  1. At first it was rare, but I've been seeing more and more of them lately. Even more so than the regular Electra and Ronin 2 pack.
  2. I found the animated Sunstorm and Ratchet set at a local Target yesterday for only $4.99 on clearance. So they are deffinately out there. Sounds like, from what I am hearing that this may have been a mistake on Targets part? Anyway I am glad that I was able to find one. I was in instant disbelief when I saw the price tag at first. By the way, the sales tag stated that it was only good for the week. End's this coming Saturday on 4/11.
  3. Picked up the Target exclusive animated Sunstorm and Ratchet 2 pack on clearance for an astonishing $5 bucks. I couldn't believe my eyes when the tag on the shelf said $4.99. I thought foresure that it had to be a misprint or something. Saved $20.00 fricken dollars on the set. @bumblebee@
  4. What really bothers me is I will probably end up liking this movie just because I like the characters so much. Now I will get trolled on by the majority of the people that have already seen this movie because most of them are saying the same thing that it really wasn't that good. It's like, if the majority of folks out there say that something sucks and you end up ( as an individual ) liking it then youre considered a piece of sh*t for doing so. To me it's just a movie, it's entertainment and too many people take it way too seriously and I think that is why they leave feeling dissapointed in the end.
  5. Yes. It's called not being Lemmings and refusing to buy these. Which several of us are already doing. We are speaking with our wallets. Just as you are speaking with yours by saying 'Wow. This paint ap on Spider-Man is truly hideous, but here is my $9.50 anyway. Continue making these inferior figures Hasbro.' I agree with you. I am a hypocrite for buying these, but can honestly tell you that I have slowed down a bit and have become more picky and choosey when it comes to which ones I have purchased lately. It's really hard for me because I really like Marvel characters and their figure counterparts so much that it is hard for me not to give in, pull back and say " Hey, I am being robbed with the quality and price tag on these things ". Also, I just love the hobby of collecting too damn much.
  6. Overall I am enjoying these, but I can certainly understand where a lot of you are coming from in terms of not being completely satisfied with this new line. What I mean by that is 1). The paint applications on the majority of these figures is inexcusable. 2). The way that Wolverines claws are done on the Origins line is just utter crap. 3) Why are we, as consumers now forced to pay more when we are being given cheaper looking and assembled garbage. Who out there would like to start a revolution against Hasbro? We should demand better product for our hard earned cash!
  7. Maybe it's just me, but I actually don't mind the head on the new MU Hulk figures. I think they were done pretty well, not to mention that Hulk is supposed to look stupid ( especially the green version ). He's not very smart and has the mind of a 3 year old.
  8. Came across and purchased a sealed ML series 2 Hulk w/ torn shirt ( variant ) for $20 bucks. Also found a ML apocalypse series red Iron Fist variant sealed for only $8 bucks at a local antique mall the other day. About 1 week ago I was also able to finally find a sealed ML series 6 brown costume Wolverine. He cost me $40 bucks but I was willing to pay that price because he is the best Wolverine in the entire series. I can officially say that my collection is now complete! @jump#
  9. I too, have almost the entire collection of the Toy Biz ML figures still sealed. I have Juggernaut, Deadpool, Dark Phoenix and many others. I found the majority of mine at retail during the time as well. Ahh, the good ol' days 5 to 6 years ago. I miss you Toy Biz. Just compare the quallity of those to the newer figures today. Plus they would only cost us like $7.00 to $8.00 dollars at the most and you would get a lot more for what you paid for back then. One of the figures I own sealed that I have seen go for quite bit is the 2002 Spider Man classics Scarlet Spider.
  10. It's like the autopilot from the movie " AIRPLANE "!
  11. I still believe that the movie will be entertaining. I saw the new trailer for it in the theater. It looks rather violent. I didn't really care for the end result with X-3 but have watched it again recently and it still holds a lot of entertainment value. How many times have they changed the X-MEN and Wolverine since the 1960's? A lot, thats for sure. Thats why, for me it's fun to see a different take/ version of our favorite mutants. I tend to think of it as a what if scenario or an alternate time line. I don't go in with unrealistic expectations anymore. Just take it for what it is. A movie.
  12. Well, since no one has posted anything new lately then it pleases me to be the first. I broke down and picked up a MU Spider Man. The more I kept looking at him the more he began to grow on me. Even though I still prefer that he had the darker blue in his costume I have discovered that the detail on the figure is quite amazing. I was able to find one that has a pretty good paint application. The webbing on the figure looks rather nice. The majority that I have seen up 'till this one have had a crappy paint job with the webbing. I also got both MU Hulks. I really like these Hulk figures a lot. Like I said, these figures have really grown on me within the last couple of weeks. I find myself wanting more and more. I spotted a Black Panther and now really want him. At first I didn't really care too much about the new MU style but now I have changed my mind. These are way cool and fun! The MU figures remind me of that certain game that came out a couple of years ago, Marvel Ultimate Alliance. It's like I am creating my own alliance/ team just like the game. Happy Hunting everyone! @Spidey@
  13. I agree. I'm sure that we will start to see these in mass quantities very soon. Especially with the success that it sounds like this line is already begining to generate.
