  1. What a coincidence, I got (classic) Leonardo and Raphael today from Amazon. Having these in person, I can say that they are even more impressive than the pictorial reviews make them seem. I like everything about them; the size, color, the mix between animated and original figure styling. The only thing I think might have been better would be swappable hands instead of articulated fingers.

I hereby pledge my full support to TMNT classics. I'd even go against my better judgement/principles and buy a subscription, if it were necessary. I don't just want Shredder, Splinter, Foot ninja, April and Casey. No sirs, I need Bebop, Rocksteady, Metalhead, Undercover turtles,Panda Khan,Muckman, Scumbug, Chrome Dome, Triceraton, Dimension X rock soldiers, Neutrinos with a flying Cadillac, Beach Turtles, Military Turtles, and most importantly...SPORTS TURTLES!

Let's just go ahead and add Star Trek turtles to that list

  2. Also, I would suggest be willing to ship internationally because that will help boost your sells.

Absolutely! I couldnt agree more! All my big auctions have been bought by international customers, mostly is South America. For the shipping price I always told them they would need to email me for me to let them know.

  3. No problem, good luck! One thing that has always helped me with these is going into it with low expectations, that way I wont be let down and am more often then not surprised by how much I get it. Most of the time, the really serious high dollar bids don't come in till the end of the auction anyway.

  4. Ok, so after years of them just sitting around, and me no longer caring. I'm considering getting rid of my ML Collection. I have tons of them, from Series 1 on, almost all. As well as some of the side-line toys, ie: Spidey, Xmen, etc... All are loose and in good condition.

What kind of price would something like this go at? Any selling suggestions??

I sold mine about 2 years ago to help pay for my wedding. I had most of the ML made to that point, so what I did was take out the more desirable figures and sold them one by one, then I made themed lots for my X-Men, and finally just one big lot for the odds and ends that I didn't think would be worth it to sell on their own. Ive seen people sell them off figure by figure, so there must be some money that way, but it just didn't seem worth the headache.

BTW, I made more then enough for what I needed, so I reinvested in plastic! I see my collection as a savings account I can enjoy. Sure I may not get the same as what I paid, but its a fair trade for the enjoyment of once owning them. Plus it keeps my collection from getting out of control.

  5. I have never in my life ever owned a new car.Ever since I started to drive I only have owned used cars

Me neither, I did buy my motorcycle new, but it was only 8K, so not nearly as much as a car. My dad didn't buy his first and only new car till I was well out of the house and my bothers were on the way out the door too.

Hey wasn't this a TMNT thread?

  6. Yeah I remember my mom telling me a few months back that the only reason she bought us our first ninja turtles was because they were on clearance at the mall. TMNT was still new, and I guess these weird toys weren't selling, so my mom said she get them all for next to nothing on clearance at Sears. Mom sure knew how to stretch a buck when it came to us kids.

Well the one thing they scarifice is stuff they would like

My parents went without stuff for a long time

Oh for sure, I remember my dad driving a car for years that he bought for $500, always said it was the best $500 he ever spent. Ran just fine, looked like crap. I also grew up thinking everybody's dad's worked 7 days a week. We should really have national holidays to celebrate parents, ya know? Something like "Mom's Day".

  8. Optibotimus gets excited too easily...The Big Imperial Walker was much bigger

This will have to be for the adult collector what parent will pay this much fro there kids?

Maybe as a birthday gift or buy it for christmas?

Not all parents..I can see some who only have one or two kids but in a family like mine where I had 4 younger brothers who had different interests how does a parent on a budget justify getting this for only one of the kids while the others get shafted

We grew up on a strict budget, all three of us brothers together in one room till I was in middle school. Luckily we all had the same interests. Even if my parents didn't buy us one, I feel like I would have begged my grandma to get us one (she would spend about $100 on a combined gift for us) So yeah, if you break it up with 3 or 4 kids, should be affordable at Christmas.

I remember wanting some playsets when I was young at the time the Megos were big and we were w few years away from the Star ?Wars 3 3?4 size figures

My father would say sarcastically too me "yeah two of them" whenever I asked

Later it changed as I got older .."get a job and then you can get it"..

I hear ya, maybe my parents were bargain hunters. Like I said, we for sure grew up on the cheap side of things, Im sure Ive spent more on toys now that I am an adult then my parents ever did, but I do remember having a few playsets, like the GB firehouse. By the time we figured out to actually ask for what we wanted, we were into video games! So it was a nintendo, or super nintendo, or sega, whatever.

But yeah $120 is rich for one child, especially if money is tight.

  10. I couldn't see buying this for myself as a collector. It's too big and it's too much money. It looks awesome, don't get me wrong, I would love to own one, and if I saw one for maybe half that price, I would get it, but $120 is just too much for something I probably wouldn't enjoy as much as a kid.

I could totally see getting this present as a kid for me and my brothers to share at Christmas!

  11. Will TMNT Classics be this year's Thundercats Classics? I think so. I'm ready to buy all of the characters they can make, but that's not going to happen.

I'm hoping not, I guess it probably depends on how successful the cartoon is going to be. Who wouldn't love BeeBop and Rocksteady? Shredder? "Fly" Baxter Stockman? All great! Problem is that this isn't really enough mass-appeal to buy the figures beyond the first four turtles. I know people like us, who come to message boards and talk about it, are totally down for buying the extra guys, but I don't think there is enough interest to mass release anyone else. I just guess I'm thinking I wouldn't want playmates to have a huge stock of them and then just get sour on the figures like Bandia did with TC.

Again, I am 100% for buying any and all TMNTC figures they make, realistically I am not expecting much. My inner child is still too sad about TC to get his hopes up.

  12. I havent really gotten action figures from my Walmarts since ML died years ago. Yeah I started picking up Star Wars figures at the beginning of the year, but they havent had any new figures since then. My walmarts shrunk their figure section to just one side of an isle a few months back, I mainly go to TRU for figures now and occasionally Target.

  13. My question is why are they sending out for Script Writers all the time? Why not just have Dan and harold do the script to the new movie like they did the others and the video game? They had no damn problem getting Bill on board then!

Good point. Id be interested to hear more about why they just don't write something themselves. On the flip side, whose to say they haven't written one that got rejected by Murray years earlier. I can understand wanting to let someone else write it, but if Ghostbusters were my baby, I would be super protective over it and not let anyone write a movie. I feel like Bill kind of falls into this camp, of having a deep respect and love for the franchise, and not wanting to see it whore'd out to Hollywood for the easy, quick buck.

  14. no doubt the nick turtles are STILL excellent toys. i just dont get why they did it (other than saving a little $) when they obviously already had everything ready to go.

yeah it's pretty lame that shredder didnt get the same joint respect that the turtles did.

Yeah I hear ya. The figure I am most let down by is Krang. He only has 5 points of articulation! 5! It's the same articulation as the original turtles. Plus mine doesnt really seem to hold his guns well. Krang being removable is probably the biggest draw of the figure.
