  1. No plans for Airborne? Was this said by Hasbro in a panel? That sucks. He would even be cool for a vehicle comic pack. Airborne, a glider and issue 11...my favorite GI Joe issue.
  2. You can ALWAYS say no. Not to mention I'm pretty sure the higher price for these will be because of a shorter "print" run. The reason WalMart and TRU aren't carrying these is because they didn't want to in the first place.
  3. I'll buy one set and no more. I REALLY hope they aren't packaged with the sniper rifle as their weapons. I'm already tired of that one.
  4. I agree with Valdin. I think it's about the perceived laziness of the consumers and the shelf appeal to random parent/children buyers. Hasbro know that we, as collectors, will buy these anyway. Adding the window box might add some impulse shoppers when a kid stops and says cool!. As far as the pricing goes. Everything is more expensive now. I remember buying single carded Joes for $2. But that was back in 1982. I highly doubt it has anything to do with the vehicles being pre-assembled.
  5. Yeah, I always figured Airborne would be mandatory for a regular release single carded figure.
  6. Of the two I would choose Dr. Venom. But wouldn't a trooper figure be better as a mail away? Like Steel Brigade or a green shirt? That way people would buy more figures to send in for more figures.
  7. Duke- The team needs a leader and even though I have the most love for the original 13, I still think of Duke as the prototypical field leader. There is also no way a GI Joe movie could be made without him... Snake Eyes- This one is a given. It HAS to have Snake Eyes. I would leave out the ninja crap and make him the original commando bad ass that he was. Scarlett- Gotta have a woman on the team and the original is still the best. I would also make her the computer/electronics expert of the team. A modern team needs one and only having 5 slots doesn't leave a spot for one of the actual communications experts like say....Breaker. So that specialty is added on to Scarlett. Stalker- My GI Joe ALWAYS has to have Stalker. He's one of my all time favorite Joes and he would be there to keep Snake Eyes in line. The team also needs a field medic and interpreter. That man is Stalker. Clutch- The team needs a vehicle expert. Clutch IS my favorite Joe. I picture a GI Joe movie as having to have a vehicle chase/getaway scene so it would need to have Clutch. He would also add the comedic relief. No, I wouldn't have slapstick comedy but something more like the semi-good natured ribbing that occured between Scarlett and Clutch in the early run of the Marvel series.
  8. Well, I'm already saving to buy an army of Snow Jobs. It's mandatory that I have all of my Joes ecked out in Arctic gear. Hey! Someone at the Con approach Hasbro and tell them that a super-neato variant for the Snow Job wave would be to throw a black beard on Snow Job and a Frosbite filecard on the back of the package
  9. I assumed it was because both Destro and the character Rowdy Roddy Piper are both from Scotland. It really doesn't make any less sense than including Sgt. Slaughter as a trainer on the GI Joe team does it? Sure we are far removed from Piper's prime but back in the day there wasn't a bigger villian in wrestling. He's a perfect foil to Sgt. Slaughter.
  10. I got my "Catwoman Case" in today as well as a Sdcc Manbat. So I'm full of DCSH love today...I'm off to go play...err... I mean display them.
  11. Lady Jaye is just a tiny bit taller than Baroness and Scarlett and that's because of Jaye's hat.
  12. I don't know, with the rising cost of styrofoam gliders that might break the budget.
  13. The silver cobra isn't a mistake. It's made to resemble the Cobra Trooper that came with the styrofoam Cobra Viper Glider back in 84. So no mistake has been made. Unless you are calling the original ARAH Viper Glider pilot a mistake.... and as we all know there were NEVER any mistakes made in the original line.
  14. And I'd buy that G1 colored Jazz if i could find ANY other of the movie figs to pal around with him....
  15. I suppose I will have to army build Snow Job as I like to have all of my Joes in arctic gear. This could be pricey.
  16. I was under the impression that Jazz was a main character listed for this show but he will be a motorcycle-ninja type character. I seem to remember reading that somewhere...
  17. A perfect way to fit Major Bludd into the line. Which happens to be my favorite "mail-away" from the good old days.
  18. The Superhero Squad Mega packs ARE out. I just picked up the Sentinel at Kmart about an hour ago. It was $12.69...which is a rather random price...
  19. Yep, I used to buy one of each of the Micromen that would come out. I even have a few of the Material Force (blank ones) but I pretty much stopped when the knees and ankles would start to break. They would break with just normal movement, especially the characters cast in a clear plastic. Cool toys but too fragile for the cost of each one.
  20. Haven't seen them in stores yet but the Jazz/Thundercracker set is on ebay so hopefully soon. I just picked up my 5-pack at Walmart today. I did the site to store feature from Walmart.com. It's a VERY nice set for $10.
  21. Lots of Classics Mirage and Cliffjumper. Devestator is out in full force as well. Probably because my Walmart just now put him out...
  22. You have a message in your inbox sir!
