange, the figures weren't as received as well with everyone but the hardcore collectors. The line just couldn't hold steam.
  16. I can't tell are you being sarcastic? B/c just blindly giving props to Mattel for doing very little with the line in the time between the movie opening in theaters and the after the DVD drops is just silly.
  17. Oh thank goodness. Those look awesome. Finally we get to see some of them. So Battle Damaged Bats and Scarecrow in suit will be in January, do you think there will be a third figure rounding out the wave or is two it? Yeah I understand but with the lack of updates on it other than the "WHERE ARE THE NEW ONE FIGURES?!" complaints its "Anyone seen a batpod?". Just not much going on with the line.
  18. Well there are loopholes too, like if say Spider Jerusalem appears in a Superman issue they can use the character b/c in said issue especially if the character is drawn just a bit different. Its silly little things like that.
  19. Yeah really, point me in the direction of a Nightwing, Robin and a decent paint app of GL and I will help out the failing company. lol. And actually I think Nonameshmo is pointing out a interesting theory, in this strange economic time what are the chances that a company that mainly produces toys and games would go under? Especially one that has paid out quite a bit of money for master toy licenses for properties like Dark Knight, DCU, and Masters of the Universe. And while we all kind of figure that Mattel is safe think about a smaller company like Mezco or NECA, especially NECA, who holds the master license for the movie version of Twilight. Everyone says that the movie will do gangbusters but lets say the movie tanks and no one wants the figures if they paid out a bundle and have tons of unpurchased merch laying around that could drive them out of business and so what would happen to the company? Would they get a bailout or could they file chapter 11 or how would that go? Speaking of which does anyone know what became of a toy company known as Resaurus? They made Sonic the Hedgehog figures and Speed Racer figures but went out of business.
  20. The head and face on it still makes me laugh. It looks like Peter from Family Guy in one of there flashback/dream sequences. "Hey Lois, remember when I was cast as Billy Batson in the Captain Marvel tv show?" "SHAZAM....heheheheeh"
  21. I'm not speaking for dhoonib but i think he knows that. what he is sayin is they had that well befor and could have expaned upon it to make the MM figures. In other words if they can do that one in time then why can't they do a MM figure well befor spring of 2009 in time for what? who has it? ovrseas? so would it put you at ease if the MM was done at the sametime as the 5 inch, but the only place that had them was overseas? for all we know they could be done as we speak. i can see it now......"the two face MM is out!" thread gets started, followed by the "crappy MM two face distribution" thread, wrapped up with the "mattel took long enough" thread. im not pointing a certain person, or persons out when i say this, but ALOT of you b!tch waaaay too much. these threads are filled to the top with complaints. Well yeah they are filled with complaints, while I enjoy the series like everyone else on here people tend to fall into the two categories, blame Mattel and eh they are doing alright. And I'm honest I do blame them for a lot of there strange business practices. But I'm not a economist and I can't rate them for everything they do but as a customer and fan I do think its strange that a full fledged wave 3 is not coming out till way after the dvd, in fact in 09. I think its strange that they can't seem to ship DCU, that very few people are able to buy them. And I think its strange they say they are finally trying to cater to the collector with Matty but there is nothing to buy on the site. Everything is sold out or preorder. When you look at like NECA or even Hasbro, they at least have the product out there. Hasbro doesn't get a flip about the collector but hey they are pushing the merch. Also Batman27 I know that it was just for the 5 inch line but the reason Mattel is giving for not being able to put the MM Two Face out was b/c they did not have the design early enough. But they had the design early enough for the 5+ line now I know that might have been early drawings given to Mattel b/c I remember back when Batman and Robin came out the Bane that was in the figure line was actually a comic book Bane and he looked nothing like the movie version. So that could be it and I will be glad when it comes out. I'm just saying that I feel that its kind of a weird excuse and you would think that they would want the figure out by Christmas for the shopping season. I guess at this point I'm a little tired of the production excuses. Like the figures disappearing, and production problems, and distribution problems, and then the Batpod was suppose to be shipping b/c of some interview like a month and a half before it actually hit shelves. And then the whole ordeal people are going through to get DCU. And the part that really boggles my mind is that MM wave one and two were like only a month or two apart. And then wave 3 is like 9 months apart? Doesn't that length of time seem a little odd? Couldn't they have thrown us some other new figures between that time? A Gordon or Rachel Dawes? Maybe Maroni or just Scarecrow in his suit and tie? I didn't mean for this to turn into a rant and by no means did I intend to piss anyone off. I'm just saying how I feel. If I did make anyone angry, I'm sorry that was not my intent at all.
