  1. Just finished watching TF3:DOtM. And daaaaaamn! that's a summer movie.

  2. Yup, Ma gave it to Clark last season. And it currently sits in the Fortress of Solitude (I think?) In a future episode this current season a red and blue wearing Clark can be seen zooming by in a reflection of a nearby window.
  3. I don't want to say it was a bad year in movies. I'm seen a ton of movies this year that I really have enjoyed. Iron Man 2, Tron: Legacy, Inception, Toy Story 3, Megamind, Tangled, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, Predators, Knight and Day, A-Team, Alice in Wonderland, the Losers, the Expendables, Karate Kid, Kick Ass, Prince of Persia, How to Train Your Dragon, Shrek 4, Percy Jackson, Jonah Hex (Yes, I did like this movie. But I knew better than going in with unrealistic expectations), TCON: The Dawn Treader, Harry Potter 7 (Part 1), Despicable Me, RED, Get Him to the Greek, etc. etc. etc. I'm a huge movie fan and this is just a portion of movies I saw this year and in the theater. Not even counting seeing Inception three times or Iron Man 2 twice. And I saw a bunch more of 2010 on DVD (didn't have time to see them all on the big screen.) As far as the best and worst list - I usually expect the best movies to be high end and artsy and definitely shooting for Oscar potential. Pleasantly surprised to see Inception so high up. 2011 is going to be a huge year of sequels and highly anticipated movies. In just a few weeks you get Green Hornet and that still leaves: Thor, Captain America, Green Lantern, Transformers 3, Sucker Punch, Cowboys and Aliens, and POTC 4. Not to mention X-Men: First Class and Conan - which I will see but not sure what to expect. What can I say? I love movies and usually see at least 1 - 2 in an actual theater every week.
  4. I'd call it a live action FernGully, personally.
  5. Heh. Preaching to the choir. As of this post you have exactly 4,000 more than me. And just shy of two months on sign-up dates. I'm all about quality and not quantity. Unfortunately I haven't had enough quality quantity to quantify much. Or. Something?
  6. No one would know. I don't have any personal relationships through TNI and, let's be honest, my post count after 8 years is matched by some people in 2 months. So. I guess. If I didn't post anything for at least 1 year then go ahead and consider me 6-feet under.
  7. Name: CapnJeffro or just Jeffry. Collections: Star Wars (I just stick to the OT stuff), MOTU, DC / Marvel comic characters, and G.I. Joe. Top 10 Albums: Not sure if I can break it down to 10 most favorite albums, but perhaps 10 of my favorite bands instead? Depche Mode, NIN, the Beatles, The Fray, The Killers, Angie Aparo, Fuel, Flogging Molly, Coldplay, and Maroon 5. But I could go on and on. Political Alignment: A liberally moderate radical. Or something? Generally speaking I'm fairly apathetic to politics when it comes to picking sides. If it's dumb, it don't matter what color ya are. Favorite Books: I've been recently reading Jim Butcher's Dresden Files series. Also a fan of the classics C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia (as well as his religious writings), T.S. Eliot and his Lord of the Rings trilogy, George Orwell's 1984, and the list could go on... Last Good Movie: Last few movies I saw are Leap Year (yeah, I watch chick flicks - what of it?), Avatar, and Ninja Assassin. All were enjoyable for their own brand of genre. Education: I have a B.A. in English. Focusing on short story writing and journalism. Favorite TV Shows: Just thought I'd throw this one in here. But mostly because I watch a lot of TV - mostly thanks to that evil invention: the DVR. Currently, my weekly record list is Heroes, House, Chuck, Scrubs, White Collar, Human Target, Fringe, Burn Notice, Smallville, Batman: Brave and the Bold, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Family Guy, and American Dad. I'm probably missing one or two, but... yeah. I watch a lot of TV. Little Known Fact: Well, maybe it's not a little known fact, but I'm a single father raising my little wingman and sidekick. My four (almost five) year old son.
  8. Apparently I'm either blind or... well... I don't know. Both of those pics that the Capt. put up I see nothing but an empty room or a girl making a goofy face at the camera. I'm just not seeing the 'scary' part.
  9. Nope, this Capn is single too.

  10. My link Just curious is anyone else out there is suffering through this mind-boggling amount of rain we're getting in Dixie Land? Hoo-boy, for once I'm glad I live on the 3rd floor of my Apt. complex. At this rate, however, I may be neighbors with Aquaman by the end of the week...
  11. You're absolutely right. I don't know anything about you other than what you put in black and white. And the same goes on you when concerning myself. I feel everyone deserves equal respect and don't feel like I'm on a high-horse by saying so. I don't believe Obama should have been interrupted and neither should Swift. They both deserve the respect to finish their speeches, thoughts, statements. But we differ in that regard so C'est La Vie. As far as complaints on Obama or crying about it - I merely took your statement and switched the names around (I'm sure you caught on to that.. right?) Wasn't an attack on you - just showing the overall humor in this thread or the other if you switch Obama/Swift and Wilson/West.
  12. I was going to stay far away from this cluster f***, but that statement in bold needs to be addressed. You truly feel one person no matter age, race, sex, or any other factor deserves more respect than another human being? Everyone deserves equal respect. Everybody deserves to be treated like a human being; whether it be the Commander and Chief or a 19 year old country singer. If you feel otherwise I truly feel sorry for you and your utter lack of a moral compass. And in the same twist of words - is Obama a defenseless grown man who had his speech interrupted? Cry about it. It's not like Wilson punched him and took over the floor. Sheesh.
  13. Well. Either he's an idiot or a genius. Much of the social media I venture to everyday (forums, myspace, facebook, twitter, etc...) has been blowing up with his name. He's getting exactly what he wanted - recognization. Because we all know bad press is better than no press. What he did was disrespectful, horribly wrong, and worked perfectly as a publicity stunt. It was also in a round-about way a win for Swift too. She was victimized and everyone feels horrible for her. And thus she is being talked about. On iTunes both of her albums are top 10 in the Country category (At number 1 and 4.) And number 5 for all genres combined. She was cut-off, but she hardly lost the battle. Kayne only helped her popularity.
  14. That is absolutely baffling. I live in a town of around 15,000 and I can get to one of 6 coffee houses within 5 min and then if I drive 20 miles to the nearest mall I pass roughly 10 Starbucks alone. But if there isn't one nearby then you might be just fine. Another thing to keep in mind is to pay more than the minimum for your mortgage. A friend of mine's parents opened up a deli back in 95 (and it is still open) and I recently found out that they pay the minimum and refinance every year. They are still 250,000 + in debt after almost 13 years.
  15. Honda's are definitely the way to go. I'm still driving my 1995 Honda Civc Ex (that I bought in 1998 no less) and it is sitting around 140,000 miles, but never any real problems. And I still get around 27 - 30 mpg. I would love to get a new car, but I haven't had a car payment in this decade - so thats not something I want to bring back. I figure I have 100k more miles to go and as little as I drive (around 250 miles a week) that will go a long way.
