  1. wow im really excited about ML's again, hasbro has done pretty good, looking forward towards the red hulk line, ill have to wait till july to see the nemesis line, all the 2 packs look awesome, ill probably pick up the FFF series at SDCC so im excited for that.
  2. i think the comic co exclusive (from what ive heard) will be in the price range of 130-160, i will most likly get it there though, just to have the complete line early
  3. i know its been said a million times(maybe in other post??), that the hulk movie figs look like absolute crap, but does hasbro really know what there doing? we know there supposed to be proportioned with the 3 3/4, cause hulks bigger(Duh!!), but who is this line for? the kids (i would say obviously), i know why there smaller (oil prices are shooting up), but all i see these toys really being after lets say 3 weeks is peg holders, a new SM3 line. so why would hasbro bother? i wouldn't care if they release a hulk movie fig(or a small line, maybe only 2 figs?) (one in proportion to the 6 inch scale) later, hell i wouldn't even care if it was just a movie repaint of the face-off hulk. Im not bashing all Hasbro's Hulks, cause im probably going to putdown some heavy money for the SDCC08 Hulk legends entire series thing, im just bashing the movie figs. what im asking everyone is, -Does hasbro know this figs look terrible and have the possibility of being a SM3 repeat? -If they do then why make them? -How many of you are actually going to buy any of these? -Will these be a SM3 repeat? see these for reference/desirability: *copied from spidermanskrull at original post
  4. the two packs look cool, besides the FF one, i think there both repaints(thing is from the ronan series, while the Mr.F is just the body of the series 5 version with the FF box set head), and the hulk figs just look like crap
  5. hope your father will be okay JayC, thanks for the clarification
  6. i think for a while there supposed to be repaints, but towards the end of the year they said that we would see new sculpts. try not to get this one^^^^ it has a terrible sculpt, but its articulation it worse, his head cant look up, its a ball-socket joint so he can even look straight without his head falling off, i think this fig was made only to display it like in the movie. like this:
  7. face off the absolute best, hulk classics super strength hulk worst
  8. Were they sculpted by the same person, within the same amount of time? Made at the same factory? Doubtful, because of the clear differences in the outcome......and the circumstances ( made by tow difference companies). I'd bet that Emma can be repainted ( carefully) to be a quite attractive looking figure--and I'm will to bet its been done already. I know it can be done with other bland looking figures because I have seen it done firsthand by skilled hobbyists myself--but I'm going to try with my own Emma figure ( and Lady Deathstrike as well.) to see for myself. ive never seen anyone even try to work with her current sculpt, all the ones ive seen just just a different head and hair. their both by different sculptors, but Dave Cortez(emma's sculptor) has maid such better pieces, such as cable, the BAF Sentinel, black panther, ML 8 cap amer. so why does he just all of a sudden give us a crappy sculpt, plus i doubt that just because hasbro bought the characters license, they moved their total factory operations to a completely different factory.
  9. it has every thing to do with the sculpting, the emma frost face sculpt is comparably bad when you put her to next to lets say..... the phoenix fig, she has pretty good sculpting with minimal paint apps, then you look at the frost fig and you can see that the sculpted face looks nothing like the character, while the phoenix one does. its not paint apps that determine how they look, ya it makes them look better, but the phoenix fig was created with the same factory process and she looks dead on with the comic character, paint apps isnt what made the EF fig bad its just the sculpting, her head is too small and her hair it too big.
  10. i know there are other forums for 2-packs and singles but this one is for ML box sets i want: Wrecking Crew Astonishing X-men(cyc, frost, colossus, wolvie, kitty, beast) Classic Avengers Thunderbolts New Avengers Ultimate Marvel (cap, iron man, spidey, hulk) AOA X-Men Marvel Zombies (i would have to have more than one box, too many cool figs) Captain Universe/Uni-Power (CU spidey, CU hulk, CU silver surfer, CU daredevil, CU X-23) my fav so far would be a Astonishing X-men set (with new emma frost) & Captain Universe set what else would be cool?
  11. ya i mean theres actually only a couple bad female face sculpts, they only ones that come to mind are emma frost and Electra
  12. ya im not asking for skanky figures, im just asking them to make them look remotely like the comic character, for emma it seems they didnt even try.
  13. its probably because they don't really need a good face sculpt, they just need the characters name to sell it, if they were to make a Lilandra fig nobody would care what the faced looked like, collectors would just buy it because its Lillandra, thats what happened with Emma Frost in my opinion, everyone just wanted her so bad that hasbro rushed her just to appease the collectors and to help ease the hasbro-toybiz transition(i just think since then they've been kissing the fanboys ass with the lesser known characters while still not giving us decent sculpts for them, just to keep us at ease), but this obviously isn't apparent with all the female sculpts, sometimes its not the face sculpts that are bad but the bodies, another problem they've had it the consistent reuse of only 2 different female body sculpts fro all their figs. most aren't even that bad, some of the better ones are Warbird, Phoenix, Mystique, Lady Deathstrike, Psylocke, Spider-Woman, and She-Hulk. but i think what you asking is why are the toys not as hot or sexy as they appearing the comic, and i think its because they don't want them to be"offense" towards women or children, for example i don't remember Lady Deathstrike having a shirt on under her vest thing in some of the comics, but they put a shirt on her. I see your point, but I don't think they necessarily have to cross the line from attractive female sculpt (or should i say at least coming closer to comic book facial art) to skanky. For the most part the faces look androgenous, not particularly feminine. It seems like sloppy work, when alot of detail obviously goes into male sculpts ya but their no where close to having an attractive sculpt, going back to the emma frost sculpt, its just plain bad, while it the comic shes as hot as hell, i just find it hard for hasbro to accidentally screw up such a hot chick, she should have looked something like this: i mean common look at the figs face then look at the pix on her box, how hard is it to screw that up?
