  1. Yes I know of the sac show, 1 is I have 9 pallets of joe stuff that I want to sell, 2) Sac is 8 hours away from Los Angeles. I did go to the toy store parking lot show up north and did well however everyone said teh sac show is huge. I have been waiting for it but no news is forth coming. I am thinking I will promote a few Diecast / Joe shows in so cal this year. Have fun, Fred
  2. Need for a So Cal – Inland Empire show? After searching for the last few months I have yet to find any kind of GI Joe shows on the west Coast let alone Southern California. My question is there a need for a show? It would be in the Inland Empire most likely in Riverside. Maybe 2-3 a year? Would you attend? Would you be interested in a dealer table? Have Fun, Fred www.1StopDiecast.com
  3. I have a serious question and since you guys are in the know here it goes. For about the last 8-10 years I have been putting away 3 ¾ Joes and their weapons. I bought collections at toy shows when were doing them, off ebay and so on to fill in my collection and because I know, being in the diecast business, what items usually do after their 25th Anniversary. I have most likely between 8-9,000 loose figures, about 4,500 of them are complete with their weapons in clam shells graded (by me not AFA) and ready to sell, the rest are in 5 55 gallon trash cans and there are 3 55 gallon trash cans full of weapons and accessories. I kept only the clean and near mint or above figures and thru time put the others on ebay and sold them in lots of 25 so there is no junk in what is left. I also have at least 25 cases of every release of product from 2000 onward. Some I have much much more (I have 100 cases of wave 6), this included all the 2 packs, single (CVS cases), 3 packs, 6 packs, and vehicle assortments. There are about 9 pallets of stuff. I was talking with my wife and we were thinking of throwing a bunch of stuff in the Suburban and running down to the convention but I have no idea how to price the stuff. So the question is: How do you price the items to sell? Is there a good guide? On line site? I have sealed cases of stuff from 84 – 88 and then from 2000 on as well. I am keeping my complete loose collection and my complete packaged collection and my prototypes. This is just the investment stuff that I am thinking of selling. Or maybe it is not worth getting the forklift out and taking them down from the pallet racks? I am not all that interested in auctions so I am trying to set prices and let them go. Any help would be nice. ALSO NOTHING IS FOR SALE YET. I HAVE TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO PRICE IT AND THEN DECIDE TO SELL IT. BEFORE ANYTHING WILL BE FOR SALE. If I grab a few boxes and fly to he convention, what years are people looking for? Thanks in advance, Fred
  4. I know tere are a few of us hard core prototype collectors out there. My question is, is any one finding of getting any first shots or prototypes? I am not sure how the market is and you may not want to post in public so send me a Pm or email kidmold@aol.com Just trying to see what is happing in the prototype world as I have been out of it a bit and the 25th stuff looks killer!
  5. can you post pics of his cloves? I wanna see if they're just painted Gung Ho hands.. that's what they look like in the first pics... but that doesn't make him a true variant.. he's just a production sample, a variant would be something every Joe would be able to get from a store... Joe - I agree the one I have is a production sample or FEP I guess the list I am trying to put together is a list of every variation made not really a VARIANT list. The differance I guess would be that I am a completest and collector of prototypes first and then collect the production variants a s a way to cure my fix. But the true fact is I have a sickness and its called yo joe. I simply must have one of everythinng made.
  6. I have a Flint with Gloves, although it came from overseas and does not have a date stamp, so at least the samples were correct.
  7. Has anyone figured out how to tell which figures have the holes in their backs for the back packs without opening them? 8. Justin, Thank You! I only collect the true 3 3/4 stuff so I guess I won't need this one. Have FUn, Fred
  9. Hey gang, This is supposed to be a prototype of a GI Joe item released around 1994 - 95? Is it? or is it a star wars item? Any help will be great> have Fun, Fred

  11. Just like the VvV figs did? Just like the comic packs did? Just like DTC stuff did? My point is that you're not going to see a massive influx of new collectors to the hobby. There might be some, but not much. New fans who are attracted to these Joes will largely be what I call retail collectors. They are guys who buy toys at retail: regardless of what the line is. They like to buy stuff that's out and once it's gone from retail, they move on to the next retail toy wave. I disagree 100%. Having been thru it a few times before, there are some factors that make the 25th anniversary extreamly different than anything before it. First Hasbro will have a marketing budget for the 25th ann and there will be media coverage at some point on the line, that is just a given for something as iconic as GI Joe. Second and this is the important part of the puzzle, is that the average kid was between 5-8 that played with Joes when they hit in the early 80's. That child is now in his early 30's. Has finished school, may have his first child, and is at a point in his life when he will have a small amount of expendable income for the first time. 25th Anniversary product either thru advertising, Media coverage, or product placement at the store level will draw this key group in any collectible, into the market, and much like any other collector based item, the fact that there will not be a glutten of new product the new collector will start to search out other ways to fill the urge that they feel as they get excited about their new hobby. It is a timing issue as much as a media issue. The only fact that could hurt this process is the fact that Hasbro is a TOY company and has little or no savy to cultivate a collector base. Have Fun, Fred
  12. ======= 25th will bring an entire group of collectors back to the GI Joe line! it will be the start of an entire collectors group and prices for vintage figures will steadly rise as demand out paces supply. Remember that there 5 figures for 2-3 months and then 5 more (Yes I know about the 5 packs, but really there are 3 purchases every 2-3 months) that is not enough to keep a Newbie interested so they will start to go back and get the figures from their past and then some will become completest. The fact that Diecast is at a 15 year low means more collectors looking for something to collect. Now if Hasbro has short produced the figues by being in safe mode then the figures will become a ebay dealers dream and then the race is on. Go back and look at Hot Wheels in 1995 and hold on. Have Fun, Fred

    His First Joe

Everyone of my friends told me things would change. I will never understand how any man in the world could look into the eyes of his child and not embrace it 100% and take care of his child for the rest of his life. There is no way a small piece of plastic (Don't get me wrong, I have a hundred thousand dollars worth of small pieces of plastic) is more important than my wife and child. IF he is into Joes or interior design I just hope he does it with passion. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR COMMENTS! Have Fun, Fred

  15. I guess I am talking about hardest to find in DEAD MINT condition. I am putting together a complete set of every variation as well in DEAD MINT. I also like to have a small display at my office. I can tell you that I have had a really hard time finding some rather common figures in MINT shape, Seems like I will hav eto buy carded figures and open them. Like a small logo Spirt with the gold band on his left wrist. Have Fun, Fred
