If there weren't repaints and every line had a new molds and didn't reuse anything, the cost of the Joes would be much much higher. Repaints keep Hasbro making money on figures that they don't have to spend a fortune on thus giving them enough money to make more new figs for people like you.

Another problem is that my BAT doesn't mow the lawn for me, change diapers or multiply when it gets wet. Stupid Hasbro, can't they get anything right!!!

If you happen to live in Valencia or around that area, I too have seen the same nonscence and have tried to bring this issue up with management just to find the pack back on the shelf the next morning. The one that that I can sugguest is, beat the team or person to the punch. I was able to get a few CG's and other troops builders briefly when I was going daily and early too, but then I had some appointments and then got all screwed up and have not been able to time it the way that I used to. But, this goes for anywhere that you go, you have to beat them to get the stuff first. I know that it sux to see so much replaced, but not much more we can do about it. Hope this helps a little. I am in the Valencia area!! We should start a posse!

Okay, so I am in Southern California, and I am surrounded by three Wal-marts, two Targets and one Toys R Us, all with in 15 mintues of eachother give or take. I haven't done a toy run in years, though when I'm in the neighborhood I try to stop by and see if I can find anything good. I have noticed with in the last year or so, or however long the 25th line has been running that there is someone or a team of someones who is buying the figs, then returning them with crappy valor v. venom stuff or DTC joes. Sometimes, they just take the accessories, like Cobra Commander's crystal thingie, or Roadblocks gun. Sometimes he takes the time to try to glue the bubble back on the card, but sometimes it just taped shut...poorly. I see it more at the Wal-marts, but I have seen his handy work pretty much everywhere. Just lately, I found some the the Transformers Animated series replaced with older figures or a Voyager Prime switched out for a Delux. It's very frustrating for me as a collector, but more importantly, it would suck to be a kid and buying what you think is a cool toy and getting it home and finding out you bought a steaming pile of crap. My question to you, my fellow collectors, is what should I do? I have tried to talk to the workers but they uslually brush me off of look at me like I'm speaking a different language, though sometimes I am. I also think that it has to be someone who works there since they seem to have no problem returning this obviously opened merchandise. I've tried calling the wal-mart and talking to a manager but they had me on hold for a good ten minutes. Any good ideas, or do I wait for Karma to melt this sleezy SOB's collection into a pile of goo. Does anyone else have this happening in your area? And if you are in my area, maybe we can hunt this guy down and split his collection...which must be HUGE judging by the size he has stolen AND the amount he has to trade out.

Well... hopefully you guys as adult collectors are not putting toys in your mouth. If so...well then maybe you deserve a little lead poising. As far as company's pulling toys off the shelves remember, these toys are just that. Toys. For kids. They are not so worried about us as collectors but kids playing with toxic toys. But you're right, it's a shame we have to suffer because some kid might not know better. How dare they!!!

damn damn damn I missed them...if anyone saved them PM on over... on a side note, judging from every body whining and moaning, they don't look much like the cartoon/comic look...but think about it...Does anyone remember Street Fighter the Movie, where everyone looked just like the video game? Do we want that?

Prices for toys are going to go up all across the board soon. I work for a small toy company and what with the price of petrolium going up, and with all the saftey recalls that have happened it all equals more testing more cost. Walmart still will use toys as one of their loss leaders but expect more of their prices to go up soon.

FRUSTRATION with Hasbro and the 25th Distribution
HossT replied to MaceWinduPreview's topic in G.I. Joe
I'm here in Southern California, and I have had the lovely experience of finding the five packs only to open the flap to see the 25th figures have been replaced by DTC figures. That's right some cheapo bought them, took out the good figures and replaced them with crap! This has happened at three different stores! Has this happened to anyone else or is it just my cheap town??? -
I've seen them at my local Wal-marts, just series one though. On a side note, here's a totally cool story from Comic Con! I was around the Diamond booth and they had a cool display of all the figures. I ended up talking to a guy who I thought was a Rep or something. Told him I loved the stuff they were doing and asking if he knew what was next for the line. Long story short, it was Jesse Falcon, who is the main designer for the line! He told me that he would love to do Milk and Cheese, there's no plan for an Invincible figure since the movie rights have been sold and there are even more Judge Dredd figs on the way. After that, he gave me a Darkness figure and it turns out he just gave away a Pitt and a Monkeyman right before I talked to him! Cool guy!

Cap: This is for generating interest in the comic book industry and for allowing new readers get excited about characters that have been around for sixty years! Spidey: Not to mention getting us world wide media coverage when all we want to do is be discussed in basements and dank comic stores.
