  1. Assuming asspats since he threw in 'good game'. And nothing goes along with good game like a good asspat. All that aside, apart from Batman and his family and the Justice League - my DC nerdom pales in comparison to my Marvel-geekiness. I still like the DCU, but the characters I typically seem drawn towards seem more prevalent in the Marvel U. I like the lower power class fisticuffs and some sword play and grittiness thrown in for good measure. Of course I do fully understand this is due to my growing up reading comics in the 90's. Funny enough, however, is my little brother finally coming to the comic side like his older bro. I'm ten years his senior and he has just within the past 6 months hopped on the bandwagon and it seems he steers more to the DC side of it all.
  2. I was excited to hear about Captain America and Thor - seeing as no company is making straight comic accurate Marvel characters in the 1:6 scale. The Iron Man figures are great and the other Avengers will be well received. Curious about the Iron Monger to it's scale and if done properly scaled - I wonder if they would do a Hulk true to scale also. The Burton Batman movies getting made is also awesome and I will probably pick up Batman and Joker - just wish I would have been into HT figures when the DX versions of TDK Batman and Joker came out. They are through the roof on the secondary market these days, but would be a neat set-up in someone's collection. Nothing else really excited me, but that's probably for the best and I guess I should be relieved they didn't get Star Wars license. A Star Wars line would probably bankrupt me with a quickness. I would like to see a Green Lantern figure as well, and figure it will probably happen at some point. But, Iron Man Mark V, Thor, Captain America, Indiana Jones, and Keaton Batman was enough interest for the year.
  3. That above picture is great, Pooda. And I could definitely see this as a great modern update of the classic trooper in another real life sequel. If only they could get away from the Neo Viper look.
  4. Found this on Christmas eve and bought it for my son's stocking. And I have to say - damn, what a fantastic figure! 3 swords, silenced pistol, uzi, and rifle. Removable knife and interchangeable head? Yowza! I like the interchangeable head because I've always been more of a fan of the v1 look even though the v2 with visor seems to be widely more popular. I only collect 1:6 stuff for myself these days, and I wish this figure would get a giant sized counter part. Including the changeable portrait. The few POC items I have purchased for my little one have been of the highest caliber and I must confess that I am quite impressed.
  5. On the 12 Days of Sideshow Christmas Day brought up a picture of a completed Hawk and Stalker coming from Sideshow. And both were seen in the reflection of a Viper mask. Good stuff! Only problem is I wish they would do more main line villains aside from rainbow colored troopers.
  6. What's the average price on a Hot Toys figure and where is the best place to buy them. I've been tempted to take the plunge for a little while and seeing there upcoming line up (Indiana Jones, 89 Batman, and Metal Gear Solid in particular) is making it hard to resist. Hot Toys generally go from around $150 to upwards of $250ish depending on accessories and such. I usually get mine from bigbadtoystore.com or cornerstorecomics.com . Check both sites for Hot Toy listings. And, technically, you can pre-order / order from the sideshow website too. They just, generally, seem to be more expensive. These are high end movable statue-esque collectibles and aren't anything you get on the cheap. They also seem to sky rocket on the secondary market - making it hard to impossible (read stupid expensive) to play catch up.
  7. The picture on the front page of the Hot Toys Indiana is amazing looking! I will most definitely be adding this to my collection.
  8. Awesome! I was wondering when we would see this armor in all it's 1/6 Glory. I have hopes that Hot Toys obtains (or has obtained) the rights to Thor, Captain America, and Green Lantern as well. Since no company is pumping out comic accurate Marvel 12 inchers and the DCD 13" just don't do it for me, these will be the closest I get. I even like the Ghost Rider... as long as the Nic Cage head stays in the box.
  9. Ah. Awesome! Wish I would have known that, but either way. I'll know it for the future. Thanks!
  10. This will be the weekend when we find out what else HT has in store for us. I'll definitely pick up Indy (and probably Jones SR. if offered) - but that would be it from those movies. As far as a Star Wars license. I'd be stoked and have to prepare to go deep in my pockets. But, if I get a Scout Trooper, Snow Trooper, and most definitely Boba Fett - I wouldn't complain.
  11. I'm actually very excited for an Indy from Hot Toys. I had been kicking around the idea of buying the Sideshow one, but I'm glad I didn't now. Most definitely will pick up a DX Doctor Jones when he becomes available. And throw in equipment for Indy from Raiders, Temple, and Crusade. As far as Star Wars? That actually kinds of scares me. I'm a Star Wars nut and have quite a few of the armored Star Wars characters (Vader, Troopers, Clones), but if HT picked it up I would probably go for the core cast as well. And then go utterly broke in the process.
  12. Completely forgot to record it on my DVR. I take it that you weren't impressed?
  13. I had been tapping the shows on Wednesday and then they ran into re-runs after the Black Panther episode. Realized this week that the new episodes come on Sunday morning. I also caught the Mar-Vell episode from Saturday and this mornings. Still a great episode and really nice to see all the cameos from Marvel's who's who.
  14. Heh. I always enjoy the lists on cracked.com and try to swing by the website on occasions for a good chuckle or two. Yes, they are picking on children's toys aimed at children. And that, in it self, explains why Spider-Man needs a four-wheeler, Flash needs a motorcycle, or Superman a flying car. But the humor is in taking the characters "seriously" and then trying to explain the accessories as if it showed up in a comic book, cartoon, or movie. Might be a bit of an eye-raiser. Of course this type of ironic taking things literal type of humor has a very dry undertone to it. And that's what I enjoy. As for the language? I didn't even notice the excessive use of it when I read through the article. But, then again, I did spend many MANY years as a waiter and become desensitized to foul language that would make a sailor blush and other horrifically offensive slurs.
  15. Hasbrotoyshop is currently running a deal on select Joe stuff for today (December 15th) - mostly ROC stuff, but there are a few POC items on there. And currently free shipping with no minimum order. Just a heads up.
  16. Bwha? Didn't know this was even possible. Did you just shoot them an e-mail..?
  17. Saw 1 of these and 3 Furys at my local Ross. Still can't believe these didn't hit big box retailers before here.
  18. They sold out fast enough unadvertised. This would have been a blink and they are gone special if they had actually advertised it.
  19. I agree. But both Logan and Snake Eyes? Kind of makes the other Joes unnecessary.
  20. Damnit. And I thought snagging him for $30 was a good price, but $20? That's almost a third of the original tag at TRU and you don't even have to leave your house.
  21. The one I found has the variant figures shown in the picture. I really don't want to take the gamble and end up with another one of these. Checked a local TRU again tonight and no regular versions. Sheesh. I've probably seen 15 - 20 variants, but not a single Redpool.
  22. I've also found the GG / HG two-pack at the Canton, Ga Wal-Mart as well.
  23. That. Looked. Awesome! Definitely can't wait to see this one.
  24. Even better! Pulled the trigger this time and since I'm a Prime member (thanks to my little bro adding me to his plan) I got this bad boy coming with free shipping.
  25. And the sale is over. Damn. Should have decided to pull the trigger 6 hours ago...
