  1. I Do. ... um, and most of wave 8 ... 4 of wave 9 and all of wave 11..
  2. is glad we cleared that up.. ?

  3. Doctor what?! Are people into that over there? I'm strictly soopdahero buying guy . . with the odd venture into GI Joe, Avatar (another reason to shake fists at Mattel .. whine-post to follow soon) .. and Star Wars when I've really got to buy a toy and there's nothing else on the shelf looking at me.. If anyone ever wants me to look out for anything like that, just give me a shout.. looking for extra stuff when I'm walking around toy stores, will make me a little less upset about the Mattel & DC stuff that really SHOULD be on the shelves..
  4. I'm sure most people that are on the boards have better things to do than search for extra toys for someone who moans on an epic scale! No, that really would be fantastic, but being new on here, I'm not sure how things work .. And add to that my poor luck with a seller with 100+ (and 100% at the time) feedback on eBay, I'm so worried about being burned again... Looking at recent ebay activity .. it looks like getting Series 8 as a full set is a write-off anyway .. they hardly show up at all, so I doubt if any are out there in stores still (shame, it was only the most exiting series so far?!). Was this a particularly badly stocked series? I'll have to pick them up in dribs & drabs .. I won a few Giganta parts this week . . so at least it's a start.
  5. Hi, just a quickie .. Does anyone know a way to unclip the wings from the 3 3/4" Republic Gunships without breaking them? They look kinda well stuck? I just want to dismantle both ships I have as I've decided to eBay them.. but I'll have to find the weirdest shaped box ever if I can't unclip the wings off them both?! Sorry if this is in the wrong place !
  6. That's sort of what we're forced to do ... but it's no easy task trying to find the best prices (especially seeing as sellers currently have DCUC wave 9 at $35 each! How much are they in-store?). And now I've completely missed Series 8 (see 1st post) I'm a series behind .. at one point I was trying to get on top of these so that I could get to a position where I could pre-order at somewhere like Cornerstore comics .. and just keep up with it that way. Anyway, my search problems aside, postage is also a bone of contention for buying from abroad. The vast difference in postal costs is unbelievable sometimes! I've been charged the same for a single carded figure as I have for an entire run, and it's such a drama asking for a bit back when you pay $20 postage and the postal label says $7 or $8 .. OK, you can argue that 'how hard can it be ... spending money, sat down in the comfort of your own home?' .. but some of us over here would love to have that opportunity to actively go around all the different stores searching for new releases or bargains .. we have nothing like that. The only ones we can go to are Comic Stores who generally charge more than ebay (if you want a full set). So ... looking at that fact .. Hasbro and Mattel are actually making toy collectors over here even more unhealthy than our stereotypical lifestyles suggest we will be .. I should be running all over, dressed in sports gear, nudging toy scalpers out of the way, to complete my sets .. but instead I am scouring ebay for hours on end and using my bloated tater tot fingers to moan about it on toy forums. Hasbro and Mattel are bad for your health!
  7. Ewwww ... you'd already convinced me to join as a 51st state with your toy offerings .. why'd you have to spoil it with sports?! .. and we do speak the same language too (but I'm sure we invented it ... hey, but don't quote me on that?!) ... although, I've just got off the phone with someone over in your side of the pond and it took around twice as long . . due to regional 'difficulties'.. ? [and just between you and me ... can we leave Scotland out of this deal? The Scottish frighten me.. they're all hairy and angry and stuff .. and that's just the women!]
  8. I wish I had any DC figures on my Wall Mart Shelves I wish we had Wal-Marts ... so there !? (Sorry .. I'm from England .. all we have are bowler hats & bad dentistry!)
