  1. Are scalpers prejudice? Yes, they only love green.

Aw c'mon. After Pay-pal fees, shipping (which I'm paying) and eBay fees I'm breaking even. It's no different if you bought these from BBTS or any other etailer. Difference is folks want to jump on me as a gouger. I sell at a fair price and make these available to those who can't find them. Scalpers charge far more and try to squeeze as much as they can out.

I'm providing a service of sorts.

Regardless, folks will hate. Comes with the territory I suppose.

Anyway, more available for those who are interested... editeditediteditedit

  2. My WM in Palatine ,IL had a endcap full of wave 10.I got there too late to see 10 Black Batman & 10 Power Girl.

Thanks for the tip on this. I chased all the way down to Palatine from work on my lunch hour (ok, it was slightly closer to 90 minutes than 60) and found the Bats and Power Girls on the pegs. They were moved from an apparent endcap that was referenced above. I looked around them and found someone was nice enough to hide a Joker for me!!!

So I grabbed the three figs, paid for them and left at least three Power Girls and three bats hanging there for someone else.

Now I've got to hope I can get my mitts on the Man-Bat, Beast boy, Robotman & Forager somewhere... 893USA1-thumb.gif

I Was just there the other day and saw the pegs LOADED wuth Black Batman and Powergirl. I found the whole wave (and sold it on eBay for $35 a pop) a couple of weeks ago at thw Walmart in Mt. Prospect. I kepts the Man-Bat and a Joker for my personal collection. The others scored me some Pay-Pal play money. I works nights near said Walmart so I swing by around 3-4am and scope out the toy aisles. More times than not I score all sorts of new figures. Joes, Star Wars and DCUC to name a few.

Not to start another scalper debate, but we dont like your kind of scum around here!

I'm sure I'll cry myself to sleep tonight on my pile of eBay money. Incidentally, I have six more figures on eBay for those of you haters who can't find them. Price is down due to supply... $25 a pop. I know someone here will buy them. Probably the same guy who hates me but wtf, your money is good here anyway.

  4. My questions are valid, and by no means are they meant as anything other than simple interest in the validity of an item. I am not questioning HissCommander himself, but his multiple posts of it NOT being a custom has me interested in the how/why.

Thanks for the advice though, I'll take it under advisement.

Yeah..the guy who did the custom took the time to paint the ankle joints green to match the BLACK boots just to throw us off.

Take a closer look at the pic and you'll have your answer. there are clear differences, such as the aformentioned head being cast in fleshtone plastic and my mentioning the ankle's here.

  5. If I only knew how to post a pic on this site... Far too difficult... I would. My default Batman is the black wave3 version with an Un-Masked Jim Lee Batman head on the figure. A good figure went to flipping Awsome with this simple mod.

  6. Wasn't there supposed to be some other villian that Wolverine fought in this movie...another weapon X type villian that's NOT Deadpool?

This could be someone else, even though the figure is out there. WOuldn't be the first mistake made... Sort of the Ra's al Ghul type thing.

One could hope. I was looking forward to red and black leather with the domino mask.

  7. Saw last night and I thought it was tits! Can't wait for the Green Lantern's new flick this July. I know we have had a ton of Batman stuff lately, but I wouldn't mind seeing him get his PG-13 animated flick. Same goes for Superman and the rest of the JLA's A-list.

  8. I th9nk this is more along the lines of prototypes v. final prodcut. Seldom do figures thathit the shelves completely resemble the prototypes we see at cons or toyfairs.

I think the figures we have were always destined to be as such, not price cutting by shrinking their figures. Imagine the uproar over such a change... Mattel is trying to be collector friendly. A change like that would cause too much backlash.

  9. So I, much like others, have experienced the wrist pegs on ne of my Hot Toy figures breaking. In particular, the wrist peg on my Dark Knight Batman broke. Now, were it not one of my most prized figures AND close to $200, I wouldn't mind...incidentally, I go mine from Urban Toys for $150, but I digress... I was switching hands and on the first tug * SNAP * the right wrist peg broke. After much frustration and cussing, I contacted Hot Toys support and they not only replaced the peg, but sent me an additional peg for my trouble... VEry cool.

Now, I am a loyal purchaser of such collectibles. Great customer service and they managed this perfectly.

If you have or should you have the same problem I did, contact Hot Toys as they will help you out.

I should point out that you will need a copy of your receipt and a photo of the broken piece as proof.

  10. Finally, a respectable Joker to add to my collection. Well, repectable from mattel. My Classics Batman has been in need of a worthy oponent. I refused to purchase the first figure on the grounds that it sucked sweaty monkey balls.

    Well done Mattel.

  11. Saw but didn't purchase (kicking self) Superman, Shazam and Hawkman at the Arlington HEights Target a couple weeks ago and this morning I scored Flash and Green Lantern at the Palatine Wal-Mart. The whole wave was there complete with Barda, Kid Flash and so on for those interested htough I'm sure they've been scooped up.

Point is, I have seen a ton more DC Classics waves here in IL than I have any other wave in the past.

