  1. I love the first. And I love this one. I'll be happy to own them both. V
  2. I had the same problem and so I replaced his o-ring with an older and streched out one. It at least lets you make him hunch over without looking to weird and it gets rid of the gut. V
  3. Serpentor OK Cobra Commander is the great leader of Cobra. I except that. And I will always have all the respect in the world for him, BUT. The Comic version of Serpentor could have beaten GI Joe. Cobra would have ruled the world. Thats why they had to kill him. It was getting to unbeleavable that Serpentor would lose to GI Joe. I vote Serpentor
  4. I remeber back in the early nineties there was an arcade only first person shooter for GI Joe. You got to fly around a Cobra invaded city in a helicoptor and kill anything that moved. I'd love to have that game in my house, Anyone remember what it was called? I like the Metal Gear idea. I think it would rock. V
  5. I think we need to see what the price point will be before assuming they are ripping us off. But I totally agree with you when it comes to the first season thing. I'm just happy to see that they are finally putting these on DVD. My VCR broke a while back and since I had the DVD I just never got around to replacing it. I've been without GI Joe cartoons for easily 3 years. I'm happy V
  6. For display it's great. But considering how many times I've had hands fall off and such, I can't imagine them lasting very long in the hands of children. I'm still hooked on the original 3 3/4 line. Although I collect the new ones in order to do my part as a collector trying to sustain the line. I can't fall in love with these guys as hard as I try. I think they should keep it simpler and make them sturdier. V
  7. I appreciate you asking Firestongue I'm all good now, it was six years ago and any pain that I feel now is minimal in comparison. I'm not in anymore, I spent about three months recovering in the hospital before requesting discharged. It was good thing though, I never would have met my wife if I stayed. I do miss my buddies though, from time to time I get a call and get to hear everything their doing. I've yet to take advantage of my Vet coverage. And I stay pretty clear of doctors these days. V
  8. Unfortunatly right after I finished up my training at Benning I ended up in Ft. Leanardwood recoving in the hospital. I developed Paratinitis, due to an ignored appendix ruptureing during feild training exercises. Never got to go anywhere V
  9. 11 Bravo EX - Airborne infantry V
  10. I wish you didn't ask this question. It just tends to sting a bit. I'd say that I spent about 5-7K this year. But thats only because I'm trying to regain a lot of lost peices in mint cndition, as well as troop building Crimson Guards and Cobra Soldiers. If I had to put a value on the collection, I'd say about 17,000 - 20,000. I just had to put five large rubbermaid tubs into storage that held a good amount of vechiles that I just couldn't keep out because I ran out of space. I don't want to think about death, I'm thinking more about retirement. I can see myself having a giant room or actic and spending my golden years just starring at them. After I die I guess I'd leave it up to my wife or kids to do with them as I see fit. V
  11. That was the movie........... then it tried to rewrite GI Joe history and went the way of many words I can't say in a forum. V
  12. I would buy it. But mainly just to meet my own standards as a completest. My only gripe is that it's hard to have an underwater battle set up on a bookcase shelf. Not to mention that I keep hoping that the qualty standards will to up on the 3 3/4 line. When you mention Funskol, I think of down. V
  13. This was a really great disscussion before the last two pages, I'd love to hear the answers to Kidmold's questions. V
  14. I feel that most of the online stores are over priced on vintage stuff. A big smile fills my face each time I enter a toy store that dosen't use the Internet to sell it's figures. It mean I actually get a good price. But for new stuff. I say "The store on 44" is the palce to shop. SmallJoes.com is good also, but they take forever to get the stuff to you. Try www.thestoreon44.com and you wont be displeased. V
  15. I must say that Serpentor did have some really good moments in the comic book. I do miss the comic Serpy. V
  16. I think we also have to look at the ties that Cobra has had in International arms dealing. (At least in the original comic version) Even our own government had ties to Cobra. Their Island was constantly occupied by foriegn nationals. And their armies around the world were made up of many different races all existing within cells which were hidden. Think about the IRA. Why hasn't England sent in the army and invaded IRA encampments in Africa. But meanwhile there have been many times in history that the IRA was extremely active and caused many deaths. To many politics and not enough people fighting for the people. Our leaders don't make it into office on a $0 balance checking acount and no special interests to guide their judgements in the future. As was said, we have to keep in mind that Cobra is fantastical. And as was also said, citizens weren't supposed to know they existed. V
  17. Destro was most certinly the worst. They should be ashamed of themselves, sticking any non O-ring figure into a current pack. It makes me mad that even now at Wave 5 they still have a figure packaged with a non O-ring. V
  18. The paint does look really good. But I don't think the sound attach feature really looks well with this. It looks way to bulky on the back and the spring load launcher looks like it's just kinda stuck there. I'll buy one for the fact I love the snowcat. But I'm a little disappointed. V
  19. I work right around the Times Square Toys R Us and have yet to see them. But why are we kidding ourselves. It always take NY two to three weeks longer then the rest of the country to get Joes. I do have more luck with Target in Long Island, thats if you have the means to get there. They tend to get the stuff about a week before TRU. V
  20. I can't tell if the Viper that comes with it is the same as the "Jungle" viper or if it's just really close. Dose anyone know? V
  21. I wouldn't repaint unless the original paint job is so bad that the figure looks hidious. Repainting figures is lots of fun but can make a mess out of your joes if not done with a great amount of care. I say repaint anything that makes you not want to display it in its current condition. But dont repaint for the heck of it unless you've done it many times before. V
  22. We never get to see him die in the movie. He simply gets his cape shoved into the turbine of his air chariot by Falcon. And then he goes flying out through some sort of sky light on his butt with his chariot out of control. V
  23. What? This is the figure that I played into the ground every time as a kid. I think my dad replaced more of these for me than any other figure in my joe collection. The idea alone of the seige. The infiltrate from the inside. The uniform that distincts them as superior. If anything I think the Cartoon didn't do these guys enough justice. I prefer the comics outlook of the Crimson Guard. And to reiterate a statment made earlier. You have to hold one of these guys in your hand to get the true feel for the figure. There's nothing in the joe universe like a C10 Crimson Guard. V
