  1. So bounce me! @firedevil@ I'd be better than getting insulted by a bunch of schmucks for posting my opinion. @grumpy@ In the words of Nick Fury," "your all a bunch of pinko's"! #US1# And for the record, I've got the job you all want, so suck it! @smilepunch@
  2. Well excuse the hell out of me for trying to post. Hey 8 ball, thanks for the kind comments. Jerk! I hope the sky falls on your pompous @$$! It's real easy to hide behind an online tag and act like the "god of the boards". And for the record I never said anything about toybiz getting the license back, but that they could be contracted by Hasbro to produce figures since Hasbro doesn't have all the facilities they need. And NO, it isn't too early for an action figure line to be announced for the X-men cartoon, That's the way it used to be done, I can show you the old product catalogues. They used to produce the figures based on confidence in the product line. No such luck any more. But the cartoon is going to be out in November, and if they plan to have a toyline connected, this is STILL the place to show it to the big box stores. I'm sorry, I forgot that discussions can't happen here. Just annoymous condicention.
  3. Sorry about the triplicate posting, my computer hickuped.
  4. After a pretty dismal showing at Toy Fair 2008 i was thinking that the Marvel Legends team may want to do some "damage control" to help calm the nerves of Legends fans everywhere. I think it's a pretty general feeling on these boards that the excitement for these lines is waining. That combined with the lackluster showing (ML wise) at ToyFair worries the crap out of me, and I feel that some kind of podcast/open Q&A would help put some minds at ease. There are alot of things that have just been left hanging... Are the Upcomming and awesome looking Icons done for? Is there any hope for exclusive Icons, so we can see these if they do get cancelled? When are we gonna see HML 4? What is the deal with Marvel Toys & Jesse Falcon being brought on as consultants? Does this mean that Marvel Toys/ToyBiz could be making the legends again? What happened to the rest of the Hulk figures (i.e. Valkryie, Doc Samson, Skaaar)? Is there gonna be a Wolverine and the X-men Toy Line? Could we get some more listings of these 2-packs? Are we ever gonna see the return of the boxset? Cause we need 'em! Where's the New Cap figure? The new costume design was announced 4 months ago! Last year was a difficult one for Marvel Legends fans. The company switch left many angry about a myraid of issues from articulation, to price, to quality. Yet it is my belief that even through thier online "posturing" and "Kvetching", most still purchase the lines in hopes that the product will get better, and to a certain extent, it has. And just when things started to look up for the line (HML3 and HMLF4 were alot better) there was a complete stoppage of info, alot of these questions started to arise, and a sparse showing at ToyFair that has left many LOYAL FANS wondering where OUR favorite toy line stands. Is ML in trouble? Is there change in the air? (i.e. 3 3/4" figures?) Does the future of the line rest on the shoulders of Iron Man & Hulk sales? Could we get a podcast to help ease our minds here? I think it would go a long way towards building fan trust, which IMHO has taken a hit recently. But I'm just a stupid collector that's bought everything marvel has put out for almost 20 years, so what do I know.
  5. I'm a die hard Legends fan, and I hope the line continues forever, but if 3 3/4 legends are able to have as much detail then I would buy them. I would love to see vehicles and playsets. Have you ever set up a superhero showdown figure with a BAF Sentinel. They look pretty awesome together. Look the whole 3 inch thing is just a systemic cost of oil increase that all of the industry is facing. 6"ers cost more than 10.00 now msrp. That's too much for the standard parent to spend these recession worried days. Hence the industries almost unilatteral shift to 3 3/4 figures. This was the same situation as the 70's oil crisis. The 3 3/4 Star Wars figures were made that size BECAUSE we were in an oil crisis at the time, and now the same thing is happening again. Inflation aside, a figure has to be around the $5-7 dollar range for it to be successfull for kids. And with oil over $100 a barrel, toy companies are having to cut down in order to meet thier target cost. Let's face it, 3 3/4 figures can meet the $5-7 price range, 6"ers are gonna be upwards of $10-15-20.00 now. That being said, I'd pay $20.00 for a GOOD, Quality, 6 inch legend. NOT 8", NOT 12". A good, 6 inch figure. Make mine Marvel!
  6. Got all the new comic packs in Chicago area Walmarts. They were at all the stores I stopped at this weekend.

    What the heck...

I bought most of the Icons after I saw the Jean, Colossus and Nightcrawler. I have to have them, so Hasbro cannot cancel them. But, sorry to say, they're probably gone.

