  1. I honestly did not see the characters as stereotypes of African-Americans... I saw them as stereotypes of urban youth, particularly inner city gangs, which can be comprised of any race. Here in Arizona, it's not uncommon to see the same behavior of Hispanic-Americans, as well as caucasians. Check out many hip-hop videos from the past 10+ years, and the lifestyle is glorified. If anything, I found it funny because it shows how silly "thugs" look when they think they're being cool. It wasn't a racial stereotype, it was a lifestyle and personality stereotype.
  2. Um, actually, in the cartoon, Cobra Commander was disfigured... There is a scene in one episode where Destro walks in on him eating and is obviously disgusted by the sight. Then in the animated movie, when it is revelaed he was part of Cobra-La, they show his face as being disfigured, as well. Granted, the whole Cobra-La thing would be a joke in a live-action movie, but why wouldn't we accept a disfigured Cobra Commander? My big concern on this is that, if he's disfigured to such a degree, is the mask a breathing aparatus (and therefore an excuse for him to have that sibilant speech pattern)? Otherwise why wear a clear mask over disfigurement like that?
  3. This could explain a lot about why I was confused when I read the articles and looked at the pictures. The article stated that these were 7-packs, and while the arctic pack had 7 inside, the desert pack only shows 6 inside, with 7 on the back. I think they're still putting the final touches on what exactly is going to be in the desert pack.