  9. I put this in the general toy bit, but as it relates to DC and Marvel ... I thought it might be better off here.. Maybe someone'll read it ?! I've also put it in the DC section .. so don't read it again if you see another! If you feel that this is in the wrong section, let me know! Hi, I'd firstly like to say that this will be a whinge of epic proportions, but if you like other people's misery ... read on ... for this is the tale of Well, my version anyway ... The U.K. has always been a little behind in the toy front, but with being able to see (via the internet) some of the amazing toys that hit U.S. stores and the current pitiful choice the U.K. toy stores have, we're feeling it harder than ever.. There was once upon a time where I'd walk into a store and nearly fall over at the beauteous Secret Wars and Super Powers figures on offer .. I snapped them all up with my pocket money, not even knowing that there was other waves of them .. that's all we were given and we knew nothing more .. Time moved on and Toy biz handled the marvel heroes excellently (well, for the time) .. heck, I even got a job in a comic shop .. so I was starting to know a little more about what was offer. DC Direct took things to the next level with good quality sculpts .. and whilst working in the shop I got a fair few good ones. Then Marvel Legends arrived ... in all it's Glory ! Unfortunately .. I'd left the shop and got myself a 'real' job by that point .. dammit. I came back into serious Superhero toy buying around the time of the Sentinel series .. I'd been buying a few Star Wars items and whatever scraps of JLU figures we were thrown to us by Supermarkets and toy stores.. So that was the start of using the internet to see what was out there ... and there was lots ... I'm still struggling to get some ones that were released prior to the sentinel series now (*1st advert .. I'm missing a Deadpool still . . I got a sealed Red Foil Juggernaut as a swap for a loose 'pool if anyone wants to? No? Ah, well ... read on!). Then came the store exclusives ... I was mortified to hear that the Giant Man series would be a Wal-Mart exclusive .. but then thought ... 'hang on .. Wal-mart own Asda (a supermarket chain over here in the U.K.)!' , I then spent the months following the U.S. release of that series taking the family for the weekly shop there (3-4 times further than the closest supermarket!) .. Months later nothing. But then they arrived ... strangely enough through a shop called Woolworths who (as far as I'm aware) have nothing to do with Wal-Mart .. Woolworths, although overpriced always surprised as far as toys went ... they even got some of the earlier series' in cheap at some point. And then recession hit hard. Woolworths, on the verge of their 100th anniversary, folded. It was a long time coming, as the shop was overpriced AND sold the most ridiculous tat imaginable, but we loved 'em?! And that was it .. the beginning of the end for the U.K. .. every shop stopped doing Marvel Legends completely (after the 1st Hasbro one).. I don't know if they're scared to venture into this now because of the recent economic downturn, or it's because the last few Toy Biz series' became peg warmers for months & months .. either way we're losing out. All that's on the shelves are power Rangers and Ben Flamin' 10 (aargh! I hate that cartoon!).. Ban Dai are laughing all the way to the bank with their mediocre kids TV licenses over here! Aren't Hasbro & Mattel willing to push their wares on us? We've had a trickle of superhero stuff recently (Batman : The Brave & The Bold & Wolverine Origins), but none of the stuff that makes their companies stand out.. I'd LOVE to see the Nemesis, Red Hulk & even the Brood Series of M.L. hit shelves over here, 3 3/4 Marvel Universe ones too .. and don't get me started on DCUC! OK, maybe a little rant about DCUC, I'm up to wave 7 now . . and after finding a loose lot of 1 & 2, they've been getting more and more woeful to acquire as time went on, Wal Mart one was a nightmare, and import duty on the ones following that nearly made me cry! .. Which brings me to series 8.. Looking at the internet now, is a little too late, as his name litters toy forums, but I was gullible enough to buy from the eBay seller MOTUMATT* (Also sells as MMATT, real name Matthew T. Westover, Google him for more tales of woe) . .. A couple of months later .. no figures & no refund. Mortified. It's a struggle to find the funds for one set, now I have to do it all over again.. But it's the recent months that have hurt the most .. and all the store exclusives that have been announced recently .. The M.U. Giant man & Skrull stuff looks amazing, but we don't even get the regular figures here, so I'll be watching that pass me by, I'll have to start saving for a scalped set of the upcoming Wal-Mart wave of DCUC figures on ebay (Wal-Mart . .. please .. just give Asda in the U.K. some!). We don't have Target related stores and toys R us U.K. get none of the U.S. exclusives OR for that matter, anything good at all. The icing on my misery cake were the U.S. Only subscription to Marvel Online Comics, with the free Nick Fury figure (Noooo! I was there ... about to subscribe and then I saw the dreaded words!) and the U.S. only best buy release of the Green Lantern Cartoon with the Free Hal Jordan (Green Lantern is my FAVORITE! How dare they?!). Nick's going for $50+ on eBay, so I can kiss him goodbye . . Hal's not got a buy it now price as yet, but he's a popular guy, so I'll not win him on the reasonably cheap side if at all? And lastly, sort of toy related was Hasbro's Marvel Legends Poll (see http://www.hasbro.com/marvel/en_US/discover/poll.cfm) .. I