  1. My phasing deadman looks a little different. I wonder if it is one of those running changes Mattel is known for. Mine is cast in a lighter red than the regular one and the "D" is not as thickly painted in order to simulate the color draining as he begins to vanish. By the way the eyes, teeth and "D" glow in the dark/
  2. Those look really good. These should be out in the next few weeks since trs said that all the wave 12 figs arrived in customs on the west coast this last week. I can't wait for Desaad and Darkseid.
  3. The Goddess--I bought this for myself phasing He-Man custom by masterenglish--brother got this for me King Randor--I bought this for myself Color of Fear 2 pack- DCUC wave 11--brother got me this set repainted w9 Black Canary custom to look like prototype--brother got this for me since I bitched nonstop about the hair/face Super Friends DCD 2 pk Black manta/Aquaman-treat to myself SF DCD Scarecrow/Batman 2 pack SF DCD Riddler/Robin 2 pack DCD Kryb, Indigo, Billy Batson w/ Hoppy Justice in the Jungle two pack DCUC wave 10--my mom got this for me Some of these were gifts from myself, others were things I ordered/bought myself and my family just gave me the money for them since they would have no idea where to find or order these from so it saves them the hassel butI consider them gifts from those people.
  4. TRU has raised them in my area to 14.99 a figure and walmart just recently upped them to 14.97.
  5. Having opened a few DCUC cases that have never been opened I can say the messed up cards come that way from the factory. DCUC really doesn't have a good record as far as I can tell of having nicely shaped cards--there are usually a crease here or a bent card or a dent here and there.
  6. That's good that Mattel is doing this but I wonder how it is going to hurt them with e-tailers and retailers like Walmart. Can BBTS or CSC really be happy that Matty is causing people to cancel pre-orders with them and undercutting them especially coming off of the wave 9 shortfall that occurred. Also with Mattel's spotty track record when it comes to QC I'm hesitant anymore ordering figures sight unseen worrying I'll have some issue with it. I'm always experiencing a mix of excitement of getting MOTUC figures from Matty and dread of QC when UPS delivers my MOTUC stuff each month.
  7. All Mattel has said that it would come out next year sometime--no firm date was provided.
  8. I have a set of the wave 5 but I'm glad they are re-issuing them since the QC on them is awful. It seems in the last few waves the paint apps and parts seem to be much better. They also need to re-issue wave 3. All of mine have a grey dust that won't go away and I don't know if that is safe or not especially around kids. Plus SC Sinestro needs to be done especially with the Color of Fear two pack to better match their color. I'd like a re-issued Black Canary to look more like the prototype as far as the haircolor and make-up. They pulled it off very well with Powergirl so why not BC?
  9. So how many waves are there going to be next year? wave 12(Desaad), 13(Cyclotron), 14(Tyr), 15(Samurai), 16(Martian Manhunter) for sure each with a Super Powers headliner and I had read that Mattel might try to add one other wave since they are determined to get out as many figures as they can before their license ends in case for whatever reason it isn't renewed. Plus there are the Lex/Supergirl 2 pack, the walmart Batman/Robin two pack, the walmart Aquaman/Black Manta 2 pack, the re-release 5 pack of wave 5 on Matty.com, the rumored Plastic Man SDCC 2010 exclusive. They also mentioned another 5 pack figure set might come out next year since the Gotham 5 walmart one according to them sold really well. Thats 3 BAF we don't know about yet. Swamp Thing HAS to be one of them. Besides Manhunter he's the only DC character remaining that I have to have. Rumors suggest that the BaF candidates for next year are Elasti-Girl, Colossal Boy, and Starro.

  11. Martian Manhunter is suppose to be the headliner for wave 16 next year.
  12. I really like the new packaging. I was worried that it would be too different from the original to blend well for those of us that display MOC but thankfully it retains most of the same feel. I also like that they have the colored art of the various characters as opposed to the black and white background. Glad they dropped the wave #s and figure #s--I didn't like those especially when I lined up different figures into their teams from different waves. Glad the figures are being posed in more traditional bland poses as opposed to those radical ones in the past. The pins are a neat accessory. When I first heard of these I imagined the same plastic pin for every figure simply saying "75"--nice to get different ones for each figure and more of an artwork pin. The only thing that I don't care for is the big "75 years of Super Power" covering up some of the figure. Looks like these are suppose to show up next week in some specialty shops according to trs on fwoosh so I would think these will be out in mid January. Can't wait. Most looking forward to Desaad(Super Powers goodness), Darkseid(didn't get the first DCSH one holding out for a CnC version), Spectre GITD, Copperhead and I love Iron's color and the die cast accessories.
  13. Like most waves there are some I really am excited about and have been waiting a long time for to be done in action figure form or done better like classic Cheetah and a few that I'm lukewarm on like Negative Man. I love the Super Powers line so I'm thrilled to see Cyclotron being done. Superboy is a nice addition to the Reign of Superman. BD and BB are cool figures visually on the shelf. Negative Man is okay but I would have preferred the energy tranlucent variant of him over the one we are getting here. Trigon is the first BaF I'm not that crazy about since Atom Smasher. I think wave 12 is a tad bit stronger.
  14. I was sitting looking at my Deadman regular figure and his variant. I thought they'd be identical to each other except for the clear plastic from the elbows down and the knees down however upon furthering inspection, the phasing version also is cast in a lighter red plastic everywhere else to simulate the appearance that the color is draining as he is beginning to fade away. Even the lighter red on the outside of the collarand waistband is present and the "D" isn't painted as heavily to be nice and white--some of the red below shows through to help with the fading effect. Also his eyes, teeth and "D" glow well in the dark. Neat.
  15. Elseworlds figures. Other than that I'll buy any of the rest. I know some don't want certain things but I do. I'd love a Black Vulcan, Apache Chief CnC figure, Zebra-Man, Zebra Batman, rainbow brite Batman etc.
  16. I don't think they will want to undersell CSC, ETC and other etailers so I'll say $130 for the set of 8.
  17. I have a few figures that have stray drops of hardened glue on them and was wondering if there is a way to safely remove it without damaging or discoloring the figure.