I still proudly display mine on a shelf near my ML's. They still look pretty cool if they are set up well. I just moved into a bigger house where I'll be able to display all my Toys. As soon as my Toy Room is re-set I'll post some pics.
  9. 5. Mary Jane - Sideshow 4. Iron Man Comiquette - Sideshow 3. Sentinel Diorama #2 Emma & Beast - Sideshow 2. Premium Format Captain America - Sideshow 1. Rogue - Bowen Though the top five is mostly Sideshow, the Bowen Releases this year have been excellent. Most of the statues I buy are Bowen's, and this has been a great year, but Sideshow also had a good year.

    Marvel 2008

Oh so we're greedy for hoping that x-men are included somewhere on this? You know X-men & Spidey fans are sick of the Wolverine, Cyclops, Spidey mess too, but we don't need to be called greedy for hoping that Hasbro finally does some variety!
  11. The 411: Hasbro's 2008 Plans Posted by D_Martin on December 16, 2007 at 03:24 PM CST: As we know, Lucasfilm will be releasing the first three episodes of their new Clone Wars Animated Epic theatrically in the late summer before it begins on television. Hasbro will be ready with the following: Clone Wars 3 ¾” Basic Figures Needless to say, based on the very warm reception the character designs have received from the Star Wars collecting community, this is a line that will be very successful. While we can expect to see 17 figures in 2008, don’t be surprised to find even more coming out after that. Clone Wars Clone Trooper Helmet This role playing helmet will feature a voice amplifier and pre-recorded phrases from the show. It will be package in an interactive try Me box. Clone Wars Ultimate Lightsabers Basically, a repackaged, and possibly retooled build-your-own Lightsaber set. Packaged in a clone Wars themed window box. The Force Unleashed Basic Figure Assortment The other big sub-collection for 2008 will be Force Unleashed. Based on what we’ve seen so far, this collection will not let us down in design or character variety. Beyond what we’ve seen, collectors can expect additional waves to be released throughout the year. Star Wars 3 ¾” Basic Figures Assortment Pushing the action figure pack ins in an altogether new direction, Hasbro will be offering the first build-a-figure promotion in the 3 3/4 “ basic line. The Droid Factory waves is currently planned to include 30 figures in 2008, each with an additional piece that together will create one big droid. Let the speculation begin on this one. Star Wars Evolution Packs The popular Evolutions collection is finally coming back in 2008, and we couldn’t be happier. While there have been a lot of rumours as to what could possibly come out, all we can say at this time is that Hasbro is currently planning 8 different sets for 2008. Star Wars Comic Two packs For 2008, collectors should be seeing 15 new two packs. Following the themes we’ve seen so far, chances are good most, if not all, will be based on the modern comics. Star Wars Battle Packs Hasbro wants to give us 18 new 3 ¾” action figure Battle Packs in the new year. Star Wars 3 ¾” scale Vehicles Assortments Now here’s some exciting news that should get Star Wars collectors excited for 2008… Star Wars 3 ¾” Vehicle Basic Assortment For 2008, Hasbro plans on releasing 10 icon vehicles. Star Wars AT-TE This bad boy is going to be big. Packaged for the Clone Wars Series, Collectors can expect to see a vehicle with lights and sounds that can fit no less than 20 clone troopers! Star Wars Millenium Falcon You’ve demanded it, and Hasbro will deliver! (Assuming enough retailers order this at Toy Fair). The current plan is a retooled Falcon that not only has lights, sounds, and firing missiles, it also has character sound bites and can fit 20 figures! Want to insure this one happens? Here’s the soundest advice in the world: Ask your local retailers to get it and buy it at full price when it comes out. Waiting for large vehicles to hit discount will close the large vehicle and playset opportunities forever Galactic Heroes Two Pack Assortment This line will explode with another 28 two packs planned for the new year. Galactic Heroes Vehicle Assortment There are currently 5 vehicles planned for 2008. Star Wars Role Play Blasters Assortment Hasbro will be repackaging their Clone Trooper, Rebel Soldier, and General Grievous blasters in the new year. Exclusives Amongst the exclusives being offered in 2008, collectors should be on the look out for the following: The Force Unleashed Jungle Rancor Battle Pack Jabba’s Palace Rancor Battle Pack Jabba’s Skiff Guards Battle Pack The Force Unleashed Battle Pack Aayla Secura Jedi Starfighter Clone Wars Battle Pack Beyond that, collectors can also expect 18 new Unleashed Battle Packs, some new Star Wars Transformers, and 5 waves of Mighty Muggs that will give us 22 figures in 2008. For 2008, fans of Indiana Jones can expect Hasbro to have their backs. At the current time, we can tell you that they have broken down virtually