  1. u really need to grow up. #US1# Why? The ability to easily annoy people like you, with the truth, no less, is far too enjoyable. #US1#
  2. Meaningless canned response crafted by HASBRO's legal department and recited by the sock-puppets in customer service. If the line is canceled, they're NOT going to let a nameless, faceless customer know about it on a simple customer-service inquiry. In addition, they'll give the EXACT same answer right up until the precise moment that the news is official, and dissemination of the information is approved for public release by the very same slip-n-fall legal department. #US1# Confession: I think it would be funny if it's true.
  3. Actually, I wish it was true. It'd be kind of funny. #US1#
  4. 2006 East-Coast Comicon JUBILEE. Awesome figure. #US1#
  5. I doubt this is a joke. Corporations don't usually provide negative news to their customers unless and until they absolutely have to, reason being that it can have an adverse financial impact. This type of news could, conceivably, affect Hasbro's customer base. Therefore, I doubt that if it does come from Hasbro, it's a joke. However, that doesn't mean it's not a joke. It all depends on the source. #US1#
  6. Wolverine in a dress. "No-whining allowed" Spiderman ("Oh, woe is me...Poor Aunt May...Why does JJJ hate me? Why doesn't MJ understand?? Waaaaaaahhhh!!!!") REALLY Dead Jean Grey: With an actual coroner's report and special toe-tag confirming that she's DEAD!!! Patriotic Captain America (One who protects his country, kick's ass and takes names...Not the whiny, cringing, left-wing, conflicted, peacenik weasel we've had to endure since 9-11. I'm so glad he's dead...And he was wrong in CIVIL WAR.) President Tony Stark: One of the few real men left in the Marvel Universe...He'd make a great President. Maybe even better than Bush..? Polka-Dot Hulk: The variants could be real rare! Think of the possibilities.
  7. OPEN THEM ALL. They're toys. They're 3-D. They're meant to be held, posed, displayed, and (gasp!) played with. I'll never understand the folks who leave them in the package. #US1#
  8. It came out in the late 90's. It's not in LEGENDS-scale. #US1#
  9. I luv wish lists (he said, sarcastically...) Never happen. Hasbro is moving away from non-movie Legends. The past is dead. #US1#
  10. The more that I think about it, the question I keep asking myself is "Why is this news?" "Marvel Legends" died in December, 2006. The junk that came afterwards has been nothing but a pale imitation. #US1#
  11. Hate to tell you, but even if it is true, Customer Service would not provide confirmation UNTIL the corporation makes an official notification. Until that time, their job is to deliver a canned, boilerplate message about Hasbro and their products. #US1#
  12. Now this would be REALLY funny, if true. A few months back, someone posted very similar information about LEGENDARY HEROES being canceled. Everyone said "Yeah, right! Another silly rumor!" And then...All of a sudden...It's true! No more LCBH! And now, here comes "...Another silly rumor!". Like I said, if true, this would be really funny...And not at all (at least to me) surprising. I mean, c'mon...It's Hasbro! #US1#
  13. First of all, I thought you wanted to avoid these kinds of threads...Yet you're still here, reading and posting. Secondly (and tangentially related to the first point), since you don't want to visit these types of threads, why are you trying to impose rules on those of us who love these threads?? To wit: I despise Hasbro's Legends. I've given reason after reason after reason. However, inevitably, many will disagree. So ultimately, it comes down to taste. Since there's no accounting for taste, trying to enumerate specific grievances in detail is pointless. In other words, this entire thread is about griping, and griping does not need justification. It merely needs a sounding board. Fellow-Hasbro haters unite!!!! You have nothing to lose but mediocre action figures, and lots of $$ to gain!!! Thank you. That is all. ...What?? You're still here??? #US1#
  14. I like it here. It's warm and cozy. Like sipping hot chocolate by a crackling fireplace, complaining about Hasbro's pathetic run on Marvel Legends just feels...right. TOY BIZ MARVEL LEGENDS > HASBRO MARVEL LEGENDS It's indisputable! #US1#
  15. You obviously don't have figures like Astonishing Cyclops, FF Legends Thing, The Brood Queen, FF Legends Doc Doom & Mole man, Danger, Xorn, FA Captain America, Planet Hulk etc in your collection, because they are as detailed a sculpt as as anything Toybiz put out...... "Artistically speaking", there's no difference in the level of detail there. "Obviously"??? Oh, really? What's it like to be dead wrong? HML 3 Astonishing Cyclops: Don't have it 'cause I don't want it. Horrible sculpt + horrible monotone plastic + horrible paint apps. = one sucky figure. FF Legends Thing: Have it. It sucks. Day-glo orange plastic + tiny l'il head + weird, thick, protruding neck = one short, sucky figure that is not as good as the ML Wave 2 Thing (from Toy-Biz, BTW...) FF Legends Doc Doom: Have it. It's over-rated. Decent sculpt + monotone plastics = one mediocre figure. Toy-Biz's ML Wave 2 Doom had superior detailing. Sorry, but it's a FACT. Brood Queen: Hate the character, hated most of the wave, don't want the BAF. But the pieces I have are of the same monotone plastic that Hasbro prefers. Toy-Biz made great BAFs (except for Mojo)...Maybe you noticed?? Danger: Barf. Stupid character. Stupid figure. Poorly made. Xorn: The guy with