  14. ya plus the series 7 one came with a badass motorcycle, and its just a way better sculpt.
  15. its probably because they don't really need a good face sculpt, they just need the characters name to sell it, if they were to make a Lilandra fig nobody would care what the faced looked like, collectors would just buy it because its Lillandra, thats what happened with Emma Frost in my opinion, everyone just wanted her so bad that hasbro rushed her just to appease the collectors and to help ease the hasbro-toybiz transition(i just think they've been kissing the fanboys ass with the lesser known characters while still not giving us decent sculpts for them, just to keep us at ease), but this obviously isn't apparent with all the female sculpts, sometimes its not the face sculpts that are bad but the bodies, another problem they've had it the consistent reuse of only 2 different female body sculpts fro all their figs. most aren't even that bad, some of the better ones are Warbird, Phoenix, Mystique, Lady Deathstrike, Psylocke, Spider-Woman,Shadow Cat, Marvel Girl, and She-Hulk. but i think what you asking is why are the toys not as hot or sexy as they appearing the comic, and i think its because they don't want them to be"offense" towards women or children, for example i don't remember Lady Deathstrike having a shirt on under her vest thing in some of the comics, but they put a shirt on her.
  16. i know its not a 2 pack but, i want a big box set with a good apocalypse and his 4 horsemen. Variant box set would have a Angel horsemen in it.
  17. actually now with the running change they replaced a couple others figs with iron monger in the boxes, so theres like 3 in a box now, but its the red eyed ones that are harder to get rather new blue eyed ones
  18. i just want to know where to find the Prometheum Armor on the left end below check out the article here. interesting how there mostly toybiz figs, but then again besides the iron man movie hasbro has only given us one iron man, i thought the movie mark 3 toy should have been on there. just a questionaire for fun: 1) Whats you favorite Iron Man toy? mines probably a tie between the movie silver centurion, and the galactus series war machine 2)Which one do you want to see most? i want (big dream) BAF Autobot Iron Man, which he used to fight the decepticons with in the transformers marvel crossover. or the TinMan armor.
  19. it has been addressed, you can talk about/read more about it here
  20. than would be cool but instead of his cowl off i would want a powerless cyclops, with a gun
  21. i want an ultimate ironman set, its would be the core fig in his jumpsuit thing, then you can snap on and place him in different armors, but the snap on would have to be good and not bulky and cheap, plus it would have to enclose his whole body.
  22. how has no one said this yet: Modern Deadpool and Modern Cable(variants can be a weapon x deadpool, and an X-Man variant for cable)
  23. i think it will be funny how everyone freaks out about this opinion, the guy it totally assuming, but forewarning, even though it is an opinion, its not that crazy of news, hasbro really doesnt seem to care about the ML line,it seems like hasbro bought the characters rights just to have the movie lines which they're hoping will sell more. maybe their slowly phasing out the ML line(god i hope nope), but if you look the quality and service hasbro provide with us for the ML lines have been going down considerably(how many more repainted sculpts can they give us?), while the quality and service within the movie line are going up, just look at the new iron man toys, they look great, but no recent ML has looked as good as the iron man movie toys. lets just hope they can redeem themselves with the hulk legends. but anyways this isnt any where close to being "official confirmation" about any ML line, so people shouldnt freak out, well unless they announce the cancellation at NYCC (which i would doubt, it might not be a big enough platform, they could hold off until July at SDCC, but the odds of them canceling ML's are in the millions, its just not smart business) but i know they wont.
  24. Lemonhead, some iron man toy size up for ya: the (Hulkbuster and Thorbuster) are pretty much it perfect synch with the Modular Armor/Face-off Ironman because the Modular Armor has to fit under the HulkBuster and ThorBuster armor, so really the HulkBuster and ThorBuster armors are just attachments over the Modular armor, so it has to be smaller than those ones. for the ML series 1 and the repaints of it (silver centurion & war machine), they're the ones out of proportional there just to big, and the arms hang down kinda ape like, Modern Armor and Ultimate armor are not perfect but not to far off, the movie toys are in the same boat, there a tiny bit smaller but still obviously 6 inch scale, plus we cant judge how big the guy inside would be because we dont know the density or thickness of the armor. now if you compare the 6 inch scale movie suit to say a 5 inch scale SM3 movie spiderman, the suit would be too big for him. the only movie toy that really out of proportion is the Iron Monger (hes too small), cause from the previews we can see that (lets say a 6 foot tall man) an averaged sized man is supposed to fit in the entire chest area with about a foot worth of his arms and legs into the appendages of the suit (i.e. his hands would be in the shoulders and his feet would be in the balls of the legs). the ones that are closest in scale and proportion towards each other are:the modular/face off Iron Man, Modern Iron Man (hes a bit too tall), Hulkbuster & Thorbuster(as i said before the modular armor would fit under perfectly as in the comic books), and the movie line isnt far off for being in proportion to the Modular armor (its almost perfect there just not as big in the hands, and biceps), the really off and odd ones are the ones from Toybiz Series 1, Silver centurion from series 7, the War machine from the Galactus series, and the one from the mojo series. there just a bit to bulky in the chest and the arms are to long and wide, they are actually a bit bigger than the others, they even look kinda simian like with the big arms, but if they were a bit smaller almost all the ironman figs would be close to a consistent proportion.
