  1. so far, i'd have to say 35.6 is my favorite with 32.5 being a distant second. third being the unnecessary 21.b. i also wished for more wordage ala issues 32 AND 33. HOPEFULLY IN THE FUTURE WE CAN SEE A PALE PEONY cameo + in the rumored hard master vs snake eyes two pack like he did for adam in 32.5. anywho, i think this is a great idea and i look extremely forward to the next nine. oh, and the next four of devil's due conclusion to the comic series.
  2. sitting here, rereading world war 3 and got myself thinking about the whole ghost bear is kwinn the eskimo's son. that's a pretty big interesting story. but with hasbro pulling the plug on the 300+ issue run, leaving only four issues left, i doubt d.d. will have the time afforded to deal with the story subplot properly BUT with these hama tales that take place in the past, perhaps we can see ghost bear's origins as a young teanager nuch like we saw adam in 32.5 who originally appeared in d.d.'s storm shadow 1 ala a tad older and scruffier. flashbacks to childhood, his upbringing after his father's death in issue 19... just a thought. but i still want to see a pale peony origin story and some devil's due fill-in issues. want, want, want--that's me for which i apologize but can promise the behavior will most likely not cease-completely. it was always the tangents and sub-plots that interested me the most about this retired epic back in the day. speaking of which: issue 152.5 vol.1 would be just as appreciated as any listed above wishlist. then there's that bombstrike/stall storyline... sei ten and t'jbang.... the red shadows r3eturning in something resembling their toy version a bit more... oh, and-
  3. today is comic delivery day and part eight of ww 3 should be awaiting my arrival behind board 83. i can't wait. that's what makes "this" joe continuity rock. 26 years is a lot of history to scrap for yet another "new" continuity. it works for transformers but not for joe. there's no story to tell in a reboot that can't be told in the classic continuity. after ww3 it appears much of the slate will be wiped clean. what easier time for a new company to pick up the baton and run with it? ultimate spidey woked as a reboot because the original continuity was offered as an option, as well. i see joe being more of a spidey thing. idw with advertising could take the next joe "arc" following d.d.'s 36 to new heights especially if working in conjunction with hama's toy comic packs. off to the city to pick up the swag!!! great arc by the way for those not reading it. one of the best in decades.
  4. one last thing before mum tucks me in: any word on if four, five, and six take place in regular continuity? i've heard they do but the storm shadow/firefly issue baffles me. i thought maybe these new issues would have an advertisement for the next crop with a bit more of an explanation. the artist swears they're canon. so until i hear otherwise i'm a happy camper. and with me, sometimes, those ddays are few and far between. thanks for the previews!!!
  5. i'm curious about the comic books themselves. 1)what's so important about 21.b that it was made other than to sell the toys, of course. 2)i'm loving the fact that we get to see such things as dr. mindbender's origin and tomax and xamot being brought into the crimson guard officially (although dreadnoks: declassified proved extensive enterprises has, indeed, been involved with ol' rag head since the beginning... just not in such a lofty position, i suppose). 3)the fred series (lawyers, pta members, congressmen and women, etc) and springfield have always been the most interesting thing about this series for me next to its serial storytelling and mind-numbing sitcoms and tele-marketing scams... do we see more into the inner workings or are things kept fairly light for the wayward kid that might buy a package? 4)i'm really fighting the urge to just buy these things off the internet... the pain and frustration of limited funds!
  6. hi, gang. i'm totally new to these boards... so i hope i'm posting in the correct forum. if not, please remove me and place me elsewhere... kindly, if possible. on to the point of this topic. i recently learned that devil's due has lost publishing rights with hasbro once the current world war 3 arc ends (ie 36). this book since mark powers and mike o'sullivan created a comic union rarely seen in an editor/writer relationship has garnered praise across the internet and even wizard-and not in the usual wizard hype kinda way. and i haven't even mentioned mike bears pencils or beau--ahh, i can't spell it but he's one heck of a colorist. anywho, i fear a reboot might be waiting oh-so-patiently in the sandy deserts to strike. the following has been cut and pasted from an earlier matt-missive. it goes like this: please, idw or hasbro don't reboot. sure, do some movie tie-ins or new cartoon tie-ins but don't skip out on the real story soap opera that i've been loving these past 26 years. spidey got ultimate but was allowed to continue his real continuity, as well... sorta but we're not talking myphisto here. x-men, batman, superman, even wildcats to some extent have gone in new directions and carried new reboots along with them. i just simply see no reason to reboot a continuing storyline that is being critically praised across the net and even in wizard... of all places. whatever the case, if the current continuity is maintained past this summer, i will be there just like i was through the ninja farce years and joe casey's run--i lovegodland, btw-- but if this is not to be and a reboot is "attempted".... well, my other posts will finish that remark a couple hundred times. you guys are doing a great job showcasing various incarnations of the transformers with the classic u.k. reprints that expound on the original universe quite well. you have an upcoming animated series, and you have simon's new universe trucking along. movie tie-ins, but i would like to see what happened after jhiaxus (sp?) made his generation two appearance but i digress. please, for the love of God, don't destroy this pathetic fanboy's love of wednesdays. oh, and if there's any way possible, please continue with o'sullivan as continuity guru and powers or jerwa on the words. pipe dreams they may be... but i hold out hope. transformers couldn't maintain because they rebooted so many times. it becomes a pain after awhile. let's see these awesome joe current events continue. afterall, like with all great continuing stories, i want to know what happens next. i don't want to start all over again. and i won't. again, feel free to move me to the correct forum. i was told by a friend that there was a vote or petition going out concerning this dire wraith situation and i didn't see it here... so chances are that i am lost. except when it comes to the joe. then i'm all there, baby! thanks for your time. now, does anyone know if the next shipment of joe comic/toy packs (ie duke joining and/or vs. red star) take place in real continuity? like maybe during the seven year break after the original fall of cobra? just curious.) okay, now, thanks again!