the teeny-weeny l'il Magneto head?? And the boring, monotone plastics? Oh yeah...That's a GREAT example of Hasbro's "artistry"... FA Captain America: A decent sculpt that intentionally captures the cartoony, Golden-Age look of the 1940's Cap. But the monotone plastics are horrendous, especially the day-glow red boots and gloves. Planet Hulk: Have it. This was a re-tooled Toy-Biz Hulk with a strange looking head, and...Monotone plastics. Every other Toy-Biz Hulk was better than this lame-ass figure that Hasbro hastily cobbled together. Sorry, but again, you're dead wrong...and I'm 100% right. Comparing Toy-Biz and Hasbro from an artistic POV is laughable, because Toy-Biz was FAR superior. That's an indisputable fact. #US1# cyclops- it did a hell of a better job capturing the look of leather than ML8 storm, and it isnt a retooled namor or have a crappy light up head. thing- the neck thing is a quirk of the art, not of the figure, and the height is due to them using marvel's official guides, so they cant take the full blame. doom- has more articulation than ML2, and has a more relaistic sculpt. the paint on the green is flat, but the silver has airbrushing for depth. brood- what is your definition of monotone? have you put it together, or seen some pics online? if not, then shut the hell up. danger- IF YOU DONT LIKE THE CHARACTER, THEN DONT BUY THE EFFIN TOY AND STOP EFFIN COMPLAINING! also, being specific every once in a while instead of "bah, humbug" wouldnt hurt. whats crappy about the figure? xorn- A) it was a toybiz sculpt B ) i already explained what happens whaen you do super detailed figures at those run numbers. cap- im sorry, but were the crappy printing techs of that day making different shades of red? also, lets not forget iron man is the only FA figure toybiz has managed not to f*ck up. p. hulk- again, what is your definition of monotone? one last point to make before retiring for the night: ML1 cap? no scales? im sorry, if an aquaman figure from the friggin' 90s can have sculpted scales, so can cap from "one of the most artistic companies" and the whole lack of comics thing is simple- toybiz got 'em free. hasbro would have to pay extra, driving the price up further. anyone else lack the fact we dont haev to use power tools to get to our toys anymore, and if we do leave 'em in their, its something nice to look at? oh, and plastic is made for oil, which right about now is pretty damn expensive. also, it take more than one gallon of gas to get to california from china. checkmate. i think i got caught up. as for the whole grammar thing, like i said earlier, im lazy. I guess it's really all about standards, then. Some are high, and some are low. #US1#
  16. I'm not saying that mastery of the English language doesn't matter. I'm saying that Lemonhead is using it as part of his argument, as though it has some bearing on the discussion at hand. There are many ways to correct a simple grammar/spelling/punctuation mistake without demeaning the person or tooting your own horn. It looks very much like Lemonhead was trying to tout his points by proving himself 'the smart one' in the debate, and if in fact that was his intent, then I think he should be called on it. Trying to correct someone's language errors is one thing. Using their errors to make yourself look superior is just rude. If, by the way, Lemonhead was NOT attempting to do so, then I whole-heartedly apologize for accusing him. I'm working only off how it appears to me and admit that I could be wrong about his intentions. Sometimes, the arrogant, imperious, smarty-pants guy IS right. Like now. Sorry if that offends your sensibilities. Well...Actually...Not really. #US1#
  17. I see you had trouble with that class, eh? I see your white flag, and I accept your surrender. #US1#
  18. Because you evaded and continue to evade the questions put to you. The indigation continues because you won't rise to the occasion and answer to your own hypocrisy. Of course not! If you insist on overlooking that you stated sculpts were the distinction between the two products, then used paint applications and plastic tones to make your comparisons. It becomes meaningless if you argue it in a confused and hypocritical manner-its a now indistputable fact that you do not understand what a sculpt is and what plastic tones are. Again, once you figure out the difference between those two, then get back to me. ( ...and don't bother trying to denigrate me by correcting my spelling. If you do not have the tools to debate a point, I suggest refraining from debating all together to save face. Heck, just take it on the chin and remmeber it for next time) "This point cannot be argued...At least, not in a meaningful way" I'm such a Prophet. "Debate"? Excuse me, but...Bwah-Hah-hah-hah-hah-hah-hah-hah!!!!!!!!! Your entire argument now centers on the "I know you are, but what am I?" school of thought. Meanwhile, I've explained (clearly and succinctly) everything I post-ed. You're flailing...Should I throw you a life preserver? Naaaah. Watching you go under is fun. I have evaded nothing. If you actually took the time to read my brilliant first response (during which time, I forever put to rest the Hasbro vs. Toy-Biz issue [Hasbro lost, BTW...]), then you'd understand that several of them involved the sculpts. It's called "reading for comprehension". Usually, it's taught in elementary school...Along with spelling, by the way (Sorry...I forgot...We're not supposed to notice...) Toy-Biz's Marvel legends were better than Hasbro's. It's indisputable.