    Wave 11

Got my set today. These are really nice. Is Kilowog suppose to have a glossy finish on his nose and in his mouth area?
  19. i vote for hawk and dove. I second that. Rumor has it that wave 15(a walmart wave) will have them both along with Samurai, Felix Faust, Phantom Stranger and Lead & Platinum
  20. Gentleman Ghost seems to have only shipped in one case assortment. The one that first shipped out to Target a long time ago. I've never seen one at retail. but all the figures were shipped one per case, the Wave 8 breakdown didn't include any duplicates The wave 8a assortment had 2 Hawkgirls, 2 GG, 1 of each Dr Date and 1 of each Parademon plus one each of two of the WGSH figures. Targets mainly received this one. The wae 8b assortment had 1 Dr Fate, 1 Parademon, Green Lantern WGSH, 1 Shazam WHSH, 2 Mr Terrific, 2 Vigilante and 2 Commander Steel. I only saw this at TRU.
  21. They need to re-release the figures that came in wave 3. They've either developed that greyish dust all over them or they had horrible quality issues. I remember looking high and lo for the Sinestro variant but the paint jobs were horrible. The yellow was slopped all over the place, the corps symbol was off center on a lot of them. I passed on several. Thankfully Ares found a decent one and picked him up for me but I wouldn't mind having a second to display loose. Also if anyone wants to part with the Fathers Three construct let me know I'm interested in them willing to trade some BaF pieces for them.
  22. I still have all the original figures, vehicles and Super Powers playsets from my childhood and their original boxes and some even have the original price sticker on them from before the age of the barcode. My dad got a lot of them from Toys Plus, I remember he got Green Arrow Martian Manhunter Red Tornado Dr Fate and Parademon at Kay Bee Toys in Victoria TX--I remember this day because they held them but before we could go there my dad was trying to purchase a new car and we had to mess with that first, got Firestorm Mantis Desaad from a TRU in Corpus Christi, found Kalibak in a Wool's worth and to top it off we stopped off at Corn Dog 7--for a young kid you can't beat finding a figure, a a corn dog and a day with dad, Batman, Flash Green Lantern Joker Brainiac The Penguin(c'mon Mattel do a SP Penguin) at Albertsons Groceries, Wonder Woman & Robin at a TG&Y store, Mr Miracle, Samurai, Golden Pharoah at a Walmart in Ft Stockton Texas, one Xmas my dad ordered from Sears Xmas catalog a bundle set of Mr Freeze Tyr and the hard to get Cyborg. I was thrilled when I got that Cyborg because it was such a hassel to find but leave it to my dad to move heaven and earth to get me one. I also sent in the proof of purchases for two of the Clark Kents and also have the mail-in Steppenwolf as well as the carded version that came later. The Super Powers and MOTU(most of these I got from Toys by Roy and Toys Plus) were the big things in my childhood and if it weren't for my dad I wouldn't have ever got into collecting and still wouldn't have all the originals--everytime we moved he would carefully pack them up and bring them along never once contemplating selling them in a garage sale. I also have the original She-Ra figures that came out when there was the crossover He-Man/She-ra cartoon film came to theatres, all the Jem dolls, the Secret Wars marvel stuff. In fact, if it weren't for the nostalgia I might not have taken up collecting DCUC. And everytime I get a new set of them I remember my dad and how it is too bad he isn't around to enjoy them with them like when I was a kid. Those were some of my favorite memories.
  23. Yes it looks like they are going to be re-releasing that 2 pack, the Cyborg Sup/Mongul 2 pack, the mud splatterd Clayface two pack and then the new re-release 2 pack of Lex and Supergirl from DCSH. I'll probably pick up another Abin 2 pack simply because those TRU 2 packs had such terrible quality control.
  24. lets see it.(the "no wash") If you can give me instructions on how to go about posting an image I'll try to do so. The reason I don't post pics is I'm pretty challenged when it comes to uploading pics etc and then posting them in a thread.
  25. If anyone wants a loose Joker with all accessories and the build a figure leg let me know. I just want cost plus shipping. I found a Joker today that didn't have the darker green wash on top of the lighter green and I like that better so I don't need this extra.
