This was taken on my vacation. About 2 minutes later, SE decided to go for a swim off my custom Water Moccasin and into the waterfall. I jumped in after him, thankful I was in my swimming trunks, but I saw him get washed away, never to be seen again. For all I know, he's still down there doing Long range Recon Patrol. ")

I heard it first-hand from Hasbro at SDCC Preview night.
Details here: http://www.joedios.com/
Scroll down to the news section.
WOOT!

I was there, too, tonight. Building my pics page at http://www.joedios.com/dioramas/browseimages.php?c=13
And I got tot talk to one of the figure designers, I'll post more on that later.

Which TRU? I checked 2 of them yesterday here in SD.

The paint is awesome! Expertly applied, too. What color is it?

A REALLY well done Baroness? I could think up a few ideas...

Although I was never a fan of WWF, I LOVED the Sarge's debut in the comic line. His entrance into the PITT was classic Joe!

the annoying part was the mumbling. duke was always and should be loud.
You hit the nail on the head right here. Field commanders need precise, crisp diction and need to be able to PROJECT THEIR VOICE when they need to (think Patton). It's a gift, and not everyone has it. I happen to have it, and it comes in handy.
An actor playing Duke should never mumble. I head him lisp quite a bit, too.
Other than that, I like him in the role.
I think way to much attention is given to his facial hair styling. I didn't even notice it. Also, he can't easily go from goatee to clean-shaven often since movies are shot out of sequence, so it's easier for visual continuity for him to have the same shave throughout the movie, unless its a major plot point (like Anna's hair).

"No reason was given as to why, "
Hopefully because they realized it was lame.

Treadmill Scarlett.
This.

Just saw it with my son and we both LOVED it. I like the new twists, the origins of CC, Baroness, Destro, SE & SS. The action sequences were astounding! I also loved that the good guys didn't always win (Paris, the PITT)! How refreshing! And a villain could be redeemed (Baroness)! That only happened with SS (who was pretending to be a Cobra all along) and Mercer in the comic Joeverse.
And most astounding to me, PEOPLE GOT SHOT and even STABBED! How amazing is that!?! A Neo-Viper even got his head blown off by a grenade!
Plus, unlike Transformers, we got deep back story on
1. Destro
2. Baroness
3. Duke
4. Cobra Commander
5. Snake Eyes
6. Stormshadow
and even a little personality and motivation from Scarlett (all science, linguistics, intelligence, resists emotion) and Ripcord (wants to be a fly-boy, digs Scarlett, clumsy but tenacious).
That's more than most movies can fit in 2 hours and still have crazy action. The opening rescue action sequence was insane. Especially Scarlett with her crossbow. It showed how she wasn't super-human and had to adapt and overcome to beat the armored Neo-Vipers. And Duke rescues his bud before going after the WMD's? Show's heart, something the Duke character could use more of.
I just loved it, and so did my 7 year old son. Glad I didn't read all the negativity before seeing it. Cynicism is SO COOL, isn't it?
I do wish the Cobra gunship toy looked more like the movie version, and I also don't like the whole "vow of silence" thing. No Elite unit would allow that kind of thing, but I imagine they did that because they already had 4 characters in the movie get their faces deformed, they didn't want to push for a 5th and get an R rating.
Quibbles, though. That was a fun movie!
$20 says Ripcord takes on a the new code name "Ace" in the next movie!

See this humorous review: G.I.Joe: Is it awesome?
This is how I picture the fans who liked it acting.
Now why do we have to get insulting? Lighten up.

Thanks! That helped!

Yeah, you make a good point. I bought a LOT of Cobra army builders from the ARAH age and cringe thinking about the expense to replace them with the new style.

Some people like peanut butter.
Some people like chocolate.
Some like both.
Some like neither.
Some are allergic to either one, so some CANNOT enjoy either.
Some CHOOSE not to enjoy either.
And some adamantly stand by their preference for one over the other.
And some are just not that fussy.
Does that help?
After your edit, it's a little more helpful. Adding the parts after "allergic" helps me understand stubbornness, but not the original reasons to prefer one over the other to the exclusion of one.
-
Not really. No.

No flames, please. I'm just curious.
I love ARAH and will continue to buy them and put the figures in my Dioramas (I have several hundred ARAH figs), but I feel many of the 25th figures look more like the comic characters and have a LOT more articulation. More poses, more realistic looking (in general anyway) makes for better Dios, IMHO.
So I have room in my collection for both styles, and I use whichever works best in my dios, but some people decide they'll never buy 25th. I'd like to politely ask why.

That was pretty cool!

I'll try to be there. Miss my Nok buddies!

That's one of the best I've seen. Would you mind posting these in the Photos section of www.JoeDios.com ?

Wow. Real guns. Cover fire. "Bounding overwatch" tactics. Dead Cobras. And SE actually uses his sword, and twists it for good measure. This is not your father's GI Joe cartoon. It's awesome.

Spammers are abusing the resend activation email ability (I don't know why they'd bother), and our host has taken us down while they implement a fix. I don't have an ETA for when we'll be back up.

Can someone PM me the pics?

well maybe we can do a special SDCC Nok meeting. Afterwards maybe Thursday or Friday night.
I think it's be cool if we met up on Sat and walked the floor together. That'd rock.

Dusty indeed. Long shot with my big lens in the desert of Palm Springs at sunset. I went out of my way for this one.