on the product lines in this franchise into two waves. The first waves will, where applicable, focus on the debut film Raiders Of The Lost Ark and the second waves will be based on the characters from the upcoming film, The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. After that time we’ll see products based on the other Indy stories as well. Expect to see the first two waves of the following in February at Toy Fair: 3 3/4” Basic Figure Assortment Series 1: ROTLA Series 2: TKOTCS 3 ¾” Deluxe Figure Assortment Series 1: ROTLA Series 2: TKOTCS 3 ¾” Vehicle Assortment Series 1: ROTLA Series 2: TKOTCS Adventure Set Series 1: ROTLA Series 2: TKOTCS Adventure Heroes Assortment Series 1: ROTLA Series 2: TKOTCS 12” Action figure Assortment Series 1: ROTLA Series 2: TKOTCS Titanium Series Series 1: ROTLA Series 2: TKOTCS As anyone who has had the pleasure of speaking to the creative teams at Hasbro can tell you, they have certainly learned how to listen to what people have to say and they know when they are on the right track. They’ll prove the point again in 2008 by continuing their G.I. Joe line where the 25th Anniversary Collection left off. At the current time, we can expect no less than 24 single carded 3 ¾” action figures. In addition to the single carded assortments, we can expect to see the following: 3 ¾” Comic Book Two Packs There are 18 two packs planned for 2008, each of them will include a brand new comic written by Larry Hama. 3 ¾” Battle Packs This is planned to be a series of five four packs, each with a part of a five-issue self-contained comic book story. The sets will be broken up over three series. The first two waves will have towo sets each, and the third wave will have the final set in the series. 3 3/4” Vehicle Assortment The first three waves of vehicles will be somewhat retooled updates of the classic vehicles from the original collection. In total we’ll see ten vehicles over the three waves. At first it would seem that we’re getting the short end of the stick with Hasbro’s Marvel Legends collection, since we’re only seeing two waves (at least for now) in the 2008 line. That’s only 12 figures in total. Thing is, they will also be giving us a few new 6” lines to fill in the gaps. Collectors can expect to see: Marvel Legends Two Packs This line will initially se six different sets, each with a pile of interchangeable parts, such as heads and hands not to mention a bunch of accessories. Spider-Man Heroes & Villains Assortments There are plans to see 48 6” figures in this line, split evenly between the good guys and the bad guys. The Spectacular Spider-Man Animated Action Figure Assortment No word yet on scale, but these 16 figures will be based on the new animated Spidey cartoon. Iron Man Movie Basic Action Figure Assortment So far we’ve seen five of the planned 16 figures in this series. Hulk Action Figure Assortment This summer Hasbro will be releasing two waves, each of four figures, based on the comic book characters in the Hulk realm, each with a build-a-figure piece of Fing Fan Foom. Incredible Hulk Movie Action Figure Assortments There will be 12 basic and another 6 deluxe figures based on the new film coming out in 2008. No word on how big these will be, but its safe to say they’ll fit in the 6” scale. So, even with only two waves of Marvel Legends, Hasbro has no plans to let the Marvel Comics heroes disappear from the shelves. To support the figures, Hasbro will also be filling the old toy shelves with a lot of other related products. Collectors will find the following in 2008: Marvel Legends Universe Action Figure Assortment This collection will see the heroes represented in a new kid-friendly scale. Each 3 ¾” figure will come packed with a top secret profile. There is a better than likely chance this will be an interactive game collection not unlike toy Biz’s Superhero Showdown. Right onw there are two waves of 6 figures planned for a 2008 release. Marvel Legends Transformers Well, there are 8 of these planned, and we guess some people might like them… The Invincible Iron Man Figure This 12” figure will feature snap-on armour, weapons, jet pack, and helmet. Ultimate Electronic Hulk This 12” tall Hulk figure will feature a Double-arm Smash Action, and surprisingly, lights (and sounds). Repulsor-Power Iron Man This figure will be the ultimate Iron Man figure with lights and sounds. Spider-Man Roto Cast Assortment This collection will have 7 10” Spider-Man roto cast figures. Hulk Battle Roto Cast Figures Roto cast figures based on the Hulk and the Abomination. Spider-Man Ooze Attack Webworld Action Figure Assortment This oozetastic series will start off with four figures. Marvel Unleashed 360 Action Figure Assortment Taking off where the Spider-Man assortment left off. There are currently 8 new figures planned. Super Heros Squad There will be 20 new two packs, 6 new Mega packs, 6 more Theme packs with 4 figures each, as well as SHS sets based on The Hulk and Iron Man.