  12. Great figures, but weak, weak wrist pegs. My DK Batman already has a broken wrist peg rendering him useless. I have since located a pair on eBay, but I shouldn;t have to find replacemtns on a figure this espensive. Hot Toys is doing a bang-up job on their 1/6 scale figures, but these crap wrist pegs have me longing for Sideshow construction.

  13. Easily two of the best figures I own.. Dark Knight Batman and Original cotstume Joker. Apart from the Jokers head, I absolutely love these figures. Time to score a Bank Robber Joker and Harvey/Two-Face. I may pick up the Begins Batman, but I might be happy enough with my Takara version. I'll have to compare them both before I decide... If I do get him, it'll be out of severe completeist sickness I suffer from...

Great review, pics and post. Love these figures. Much to my wife's chagrin, I'll be looking forward to future releases.

  14. I haven't seen wave 12 yet... Seems they got skipped somehow.

No worries.. I'll only be looking to get Python CG and Tripwire from that wave

Wait.... Cobra Flint is crappy but you want to get a Python Patrol Crimson Guard? A "Crimson" Guard whose all bright yellow?

That CG is one crappy figure and should I get him in a wave from BBTS you're entitled to him.

Cobra flint is a pretty sweet figure... Not only for the nod to the Sunbow episode, but as a short sleeved trooper. I need several of this badboy to make a mechanic crew for Cobra.

  15. Both sets look sweet. I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I like all the figures.... Cobra Comander being my least favorite, but there are great updates ot the ones we've been complaining about and new versions of ones we wanted replaced. All in all both of these sets are great. Can't wait to get my mitts on all of them.

I know there's two posts, but I'll post my thoughts on both here....

Flint - Great updates. New arms used on the original colors. New head, web gear and looks like a new crotch.

Lady Jaye - New legs and paint scheme as well as gear and weapons.

Snake Eyes - Bout time we got this version and a new Timber to boot.

Shipwreck - pleasantly surprised by this upgrade. New legs, arms and Polly. And a grapple hook.

Hawk - Meh...Cartoon colors, but still nice.

Cobra Commander - Easily the one throw away though I'll use those hands for some mods on other figures.

Storm Shadow - New arms and lower legs. I'll need to swap out the gray belt and lower legs for white ones, but nice.

Zartan - YES! A pissed Zartan.

Baroness - Easily the best figure of this wave and one of the top three of the whole line.

Viper - Sigh. To little to late on this one I'm afraid. Dig the arms and face plate, but sadly I've already troop built and modified so this is probably be trade bait.

I'm sure I'll have some spares as I'm getting a pair of each, so be on the look out for my trade post.

  16. I hate, hate, hate it when they (studios) screw with the race of a character. Lets make the proposed movie about Black Panther a white guy....Lets make Thor Asian. Lets make Captain America Mexican. Those don't work... Why? BEcause they AREN"T the character. Now don't get me wrong, Nick Fury as played by Samuel L. JAckson is cool, but he still looks like Shaft with an eye patch. Nick Fury was - IS - a white guy. These are characters with loooong background and followings. To up and change the character dies said character (and fans) an disservice.

Wonder Woman is Amazonian....But with Greco/Roman religious archetypes. Ultimatley she's White.

Black Panther... Great character. Blade...Great character... Both black and terrible if they were to be/have been portrayed by white or any other ethnic/racial actors.

For most fans, their favorite comic books are like the bible. You don't change the stories in the bible, they just are.

DC.... If you read these threads, be mor elike Marvel Studios. Get you act together and realize you have some of THE coolest properties int he comic universe and can make them into serious Block Busters. If Batman Begins and The Dark Knight taught us anything, it's that when you keep true (or as close as you can) to a characters comic roots, you strike gold.

  17. Oh man...My kid brother and I used to play with Joes for hours. Joes were our ultimate toy. Sure we had He-Man, Transformers and pretty much anythign else the 80's and early 90's had for us, but Joes were always our base toy. Every Joe had at one time or another had to have it's o-ring replaced or screws replaced due to rusting out. Most were crotchless or missing thmbs due to us wearing them out. Great fun.

To this day I remember how we used to play and get really into it. It usually ended with us fighting over how to do something...

Now I don't play with my toys. I open the, pose them and recall the times when I played withthe original (I'm a 25th/Modern man now) and then pack them back up and put them away put of my wifes condescending eye. There have been times where I made a sound effect or imagined a scenario but never played them out.

Sure wish they had these when I was a kid...I would have had loads more fun.

  18. The best batmobile was the version used in the new films. To be honest, a roadster type muscle car like in the comics is great....in the comics. I prefer the urban tank to the muscle car any day. The muscle car is great, much like most sports cars of today. They look sleek and fast even standing still. But those types of cars - Batman Returns for example - would NOT be able to do much aside from drive fast. In Returns you see the car bulldozing cars on the street out of the way by flipping them as it plows down the road under the Penguins control. I just don't see it. The comics worj in the world of fantasy because they are drawn...pretty much anything goes in comics. In the movies I need to have some sort of reality or I get lost as too much fantasy makes a movie campy in a comic way. Batman would use more military based equipment to fight crime... The tank-mobile is absolutely believable and more suited to the type of work he's doing.

Not to get off topic...Conroy all the way for me.