can't vote from foreign soil ! Waah! .. Oh, no there's another whine left ... SDCC! I understand that this has it's own exclusives .. and I'm definitely too poor to go that far for stuff .. but Multi-coloured Hal Jordans . . and Gleek! I'll have to sell one of my kids for those... Hmmm, maybe not, as proudly showing people a wallet pic of Gleek, would freak 'em out a little .. ? I don't know if Hasbro & Mattel have a reason for not even attempting to break the U.K. market, but I'd love someone to ask them if they've tried? Heck, both companies can employ me to tour the U.K. hassling shops if they like.. I'll leave my 'real' job .. it's rubbish! I'll guarantee results .. um sort of? And maybe .. a U.K. or European exclusive?! We had that once, in the Mattel batman range .. good times .. we felt special. You can argue that the comic stores over here will sell some of the stuff I've mentioned, and I know the previews catalogue are starting to stock DCUC, but buying them from ebay is actually cheaper?! There's an amazing mark up somewhere in the journey from the U.S. to U.K. comic stores.. They can charge what the hell they want! Marvel Universe Single carded figures cost $7.99 over in the States . . Forbidden Planet has them over here for £8.99, which is $15.24.. And the same with ... OH MY GOD! I was just doing research for the price difference between the U.K. and U.S. for the DC infinite heroes range . . . Toys R Us in the states has the single carded figures for $4.98 which is £2.94 in Pounds . . I'm sure that these are £9.99 in store in my local F.P. ?! How can they sleep at night? .. Although I bet that bed stuffed with cash is quite comfy... To give 'em credit though . . they've made an effort at reduction on their website .. £6.29 .. oh, but with £2 P&P ... so that's £8.29 , which translates to $14.05.. a vast difference to $4.98. They've no competition though so people have to shop there? Crikey!, Sorry .. it's been a terrible whine, but I just wanted to get it off my chest. And I'm sorry it's patchy .. I have a terrible cold and I've been typing bits of this every now and again... so if there's bits you don't understand or massive contradictions, let me know. I'd like to see if other people from the British Isles feel the same way, or if it's just MY luck (well, falling foul to MOTUMATT* preying on collectors is definitely my luck). I (and actually a couple of friends, who've only just got a mention!) would just love to see some good toys being pushed at us at some point. And yeah, you could suggest that I give them up.. but I love 'em & have already received my orders from card backs ... 'COLLECT THEM ALL'! ... one even said 'COLLECT ALL TOYS' once?! It didn't even specify! If you know which toy range that was, let me know, I'd love to see that again. If you've made it this far, I salute you! Thanks for reading! P.S. If you know a site I can go to or a reputable eBay seller I can use to buy the DCUC series 8 from, let me know!

  12. Hi, I've been checking all the coverage I could find from the SDCC, but haven't heard anything of Mattel's plans for the Avatar:The Last Airbender figures . . I'm sure I read somewhere that they were going to let us know what was happening this summer . . ? Has anyone heard anything ? I'd love there to be some plans to complete the collection, mainly the females in the series, but Iroh and a Zuko with a decent hairdo wouldn't go amiss ?! I'm hoping that Mattel's new online collector's site may bear fruit at some point ? oh, and I think I'd weep with joy at a cabbage seller playset . . !
  13. Hi, is there a full list of the series with Flash in ? Is it the same series as the one with Hawkman, Mr Miracle, Spooky mullet Superman & Kalibak ? After seeing the pics of the prototype things, I've been looking for more info, but haven't found anything useful yet . .
  14. Thanks for the answers . . I'm just off to open it now . . I can't resist any longer! I'll try to have a more challenging question next time !?
  15. Here we go . . It was in the middle of loads of assorted spidey figures in a cheap supermarket . . We've been getting a strange bunch of figures turning up in shops over here in England, they look like the manufacturer has just chucked whatever they had left in packages and pushed them at retailers . . My son picked up a Legends:Showdown figure last week that was all wrong .. He had a Punisher body with a Captain America head . . and was packaged in a Black Spiderman box . . it sort of worked though . . he loves it ?! Last time I looked, there was someone selling a similar one on eBay . . yep, just checked, it's there . . Item 370060968833, with this comment in the description 'this is a must for any series collector as who knows what this will be woth in a few years time' ? . . I doubt if anyone will be that giddy about it in a few years ?! Anyway, back to the point . . ! Is the original of this weird figure I have from the spiderman classics range at some point ? I'm trying to find a link to a site that may have a list all of 'em, but I aint having much luck . . Thanks for all your help with this !
  16. Hello, 1st post . .. er, so be kind ?! Has anyone seen this figure before ? It's in a Spiderman 2 movie box, and definitely nothing to do with the film . . er, unless I blinked and it went all cartoony for a second ? It's like a robot version of him (robot spine, see through bits etc.), I've had a quick scour around the net, but can't find any robot related spidey business apart from that god-awful robo-sapien spidey .. ! Is it from a comic book story? What collection/Range/Series is it REALLY from? Any help would be appreciated . . thanks !
