  1. Yep. My understanding is Hot Toys will create 1/6 scale figure based on this statue. I like the asian theme to it and cant wait to see the final product.
  2. Photo of Sean Connery as James Bond
  3. http://www.runboard.com/bmedicom.p316527 Not sure if this is what your after but i saw it on another board

    Wave 2

Wished they'd used the original Drax look? Or even the original look but 'roid'ed up and brain damaged. Oh well...
  6. i remember the Ramones doing a cover of the Spiderman theme. Then there's 'The Touch' done by Mark Wahlberg in Boogie Nights that always cracks me up but thats more a Tranformers related song.
  7. Funny!!! I read that issue to death, def one of my all time favorite reads!! Got it at a convenience store and is very well read!!! I need to ho dig it up again!! Which limited series do u speak of?? There was a 12 issue Squadron Supreme limited series that came out in '86. I know its available in trade since i recall reading about how the author had his ashes mixed in with the ink for its printing. I thought it was really good. I know some of my more hardcore comic friends talk about how its not give more 'due' considering some of the themes it displayed.
  8. Well i'll be signing up for the sub. I dont want to deal with being online to order and the disappointment if something sells out too fast. I think its a reasonable deal. Not so many trips to Wal-Mart, 9 regular figures and essentially 3 CnCs. I know i've got one friend who'll probably join me so i can get two subs. If i can get a few more i could probably make shipping negligible. Hmm...cant stop thinking about those old civil war chess sets by time life. Vote Metron.

    wave 20

Well if 20 is the last wave at retail then its been a good run. Hopefully the subscription service gets support. i could do for a few more figures. Finish the Metal Men, Doom Patrol, and a few more Legion of Superheroes themed characters after the box set. And when that ends i'll let out a deep breath of relief knowing that my shelves are complete and i can rearrange everything one last time just the way i want it.
  10. Good luck, man. Hopefully it leads to bigger and better things. And bigger and better toys
  11. Didnt think about that and how these subscription offers will coincide. I dont collect MOTUC but i'm still collecting DCUC. Guess i better keep a Matty fund to the side.
  12. Thats pretty cool. I may have to get this. I was planning on getting the Toynami Shogun Warriors Go Lion. Might just get the Toynami Dairugger and the Matty Go Lion.
  13. That Suit-Up Gantry edition IM looks awesome. I'm still on the bubble about collecting these. I had planned to get Capt America but figured i'd break and go for the movie Avengers team. That would cost numerous pretty pennies. And i'd have to get a villain to battle. I figure the Iron Monger will be 16" and would be perfect. More pennies. Right now i've just got my Bruce Lee figure (hope to pick it up this weekend). I do like that Babydoll figure as well. Right now i've been dabbling in the 'higher end' 1/6 scale stuff (Have a SS Cobra Officer, Blackhole StormTrooper, my Bruce) and avoiding going gung ho into any of the lines. I dont want to get into the old habit of buying everything like i did with the Ultraman Medicom line. My yearly toy bill was just unreasonable
  14. Well hopefully they'll maintain retail product and use the subscription for the more difficult stuff to market at brick and mortars. Hopefully they consider doing two or three packs vs one figure per month. It would ease my dislike of shipping costs.
  15. Recently got into Ashley Wood's WWR toy line. Really like the design of these robots and their weathered, battle blemished feel. A different look from the sleek, clean japanese robots i've collected. Curious if anyone else collects these? They are pricey. I probably should have stuck to the 1/12 scale for volumes sake but i'm still good with the few 1/6 scale i've bought.

Agree. The WW Hulk is the best Hulk done so far that i've seen (havent spotted the box set yet) but it may not be the 'classic look' youre expecting. Is WWH still available at retail, or did I miss the boat? They were pretty plentiful when the wave was released. WM and TRU in my area seemed to order high numbers. I cant remember if i've seen one lately though. Once i pick up a figure i dont pay them any attention when i flip pass them to see if something i do need is behind it.

  18. To sell my loose items or carded? To make room on the shelves or empty the closets?

  19. Really nice pics. I'm planning on picking up the Casual Wear Bruce Lee. I've been trying to avoid getting into the hero line from them but the Capt America figure looks really nice.
  20. SPACE RAIDERS (1983) Not only was it the same ship model and space footage, but they used the same musical soundtrack. That's Roger Corman for ya. That ship, Nell. What a grotesque, yet, erotic ship that was. At first, being a kid having seen Star Wars, I thought it looked like an Ithorian head (Mos Eisley Cantina Hammerhead alien). Then, from the front view, I noticed it had boobs. Then, from above, it looked like a uterus with ovaries. Then, from the side view, it looked like a scrotum. I didn't know whether to be turned on or grossed out, respectively. In BBtS, Saint-Exmin, Sybil Danning, was every boys wet dream in that outfit. The death of Cowboy, George Peppard, made me mad and angry. The death of one of the Nestor's, who got his arm cut off, made me very sad and upset. Robert Vaughn, who played the character of Gelt, was basically a reprising his character Lee, from THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, and had lines that were nearly identical in both movies. I though Gelt was the coolest character. John Saxon, Sador, was totally over the top (in a good way) as the villain, and he seemed like he enjoyed every minute of it. Such great lines. Brent Spiner, Data from ST:TNG, is rumored to have played one of the Nestors. ICE PIRATES was hilarious. METALSTORM: The Desctuction of Jared-Syn had Richard Moll and Tim Thomerson. Thomerson is one of my favorite `80's B-movie character actors. The movie had cool cyborgs. Does anyone remember STARCRASH (1978, starring Caroline Munro, Christopher Plummer, David Hasselhoff, Marjoe Gortner and Robert Tessier)? I loved Battle Beyond the Stars. Sci-Fi Seven Samurai flick. Agree that Gelt was the coolest. Cowboys death was sad. Recall him playing the harmonica before dying. Havent seen it in ages though and kinda fear i'll be disappointed or lack my childhood enthusiasm for the film. Recently picked up Ice PIrates on dvd and couldnt sit through it. Just wasnt the same. *sigh* I thin i saw Metalstorm in the theatre. That was in 3D wasnt it? I did see Metalstorm in the theatre and it was in 3-D. This was during the time they were trying to get 3-d movies re-started in the theatres. I remember the first 3-d movie was "Comin at you" if my memory is correct. As for Metalstorm, I remember it as a movie that didn't seem to have a beginning or an end to it....and I thought one of the characters reminded me of Trapjaw! Lol! Yeah i remember that Trapjaw character. I really cant remember much else of the movie at all. Remember sand. Funny remembering these oldies. I remember seeing Ghoulies at the same theater.
  21. So know other assortments? Guess no word on some lucky guy/gal getting a 'god pack'
  22. Here's Prime2099 topic on that collection http://forums.toynew...owtopic=2080350
