  1. I could not disagree more. Having Character Specific Subs would be totally be un cost effective for me. I would want all the subs. That would be 20.00 per month for each sub, I cant do that and still collect MOTUC too. If the subs were four figures each and there were three separate ones? That would be an easier sell for some.
  2. Who buys 35 subscriptions to help a toyl line? It's insane where this hobby takes people at times.

There are a few out there that have more money than god, and happen to be nostalgic toy lovers. Some do it to support the line, some do it for the thrill of selling at a mark up.

  3. I always open my figures as well. But this line is making me want to keep them packaged up. Which, of course, tempts me to buy one extra to open. I haven't gone that crazy yet. I've opened and revealed two of them and it's easy to put them ba k as if they never escaped. I'm like you though, always opening and this line is gonna be displayed in the box in my home.
  4. Amazon was unusually slow with my batman stuff. A week and a half for the two pack, a week for penguin and still waiting for riddler. I love it all(penguin especially) and really hope this line sells like gang busters so it doesn't drop dead like has been said.
  5. Mass Retail. Amazing pics at toyark. Robins face seems off, but I'm not discouraged a bit. This is the uber dream line. It's the line that I will always point to as a collector and know that I dreamed of these figures as a kid and they are on my shelf. Can't wait!
  6. I'm happy to see others loving these preview pics. I need the two leads and the four main villains. Everything past that is gravy. I will buy doubles of all and definitely be saving all funds for this line.
  7. In. In for all. In for doubles. In for whatever they put out. My ultimate dream line since I was five. Can't believe that this is actually happening. I would trade my entire collection (and it's nice) for this line.
  8. All that being said, strobo and the fighting foe men urgently beg for your nay vote by the 6th! Show the world you don't want your shelves clogged with pricey and obscure characters!
  9. I had the exact same story except with my father and he was 55. There's nothing I can say that's gonna make it easier, but remember that everything your mother gave to you, you have a responsibility to pass those same amazing qualities to your kids. In that way, she'll always live on. With my father, during that last week, we were all at the point where we wanted him to go because it was just hell....everything after that becomes a blur in time (but you remember every second when asked) and it gets easier....but never goes away.
  10. Agree on Thundercats too. AWESOME character designs, but clunky figures. Arrow: Robin Hood:Prince of Thieves was a cool little line. Vehicles, soft goods on the figures, playsets....I own most of it and they are cool!
  11. Of course somebody has already said "at least you aren't spending money on whores and booze", because that's the absolute most common defense when somebody accuses you of wasting money. Bartenders and whores probably hear "I could be wasting money on toys right now..." Anyway, if it gets to you, ask yourself why? Do you agree? Do you secretly hate the addicting nature of collecting? If so, sell them and you won't have to hear anything anymore. If not? LOCK YOUR DOOR. If my wife ever said one word about my collecting (and I have a basement dedicated to it), I'd listen to it, say "your opinion is valued" and then ignore her. You gotta have a thicker skin!
  12. And when the odds are against him and there's DANGEROUS work to do....

  13. VERY COOL! Makes me want to pick em' all up for myself to display.....I can't believed I passed on these when they were out.....
  14. Anybody got the Be Sharps for a cheap price?

  15. It was a crappy action movie. I wish I had just held off and watched it on HBO....
  16. Oh come on! This is easy.... There are like 8 networks where you can watch cartoons ALL DAY LONG, plus DVDs and video games.... Cartoons may actually be produced today more than EVER, but they aren't just reserved for Saturday mornings or after school.... I'm jealous of kids today. Constant cartoons? Maybe they aren't as special, but I can't tell you how horrible things were on tv after wrestling or the Cartoon Express was over...
  17. I've sold and bought so many action figures and toys that I've pretty much broken even along the way as far as money being spent, but I would LOVE to go back in time and NOT sell my M.A.S.K. collection which was purchased over the course of many years for BARGAIN prices. I got some real deals on complete stuff through rigorous ebay watching and have no incentive to do that again. I really loved those figures, but I got an offer that basically tripled what I spent on them and off they went.... Oh well. I have a Simpsons playmates collection that ain't going anywhere and I love it...
  18. Hey, thanks for all the Flash Gordon reviews. They were a fun read and made me want to pick them up (despite noted flaws and letdowns...).
  19. Anybody who buys this pack must be either a completist or very easy to please. That deep six is horrible and the one that's coming out with the sharc looks so good, who needs this one? Torpedo wasn't even given cartoon colors, so what's the point? Cutter? That figure is easily the worst figure released so far. Sad too, because Cutter is the one of the only Joe vehicle drivers that's worth anything designwise. Gungho's head, Shipwreck's body and I'm supposed to be happy? That head doesn't work AT ALL for Cutter. I have never complained about this line (thankful it exists), but this is just a horrible pack. It will warm shelves across the nation for months to come!
  20. Unbelievable. This is something I'd never thought I'd see. A more mature G.I.JOE? Animated? Insane. What's not to love? Even the animation style is a nice update.
