  1. Is it possible that anyone could still be entertained by yet another Venom variation? "Hey guys, we need to debut another cool new villain. Let's make him a symbiote, and he'll be a craaaaazy, sociopathic, cold-blooded killer! But not like Carnage or Toxin--he'll be a really craaaaazy, sociopathic, cold-blooded killer!"
  2. Aint It Cool News also gave it glowing reviews (beware of spoilers): Here's Harry's take: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/36559 And Moriarty's: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/36560 And AICN member Latauro's: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/36553 It looks like we may have a real comic-book-movie success story in the mold of Spider-Man, X-Men and Batman Begins.
  3. Oh, that's embarrassing...sorry for the quadruple post. I only come into the forums through marvelousnews, which never had this on their front-page. I didn't think to search the actual toynews forums. Now I can't delete it.
  4. Yes, it's totally a new and different character and isn't a discarded Hulk series figure painted red. I will reiterate that my complaint isn't that the Red Hulk (whoever he is) is a bad character, or that he shouldn't get a figure someday. It's that Hasbro copped out by making him the BAF for that series. (And I'm not usually a Hasbro-basher.) Either they ran out of ideas or just got lazy, because for months we've been making lists of characters that would be good BAFs. And this pretty much confirms that we'll never again get a Hulk-sized figure as a regular figure in a series (at least not for $10). We thought that the Hulk series' increased $15 price was because the BAF is larger, but now seeing a Hulk BAF must mean that even Hulk-sized figures have exceeded the $10 price point.
  5. For the life of me, I don't know why we're getting a BAF Hulk when we're already getting two Hulk ML waves and a mess of Hulk movie figures. I don't know anything about the character, but whether the comic is any good isn't the point. Hasbro has gone overboard with Hulks! There are still some cool BAFs they could've done, like Nimrod. It seems to me that they couldn't come up with a good BAF for this wave, and just decided to use one of the Hulk series rejects.
  6. Age of Apocalypse Sunfire, the winner of last year's ToyFare Fans' Choice poll, is now available for pre-order at HasbroToyShop. The link is here: http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/ProductsByCat...=21740&PG=1 It ships in October. I really have no clue why Hasbro took a character made of nuclear flame and cast him in a dull, solid, yellowish plastic instead of translucent orange. Heck, they could've just re-used or modified the House of M box set's Inhuman Torch. I hate to pile on Hasbro, but they really need to figure out how to do fiery characters like Sunfire and Human Torch, because this is just...bad. Nonetheless, for any of you Legends completists or AoA/Sunfire fans, there you go.
  7. I hope they remember to confiscate his sword and ninja stars, because Blade is dangerous, man!!
  8. An Iron Man ML wave would've been amazing...imagine getting figures of Spymaster, Ghost, Crimson Dynamo, Living Laser, Madam Masque, etc. Iron Man's got such a cool rogue's gallery, yet all we've seen is a rather lousy Mandarin. Sadly, it looks like all we'll get is that completely random-looking Titanium Man in the movie line.
  9. Well, no Valkyrie, which is bad, but no McGuiness Hulk, which is good. The Savage Grey Hulk looks good. But I was really digging that Bi-Beast shown in the NYCC photos. Oobviously, it's not part of this line. The label next to the figure photos said it was from a video game. So is it not an ML? Where is it actually being released?
  10. Indeed. There may well be 500, but I think about 450 of them are being constantly bought and re-sold on eBay. A collector's item isn't really all that impressive if everyone's selling theirs at the same place, creating a steady flow.
  11. You have been reported. They will be coming for you. Tomorrow, you will be replaced by an identical duplicate and no one will ever know.
  12. If you want to sound like a super-cool action-figure whiz, you should call it a "soft goods" cape. Soft goods is a generic term for cloth used on a figure (like robes, hoods, capes, etc.).
  13. This is fun! Nick Fury and Cyclops are Namor; Scarlet Witch is Mystique; Deadpool is Daredevil; Omega Red and box-set Venom are Sabretooth; Rogue and Black Cat are Elektra; Series 5 Red Skull is movie Daredevil; Ms. Marvel is Phoenix; and most impressively, Bullseye is Taskmaster, Moon Knight, Havok and Captain Marvel (as well as HML Quicksilver)
  14. Wow, this is terrific news. Not only do we have Hulk movie figures, we get two Hulk ML waves, a Hulk Marvel Select, and now a Hulk BAF! I'm so glad, because I was afraid that I might go a month without a Hulk figure being available for sale. Hulk has had so many exciting costumes and armors that it's about time we finally got another dozen figures.