  14. This is the thing that has got me the most jazzed about the 4 inch scale - they are going to make the BAF's look even bigger and cool. Now that I have a few of the 4 inch I can safely say that I still prefer the 6 inch scale, but the 4 inch definitely has its place. I couldn't agree more. Think about the Toy Biz ML BAF Sentinel with a bunch of the 4" inch figures duking it out. Sweet!
  15. Well, aren't you the lucky guy! I had some luck today myself. Decided to hit the TRU in Annapolis. Thought sure they'd have nothing, but I was down there anyway, so I HAD to check... and found several Marvel Universe figures on the hooks! I grabbed the only Iron Man they had (more on him in a minute) and both of the Stealth Ops Iron Man figures they had! @bounce@ I left behind 2 of the bloated-head Punishers, a Daredevil or 2 (nice looking figure, but I'm a very casual fan of DD, so I left it for someone else), a Spider-Man (might have picked it up if they'd chosen a darker shade of blue. His pants are too light for my taste), Wolverine in that black and gray outfit (which I've never seen before this figure) and a "Flaming Hair Johnny Storm" figure. I'm pretty sure that's everything they had left, but that was late afternoon/early evening, so there's no guarantee that someone else didn't snatch up a bunch more after I left. But they had no Silver Surfer love for me! @sad@ Now, on to the Iron Man figures... the 2 Stealth Ops ones are nearly perfect. One has a small black dot near where his nose would be, the other has a small paint blemish that looks like a scratch on one side of his chest, nothing major. But the regular Iron Man... as has happened to others, I got one that shouldn't have passed through quality control, In My Opinion. The problem is the helmet. There's what looks like a bad molding issue in the upper left corner of the mouth slit, and just above that, there's a very noticable, rectangular discoloration in the gold paint. I snapped a couple pics real quick with the camera on my BlackBerry 8900 to show what I mean. They didn't come out as clear as I'd like, so I may try to take better pics later with my "real" digital camera. Notice the area circled in orange: I'm not the only person to be a victim of mold and/or paint issues on Iron Man's helmet. Check out the review HERE to see one that's in even worse shape than the one I got, one that DEFINITELY should have ended up on the reject pile, not on store shelves. You'll also notice that he had the same complaint with the Spider-Man figure that I had. The sculpt on Spidey is SUPERB, it's only the blue paint they chose that leaves something to be desired. So, bottom line, this Iron Man will be staying sealed in his "plastic prison" as my Mint On Card one. When I can find one with the paint and molding as flawless as on my Stealth Ops ones, I'll pick it up to be the one I'll open. Overall, it was a decent day. Could have been better, I would have been even happier if they'd had Silver Surfer, but the 2 Iron Man figures were the ones I wanted most, so not a bad haul today. BTW, the real reason I went looking today? Some of you mentioned an "on sale date" of March 1st, and today happens to be March 1st! Anyone else have any luck finding these today? I'm really happy that you were able to find a few of the figs that you wanted. I, myself didn't get a chance to go out hunting today, but I am planning on going out in the morning after work ( I work the graveyard shift ) to check a few stores on my way home. It's funny that you mentioned the problem with Spidey's costume 'cause that was the same reason that I ended up not getting him as well. The blue is way too light. The real shocker is the art work of Spidey depicted on the blister card which shows him with a much darker shade of blue costume. I would have definately picked him up if the blue would have been darker.
  16. I'm glad that youre enjoying the animated figures but I can't say that I share youre love for them thus far. How can you ( being Hasbro ) give Wolverine claws that he holds in his hands. I just don't understand Hasbro's intension with that one. I guess the removable claws takes me back to my childhood with the Secret Wars figures. I found Colossus and Iceman this morning. Colossus is very cool and Iceman is by far my least favorite from this line. At least with the Secret Wars Wolverine his claws clipped onto his wrists, though.
  17. I'm glad that youre enjoying the animated figures but I can't say that I share youre love for them thus far. How can you ( being Hasbro ) give Wolverine claws that he holds in his hands. I just don't understand Hasbro's intension with that one.
  18. Thats strange about Gambit. I have heard that he is only supposed to be packaged 1 per case as well but I've already seen like 4 or 5 of him in my neck of the woods. I actually picked up 2 for myself. He's a sweet figure overall, in my opinion.