Comparing Toy-Biz and Hasbro from an artistic POV is laughable, because Toy-Biz was FAR superior. That's an indisputable fact. #US1# Ahem. Let's borrow a quote from your own post shall we: And my response to your post with some emphasis: In your rant/response to mine, you addressed the detail on the sculpts with only one figure--and some of them you don't even own! You instead ranted about the pain apps and colours of the plastic, but not the fidelity of detail on the sculpts. You are not even talking about the same things. Do you even KNOW what "detailed sculpts" are? So right away your "definitions" of what is "indisputable" are skewed. How can I be "100% wrong" if what I stated is supported by the very items themselves. Read my quote again. Why don't you drop the idiocy of "right and wrong" here and just deal with what is. Its clear you do not like the stuff------yet you insist on buying some of it. One has to question your position here in that. Who's forcing your hand? Not I. You are making the deliberate choice to buy some of these things BY PREFERANCE, and then you decry them has being inferior after the fact. You can see them clearly in the packaging beforehand, you can hold them up to examine and judge whether or not they are any good....you, by your own admission, still chose to buy them..... ...in spite of your own decree that they suck. You know they call that hypocrisy? What.......again........is "indisputable"??? LOL! You go figure that out and get back to all of us. Why must I suffer the indignity of an uninformed response?? First of all, it's "preference". That's p-r-e-f-e-r-e-n-c-e. Sure...I occasionally buy some HML's. There's two reasons for that: 1. I'm an optimist. I keep hoping that Hasbro will get a clue. They never do. But I keep hoping. Again...I'm an optimist. 2. I'm filling out my collection. I needed a Hercules, a Yellowjacket, a Quicksilver, a Hydra goon, etc...So I bought them. Do I wish they'd been done by Toy-Biz? Yes...'Cuz they'd have been better. So you see...Some of them I buy, some of them I don't. Now...Onto etymology... My definition of indisputable is indistinguishable from Webster's definition (that's the dictionary, BTW...): indisputable One entry found. Pronunciation: \ˌin-di-ˈspyü-tə-bəl, (ˌ)in-ˈdis-pyə-\ Function: adjective Etymology: Late Latin indisputabilis, from Latin in- + disputabilis disputable Date: 1551 : not disputable : unquestionable <indisputable proof> — in·dis·put·able·ness noun — in·dis·put·ably \-blē\ adverb Hopefully, that clarifies the issue. So again, it's an indisputable fact that Toy-Biz's Marvel legends were better than Hasbro's. This point cannot be argued...At least, not in a meaningful way. #US1# Also...By the way...Just because I don't own a figure doesn't mean I'm not qualified to judge it on it's merits. That's simply nonsensical.

  21. Ya' wanna' know what's REALLY funny?? The same people who claim to hate the "I hate HASBRO" threads because they think they're tiresome, tedious, etc, are ALWAYS posting on these exact same threads. In other words, if the thread is so tiresome, why read it? And why post? My 4 cents? (Yes, I get 4 cents worth). Hasbro exceeds TOY-BIZ in one facet only - reliability of the finished product. Hasbro's Legends are sturdier and overall better constructed than TOY-BIZ's were, funny knee joints aside. When I buy a Hasbro Legend (if I buy a Hasbro Legend), I have confidence that it will be well-constructed, without stuck joints, and it won't fall apart in my hands if I bend the joints. That said, artistically speaking, Hasbro can't touch TOY-BIZ, and in my opinion, all such comparisons are laughable. It ain't just the paint-apps. Hasbro's sculpts are simply not as detailed as TOY-BIZ's were, and if they do have more detail, they often lack in size. TOY-BIZ simply paid more attention to the artistic details. I have no idea what Hasbro pays attention to. And BTW...overall sales of "Legends" are down since Hasbro took over. So apparently, there's lots of folks like me who protest with their wallets. #US1# Man, I LOVE the "I Hate hasbro" threads!