  22. I think I speak for everyone that.... that is a load of crap!!! And by the time spring rolls around alot of people want even be interested any more. Its almost like mattel wants there hotest toy lines to die off. But they continue to make cars line toys and that movie has been well forgottin about. It just makes me wantt to scream. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH actually you dont speak for me at all I am not gonna lose interest in this, and relax it is not that big of a deal just gotta be laid back we will see pics of new movie masters between now and toyfair and nycc which are less than 2 months away So you dont think there excuses are a load of crap???? I don't care thats all Personally I think that just arguing back and forth if you care or if you want lose interest serves no purpose but either way I think that its true that Mattel is pulling something strange here, why would they want to wait till 09 to add to the line? Christmas shopping season should be the target they are going for. It doesn't make any sense why they would want to hold off. And Pooda, were you referring to movie Two Face or like the character in general? movie two face. everything made from the movie came out before the movie except him..... they didnt even put him on any posters. True, but we saw cell cam pics of the movie Two Face for the 5+ a few months before the movie came out. We also saw Slade too. So that means they at least had the designs early enough for a decent prototype for the 5+. And plus isn't weird that for a master toy license for a big budget movie, not to have the designs of a major character? I still say it amounts more to bad business decisions from Mattel than lateness on Nolan's staff. yet they pulled all pics of that fig(at 1st), and its still not in any of the stores that ive been to. plus....we still dont know the hand warner bros. plays in all of this. True and True, but my point was that they were able to design a prototype that looked good before the movie ever came out. So they got the designs early enough for the 5+ prototype. Now you are right they haven't released him in stores. Again who knows, also WB could be wanting to push the figures back but then again wouldn't the Studio want the merch to come out either during the theatrical run or with the DVD? Not Q1 or Q2 of 09?

And Pooda, were you referring to movie Two Face or like the character in general? I think a lot of you guys have lost some perspective here. yeah it's been ages for US. the collectors, but keeping in mind some of Mattel's production problems COMBINED with the lateness of release material on Two Face, and it's not so hard to understand. My theory is that it was simply too late to maneuver a christmas release, at least one of quality, due to their other company problems. Therefore why not wait until spring to make something that's not a rushed hack job? There's a lot of time consuming factors some of you aren't considering, they are a big business after all. Not saying I've talked to their CEO and know every little hold up, or even that they're not being lazy, but they are a business and interested in turning profit off of a popular item, namely anything to do with the wildly popular Dark Knight, so I have difficulty believing the execs are sitting back laughing and WANTING to piss off the fans with delays. Just grow some patience, the spring product should be good. (As for the other companies putting out Two Face stuff, keep in mind that the breadth of product those companies ship out and make is less than Mattel, so they have greater leisure to put immediate effort into a Two Face product.) I get what you are saying and you very well could be right but I think what most of us are thinking is that we knew Two Face was going to be in the movie. We knew he was one of the main characters in the movie. But for some reason known only to Mattel they did not secure the rights to the figure early on in the figure making process? He should have second or third on the list. The Thug and Scarecrow should not have come out before his extra crispy scalp did. I can understand Ra's Al Ghul taking a bit of time b/c they are having to secure likeness rights from Liam Neeson (spl?) but we know that Eckhardt gave his consent b/c of the Hot Toys figure. So either way we are still left with the question, what gives?
