  1. These would fit in great with those "Batman Forever" and "Batman & Robin" figures that I never bought because they looked terrible (even back in the day when action figures weren't all that great!). Maybe Mattel is just trying to make the Hasbro's Avengers figures look like a great value.
  2. Great custom! I think I like the head for Dugan more than for Rogers.
  3. A good haul indeed. The Thor and Cap America toys are also starting to get clearanced around here. Tempting, but I'm still hoping to someday see the 6 inch Thor and Cap movie figures. Have these figures even been released yet? Are you talking about the Walmart exclusive ones? http://marvelousnews.com/database/index.php?itemid=1821 http://marvelousnews.com/database/index.php?itemid=1820 Most of the Walmarts around here have already put those on clearance. Not much left except a bunch of Nick Furies.
  4. Just picked up Prime Soundwave at Wallyworld today. It's pretty cool even though there's nothing about it that screams "Soundwave" to me. But it looks nice with my seekers.
  5. YouTube toy reviewer Optibotimus had the same issue... That sucks for such an expensive toy... I can live with the gimpy leg, but the QC problems with Lance is pretty extreme. Sloppy paint and a gash on the shoulder pad. At $15, it makes those $10 Avenger figures look like a bargain.
  6. Sweet. Got mine today. Overall I like it but one of the hind legs is kind of jacked. Looks like the spring is messed up. Oh well. It's going to mostly stay in "arm" mode anyway as soon as the other lions come in.
  7. Late clearance figures have helped me pick up quite a few Captain America figures. -Hydra "Dark Threat" and Ultimate Cap (from the deluxe set that had US Agent's shield) went on clearance at Walmart $9 each -Bucky Cap, US Agent and one of the Hydra troops I got on sale at Amazon for an average of $3 a figure -The other 2 Hydra troops, Winter Soldier and the regular Cap were $4 -Captain Britain was a gift -Avengers Cap was the only one that I bought at full price. 11 figures for around $55 is pretty good nowadays! I'm still looking for WWII Ultimate Cap, Red Skull and Crossbones.
  8. Found some Avengers figures at my local Toys R Us. I picked up Captain America and Iron Man Mk. VII. No mid-torso, waist, wrist or ankle articulation. But the sculpts look pretty good! Paint is a little sloppy on Iron Man. The accessories are pretty much worthless.
  9. That's strange. Mine is coming USPS and is expected to get here the day after tomorrow. I'll believe it when I see it...
  10. MS Juggernaut for sure. I hadn't considered Colossus but I'm also considering adding MS Hulk to my Avengers shelf.
  11. Cool. I was wondering about that. I noticed on my invoice it still has the $15 subscription charge on it. Hopefully they will fix that when they actually charge my card for the Red Lion.
  12. I wish that the Battle Droids were folded up in the MTT, but I can see that as far as play-value goes the standing droids were probably a better choice. Generally speaking I am not a prequel fan, but there are a number of toys that are appealing. Namely the new Naboo Starfighter, Ashoka and even Jar Jar Binks! The Imperial Guards look good (normally I don't go for cloth on my figures, but this reminds me of my original figures too much)as well as Nien Numb, all of Jabba's goons, Bespin Leia, and that Sandtrooper (is that a folding stock on his blaster???). Hope to see more on the Hoth Luke soon. Tarkin is a slight disappointment. I don't mind that his uniform is green as opposed to grey (matching previous figures) but the cloth skirt is not working for me. As a kid it would not have bothered me that he cannot sit down because I probably wouldn't have played with an old man figure that much (just ask my near-mint condition Obi-Wan from the early '80s). The collector in me, who will just put the figure on a shelf, thinks that the cloth skirt looks cheap and out of place. It detracts from a well sculpted figure. I will probably pass on the SDCC stuff but the Jar Jar in carbonite is hilarious!
  13. YIKES! Hopefully Hasbro will un-cancel future shipments of FE figures.
  14. It's a well done figure. I'm partial to the blue tights/red underwear costume but you've made a darn good custom. The only thing I can see is that I think the logo on the cape is black on red.
  15. Very nice. Always good to see people using up those Baroness figures!
  16. Just cracked open a new Steel Brigade figure and noticed it's different from my first one. Different arms and legs. Now with holster and scabbard but unless they flew out of the package when I opened it, no pistol or knife. Also the bayonet on the rifle is not painted.
  17. The local Walmart must have been clearing out the storeroom because I found a Zam Wesell that wasn't there yesterday. I don't usually buy prequel toys... but this one looked pretty good.
  18. Picked up the Echo Base Trooper, Bom Vimdin, Bespin Han Solo and the Search for Luke Skywalker battle pack. All of them worth while buys. Bespin Han Solo is especially awesome.

    Guri

I was home sick today but couldn't sit still so I decided to make something with a spare ROC Baroness that I've had around the house. So I made Guri from Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire. It's pretty much a straight-up repaint with some things sanded down and a cloth skirt glued on.
  20. I agree with Two-Face's hair. Why would it remain frizzy and unkempt long after the accident? And the hairless option is pretty brutal. This is definitely the way to go. Looking forward to the rest!
  21. I'm not having any problems with the website. I got my last order in a little over a week via USPS. Always got great service and packaging from them.
  22. Has Doppleganger Spider-Man showed up in a cartoon? Dum Dum Dugan?
  23. Just did the Iowa Comic Book Convention (I-CON). Didn't have anything to promote so I went in costume, which I will probably use for Halloween. Here I am with Spidey.
