  1. my holy grail a few years back was a complete firefly... i found one minus walkie-talkie for $1 at an antique mall. i about crapped myself. i also found a near-mint swampskier for zartan for $2 or $2.50 at the same antique mall.
  2. i'm only 23, i make basically negative money when you take college loans into account, and i have my die hard RAH collection, and i only buy choice new stuff... mainly because i'm picky and have little income to spend on my hobbies these days. though, my other hobbies/obsessions are too numerous to count, from snes games to legos to tv shows on dvd....
  3. so glad people remember exosquad... the character development in that show would have lent itself well to joe... not all of the villains were truly "evil" like shiva(akin to destro, zartan, storm shadow) but you also had your truly megalomaniacal villains like phaeton and typhonus (like CC and mindbender)... and the good guys... marsala and his girl *name escaping me at the moment* were very much like flint/lady jaye or snake eyes/scarlett. even when i was little, this show reeked of possibilities for joe goodness.
  4. back to something that was touched on earlier: good american cartoons that were "mature" yet still marketed to kids? prime example: EXOSQUAD. anyone remember this show? it was a total space opera with politics, a reasonable amount of violence, character interaction/growth, and wait for it..... MORTALITY. when a character died, it was a big deal, and there was meaning behind it. i've always wanted a joe show that could have rivaled exosquad.... but i fear it will never happen in the climate we're in.
  5. i love the x-men arcade game. i used to play that at pizza hut all the time.
  6. i'm glad i own the SB cobra commander just for his "maskless" head. i used it in a custom of the black/silver battle corps commander, with a black sculpey hood a couple years ago. and actually, i kind of like the blackstar mold. it's got a lot of nice detail to it. speaking of SB, the green/silver duke wasn't too bad either. didn't feel like a duke, but it was still a neat figure.
  7. i just hope that dr. mindbender isn't the only one to bite the dust. honestly, i kind of hope alexander, and wraith bite it. they have so much wasted potential... wasted to the point that i don't enjoy seeing them in panels.
  8. well this looks a little interesting. i'm just glad it appears that the commander is going to finally plug dr. mindbender once and for all. *does a happy dance*
  9. let's not forget the viper pilot. *shudder*
  10. the axem rangers were sexy.
  11. probably a remake of titanic. and i'd be soooooo excited about that. or even a braveheart remake someday.
  12. god this makes me really grateful that my generation had tiny toons and animaniacs. yeeesh.
  13. this thread is making me want to have an all-male group hug.
  14. wait till i get to my graphic design class tomorrow, if i have time i'll whip one up. @firedevil@
  15. for one i'm glad i didn't just imagine that thread, but now i'm hoping i didn't take a joke seriously, lol...
  16. it wouldn't take much, they all had the same basic uniform back then...
  17. whoops, my bad. i remember that being discussed here.... i just assumed it was you @hmmm@
  18. my interrogator figure. i never had a cobra commander figure, and at that time in my life i was mixing toylines, so interrogator was given an old fabric batman cape, and was my official emperor of evil, that ruled from my customized little people castle.
  19. i'd be fine with a troop builder pack.... but the comment someone (i believe draven) made a month or two ago really scares me with this set... "gold will be this year's crimson" i think i have the prediction right... i'd be scared to have a gold troop builder pack. python patrol had some gold, but as accents. what if you took all the figures that were red/crimson last year and replaced the red/crimson with gold... eek.
  20. i'm not sure, if they have flak-viper, i feel there's a good chance they have heatviper v2 as well, and fragviper isn't that old, really. we haven't heard much about the decimator or worms molds though, unless i've missed something.
  21. i hate cobra commander's return to his uniform from the first issues after "reinstated" ended. i hate the shoulderpads so much. i wish they'd have kept him in his uniform from the issues after "malfunction" with bazooka in the viper house. i loved the big collar, and the huge eyeholes in the hood. now he's back to his generic officer's outfit with hardly any detail on it.
  22. sort of a side note, but if they did this as a hierarchy set, what about this idea? (thrown out here for the fun of it) some of these aren't really "imperial" so much as rethinks. cobra commander: worms or decimator torso repainted blue, comic pack head sans cruddy insignia, and some combat-like legs destro: v3 head, could also possibly be a decimator or worms torso painted black with red jacket collar, cg commander arms, and some combat-like legs baroness: maybe a re-thought body, like the cover girl torso painted black with a white shirt underneath, and (?) tunnel rat legs painted all black... kind of "night on the town" baroness? mindbender: *i honestly wouldn't pick him, but hasbro seems to want him to stay around* v1 head, on a technoviper body in new colors, as a techy mindbender. as for two soldiers, maybe some recolored heatviper v2's, or repainted frag vipers. the frag vipers have those sash-things on them, that could look imperial.
