the quality of the paint looks much sloppier than usual

I have the T-1 and HK. I like them both, but they're nothing special. I think the action features with the firing missiles really hurt them. As do the extremely visible screw holes

I'd be more impressed if you had sculpted more of those tendril-esque portions that are overtaking the green on and then painted rather than just painting them on. where it's over veins, it has depth. As it stands, where it is not it has a bit of sharpy effect going on as a result and thus is extremely disappointing.

saying that you have a mass store means nothing since you've said before that you have retail support for other lines that still aren't out. why not just tell us the name of the store?

yep, those are grunt weapons. also, the Steel CQB is holding a shotgun that I found that was about the right size. I've also got 3 more Steel Spartans, one of which I started customizing into my own unique Spartan.

I have a few buddies up north that already have them so there are some in Canada. In the meantime, I got my Steel Spartan so now I'm all caught up on Series 1

Here's a complete list (currently anyway) of McFarlane's Halo 3 figures including all of the Spartan variants along with a photo for reference. I've combined both lists into a single PDF file which can be printed if you wish. http://toypit.blogspot.com/2008/02/halo-3-...-checklist.html

SHOCKER TOYS!: Why did GWAR back out of the licensing deal?
Avi replied to MrBlisterfists's topic in General Toy Talk
As stated above we are with a new factory now one we can trust. We will probably never know the fate of our shockini tools, GWAR tools or the GWAR products. so you're telling us that you never got production samples on your GWAR merchandise? that strikes me as quite odd and much like the SAF debachle. -
SHOCKER TOYS!: Why did GWAR back out of the licensing deal?

are we ever going to see any prototypes of the figures with the articulation put in them? I may be wrong but I remember that you said something along the lines that they were on the water at one point and had to be recalled due to lead paint issues. if that's the case, where were the production samples? -
http://toypit.blogspot.com/2008/02/subject...babysitter.html As a fan of zombies I approve. As a guy who doesn't do 1/6th scale, it's not enough to make me start collecting that scale but it's sure tempting.

http://toypit.blogspot.com/2008/02/sotas-u...lhu-statue.html I don't know what exactly it is about it that bothers me. It's not the price, that's fine. I dunno. But I'm interested to see the Sideshow version.

it's more SWAG... which is hardly breaking news. But it's what makes NECA's business model work so at least they're going to stay with thier core competencies to some degree. I don't know what the financials were to say whether it looked like a good deal but it does seems to match up based on product since it helps fill a weakness I've seen when it comes to NECA and resin and give them a bigger specialty market appeal since they could go a bit more high end than before.

http://toypit.blogspot.com/2008/01/halo-3-...al-product.html They look like they've got some heavy blackwashing. Hopefully that gets fixed and these aren't final versions. The sculpts look good though.

Halo 3 figure packaging, specs and 2 comparison photos
Avi replied to Avi's topic in General Toy Talk
Series 2 will have Covenant Carbines, Brute Spikers, Shotguns and even the Spartan Laser and from what it looks like all of the weapons can be stored on the back or thigh using those pegs -
Halo 3 Series 2 photos revealed (Arbiter, ODST, Brute Stalker and more)

http://toypit.blogspot.com/2008/01/halo-3-...-and-specs.html I threw everything together in a single blog post. Chief is about as big as I expected. That makes me think that even the Grunt will look large compared to the Joes because of his proportions. This is also the final confirmation on the Grunt 2-pack situation, so unfortunately for us we're either going to have to learn to like it or cancel a lot of pre-orders.

I'd be all over new DinoRiders

Over at the blog we're doing our own Best Of lists for 2007 and a few of them are up. More categories will be going up through this weekend, and I'm always open to suggestions about categories or nominations. Leave your suggestions or comments here or on the blog in the comments section below the post. http://toypit.blogspot.com/2007/12/best-of-2007-polls.html

I'm a lot happier with it without having to look at those ridiculous pink gums. If you want to see more pics, there's 2 other on my blog. http://chaoscustoms.blogspot.com/2007/11/hunter-alpha.html As always, constructive criticism and comments are welcome

Some of you may have already seen this, but I just started my own blog for custom figures to go along with the ToyPit blog. This one's going to be more of a repository of my work rather than a news blog. One of the thing that bugs me most about NECA are the paint applications that come out of the factory. Stop by the blog and check out one of my more recent Resident Evil repaints. http://chaoscustoms.blogspot.com/2007/11/licker-repaint.html As always, comments and constructive criticism are encouraged. Thanks for taking the time to take a peek. More will be on the way soon, I hope including a look at the minor mod I made on the Hunter.

NECA's been fairly good with sculpting, but one of thier faults has always been the paint applications that come out of the factory. That being said, the factory paint on the Tyrant bugged the hell out of me. Stop by my blog and check out the repainted figure. http://chaoscustoms.blogspot.com/2007/11/tyrant-002.html As always, comments and constructive criticism are encouraged. Thanks for taking the time to take a peek. -Avi
