  1. what makes what youre saying with the pics any different than what we were saying? if hes been drawn both sizes in the books at ANY point in time, then the fig isnt incorrect.....its just not what you want.

Didn't say it had to be my way. Just showing that the folks who felt the figure should be taller have a legit complaint.

  2. Here's a few to show that they have been drawn about the same size, and Sinestro even taller.

Now you can see that the folks that think DCUC Sinestro should have been at least a little taller have a legit argument. Can the ridiculous fighting cease now?

  3. Thomas from CSC posted this at Fwoosh last night:

Okay folks. Strap in. Here's the REAL sccop.

I've read a good portion of the posts leading up to this broadcast, but admittedly starting to trail off after several pages and ultimately skipped ahead in order to get this message out ASAP. I'll go back and read the rest later tonight or tomorrow, so if I miss anything in this post I'll try to cover it on the follow-up.

Let's clarify this first. Mattel didn't screw up CSC's order specifically or exclusively. Mattel screwed up EVERYONE AND ANYONE that ordered the solid cases. This happened in several parts. First, they received all the figures EXCEPT Shazam. Then they figured out that the factory did not split the Superman cases in the 50/50 mix they were supposed to AND there was no to tell the difference between the red and black cases, NO IDEA which are which. That's the basic rundown of the logistics issues on Mattel's end.

Now let's cover the service issues. Mattel didn't bother to check the Superman cases in their warehouses even after they knew of the case packing error. They just starting shipping 'em all willy-nilly. Now this is the good part you'll all want to savor... THEY ACTUALLY TOLD US THAT WE WOULD NEED TO WORK WITH OTHER RETAILERS THAT ALSO RECEIVE SUPERMAN CASES IN ORDER TO COORDINATE 'SWAPS' TO GET THE RIGHT MIX OF RED/BLACK SUPERMAN FIGURES WE NEED TO FILL OUR ORDERS. This is not a joke. This was not 'a disgruntled employee's view of the matter.' This is their ONLY actual suggested solution to the problem. Even though our Superman cases are allocated and being released for shipping, they still won't check them for us and let us know what we're getting.

Now, let's cover where we are at with this shipment... We REFUSED to take delivery of the first six figures until the Shazam figure was available to ship at the same time. Tens of thousands of dollars worth of figures clogging up my warehouse does NOTHING for me if I can't ship ANY of them out until the seventh figure arrives. I'm told that arrangements have now been made to get us the seventh figure out of the Texas warehouse (which apparently just arrived there this week), so all of our figures are now being prepped for shipment to our warehouse. We STILL need to sort out the Superman situation, as we still do not know WHICH Supermans we are getting. We may get all of one type or a random mixed quantity of each (though we expect they'll all be the same.) They should be here a few days before the Shazam arrives from Texas, so hopefully we can establish the necessary 'trades' with a couple other retailers in the meantime.

As you can likely understand, I've been at odds with whether to lay this all out for you or not. Do you take a chance on pissing off your supplier who has yet to make things even quasi-right? Or do you continue to allow your business to look like the incompetent entity in a total cluster***k created solely by the manufacturer (yet again)? I actually REQUESTED that Mattel's marketing department be proactive for a change and address this via their shaky message board web-dude who is likely not allowed to admit fault of any kind when it comes to this kind of stuff, but I wasn't really holding my breath on that one happening anyway. Regardless, now you can see the reason for delay in any response from us in the past couple of weeks.

So in a nutshell: Product headed our way now. Superman swaps still pending. Charging commences. Packing commences. Shipping commences. Customer product arrival happy dances commence. Hopefully all within the next week or two. Hopefully without further issue. Hopefully.

For anyone that ordered Wave 6 online, it's not the store's fault you haven't gotten your figures yet. Blame Mattel. If you frequent any other toy forums, please pass this info along, so that online retailers do not suffer from Mattel's blunder.

  4. Crossbones has impressive height, due to being the Hulkling body. The mask is very nicely done. His guns are reuses of the Hydra weapons, and he can't hold them without rubber bands. Knee joints are loose. Cool figure, although I'm not sure how accurate he is. 6.5/10

Heroes Reborn Iron Man. I like him. Maybe not the greatest design for the armor, but it looks pretty close to what I remember it looking in that storyline. Like pretty much all Iron Man figures not based on the ML1 base, it looks too small to be a guy in a suit of armor. Not a big deterrent for me. He's pretty poseable, despite the Hasbro elbows and ankles. Paint is clean, with a couple small areas of slop. 7.5/10

  5. "Nova" Human Torch. Great looking figure. The nova effects stand out. Legs used are fine for him, since he's not a crouching character and the flame "hair" is much better than the HML FF wave figure's. 7.5/10

Guardian uses the Bullseye/Quicksilver base body, so that's good. Uses all the old Toybiz joints. Maybe a bit overboard with the blue wash over the white areas of the costume. Very nicely done. 8.5/10

  6. Picked these figures up today:

Overall, I like the figures I bought. Wasn't crazy about Vision or Ultimate War Machine, and I already have Kang, so I'll try to trade for their parts.

Wish I would've left Ben Reilly in the display tray. The Human Torch legs don't work for a Spidey figure. Not crazy about the poseability and the web shooters interfere with the wrist joints. Good paint, mostly, and great range on the neck joint are positives for him. 5/10

  7. Darkseid may have more raw power, but that isn't something that would deter Thanos. He's stood up to Odin, gone toe-to-toe with guys like Thor and Champion (who had the power gem), and outsmarted the Elders of the Universe. He devised a way to take down Galactus, and has conquered the universe several times. It would be the toughest fight of his life, but I think Thanos takes it. Barely.

  8. Pretty evenly matched, of course, but I think Thanos is just a bit tougher, smarter, and has much more experience fighting beings with as much or more power than he possesses. I may be a bit biased, though. :D

  9. Where at in Louisiana? I just ordered a set from Impulse Creations since I figured it might be a while since my WMs started carrying the line.

I went to the store in Gonzales, just outside Baton Rouge. They just put them out yesterday I'm guessing as I went on Saturday. They were putting things out on Saturday but I didn't see a DC box.

I was thinking about heading out there this weekend, mainly to check out what's at the outlet mall. Might check a few Wally's out there to help some folks out.

  10. For you guys that have wave 4 in your area, but are having trouble getting wave 3, howzabout we help each other out. I've got Nightwing and a masked Deathstroke, and can probably get others at the SuperTarget in town. While I want all of wave 4, the ones I want the most are Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and Ares. Don't make me beg. @lol@

I am keeping an eye out and I need the masked Deathstroke ... let's see what we can do.

Sounds good. My trade thread is here, in case I've got some other stuff you'd like.