  19. I just want you guys to know that I hate all of you right now! I've been looking ever since I saw the Marvel Universe figures at a Local Comic Shop and passed on them because they were $12 a piece! Stupid Diamond Distribution and their insane mark-ups! @cussing@ But so far, here in Maryland, I'm coming up empty EXCEPT FOR the LCS that got them in. Wal*Marts... nothing. Targets... nada. Toys "Я" Us... oh, a couple of them had the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie figures and the Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon figures, but the regular Marvel Universe figures were nowhere to be seen. And their website also shows the MU figures as Out Of Stock, which totally sucks giant, hairy, sweaty MONKEY BALLS, because they have the best price around at only $7.99 each, both on the web and in-store! @bH@ Haven't checked K-Mart yet, but may have to do so tomorrow. @hmmm@ After seeing them in person, I really want the 2 Iron Man figures, and maybe Silver Surfer. If he had looked like the prototype I remember seeing, I would have wanted the Punisher, too. Instead, we get this goofy thing... ...with the old, gaudy white gloves and boots (and belt, too) and an oversized head that looks ridiculous! #WTF# Luckily, Hasbro and/or Marvel must have realized that one was made of suck, because we're getting a better Punisher in Wave 2... ...so I'll be waiting for that one. In that wave, I'll also probably grab classic Iron Man, and both versions of the Hulk! Now these things just need to show-up at TRU or Wal*Mart in plentiful quantities, so I can grab the ones I want. @hmmm@ EDIT: Come to think of it, the Punisher prototype I saw was probably this version 2 one coming in Wave 2, because I remember the prototype having the black gloves, belt and boots. Trust me when I say to you that " I feel youre pain ". I know just how frustrating collecting these damn things can be. Just remember that these new MU figures aren't even slated to actually come out until March 1st, or something around that time period. I am quite certain that you will see a ton of these within the next several weeks to a month down the road. I think that the few of us collectors out there that have already found a couple is probably due to certain stores jumping the gun. I can honestly tell you that this is the obvious reason because the few stores that I have seen them in only have a very small amount hanging on the pegs. One more positive account that you can take in knowing is that not too many of us are happy with this new line and that should tell you that they will probably, eventually become very easy to track down. Especially at the expense of the heavy price tag attached to these damn things. I just dont see this line lasting for very long, in my opinion. They are fun but theyre not up to Marvel Legend standards. Happy hunting! By the way I picked up the MU Silver Surfer from Toys R Us the other day and, in my opinion he is probably one of the better figures out of the series thus far. What makes him cool is he has a type of pearlescent coloration to him. When you place him under a certain type of light his entire body has this pearly metallic sheen all over. It looks rather, cosmic!
  20. I also came across several of the new MU figures at my local Toys R Us the other day. I picked up a Gambit, Deadpool, Iron Man and Iron Man stealth ops. Toys R Us had almost every single figure in the assortment and the ones that I grabbed were my favorites out of the bunch, so far. I am a little undecided at this point if I would want to continue collecting this new line. Some of the figures look way too incredibly cheesy for my tastes. Like, for instance all of the X-MEN origins Wolverine figures have his claws bound together. I hate that! These figures don't live up to the quality that I think they should for $8.00 dollars a pop. I do, however like a select few of the figures and will pick and choose instead of collecting the whole entire line. There doesn't appear to be any consistency with this line so far and thats a little disapointing for me. One other thing is Hasbro's continuous challenge with the paint application on their figures. The lone Gambit that I found has a few, minor paint issues that just gets on my nerves. Now I will have to try and find another one with a nicer paint app. and that's a little aggravating.
  21. I totally agree with you. I have started to do the same thing. becoming more picky when it comes to the figure that I want to add to my collection. Especially the large amount of repaints Hasbro keeps pushing out. It has become a little ridiculous.
  22. From what I've seen and understand TNT will be airing the entire series, meaning that this wasn't a one time thing. This show has really become popular. Where did you hear this? I never heard about TNT airing anything I actually saw a commercial for the series a couple of days ago on TNT.
  23. Well Canada got them in in January, but they are scheduled for release in March so it isn't that big a stretch to be finding them now in mid February. I do realize what you are saying. My point is that, if Hasbro is going to put these out early ( in some stores, like Toy's R Us ) then put them out already. Don't play some stupid game by only putting a few out here or there. Let us all have a crack at the new figures. I know that these new figures, more than likely will be released in abundance come March but if you are going to send them out and put them out on the shelves early then at least make it fair for everyone. Mass release them, don't just place a small amount in various locations. The more I think about Hasbro's motive to this scenario it seems like they are probably doing this to test the market, to see how they will sell. I think I may have answered my own question. Oh well, just had to vent off some steam because I want the figures so badly. Thanks!
  24. How are you guy's finding these already? I'm so confused. This is one of my many gripes with Hasbro as a company. They did this same garbage with a lot of the Indiana Jones figures ( from the last 2 waves ). I really believe that Hasbro get's some type of sadistic enjoyment out of playing these head games with collectors.
  25. I've been hearing rumors that Toy's R Us has already been putting these MU figures out on the shelf. How come then when I go to my Toy's R Us they don't have crap and when you ask one of the clerks they just stare at you dumbfounded? Did some stores accidently put these on the shelf before the intended date? I really want to get my paws on these as soon as possible because I'm sure everyone here as well as me knows that these are going to go quick.
